Our series of articles, which review the numbers behind the 2015/16 season, comes to its conclusion with a look at West Ham.

First up, we cast an eye over the Hammers’ team statistics in Slaven Bilic’s first campaign in charge and compare them to the rest of the Premier League and the previous season. After that, we then take a close look at their first-team squad, main goal threats and creative sources ahead of the season kick-off in just over two weeks’ time.

After finishing in twelfth place in 2014/15, the club parted company with Sam Allardyce and installed Bilic at the helm as they looked to cultivate a more attack-minded style of play in their final season at Upton Park.

It’s fair to say that the Croatian made an instant impact – away wins over Arsenal, Liverpool and Man City in the opening six Gameweeks set the trend for what was to follow, as the Hammers finished in seventh spot on 62 points, just four points behind fourth-placed Man City and 15 more than they managed in Big Sam’s final year.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Quite a few people planning for just the first 3 GWs. I personally think this is a terrible tactic with the second willdcard rule introduced last season. We are more or less forced to play our second WC after GW30 for a DGW. So people WC'ing GW 4 will need to hope their team lasts about 30 GWs before they can make whole sale changes. Too risky for mine with little reward anyway as the first 3 weeks are difficult to predict anyway.

My team ATM preparing for 3-4-3

Baines, Shaw, Morgan (Nsue & Pieters)
    Ayew, Hazard, Eriksen, Firmino (Hojbjerg)
Aguero, Negredo & Benteke (if he moves to palace).

I have been thinking about maybe either downgrading Eriksen to mabe Tadic, and using the mil to either put a little back on to shaw for Azpil or maybe morgan back to Azpil.

City's Achilles heel over the last few seasons has been their defence. If Pep sorts that out they will be a hard force to stop

The problem with the way he sorts it out will be that the build up play and attack will become slow and lethargic. Pep turned an exciting Bayern team into one of the most boring teams in Europe.

It could work wonders, but I have my doubts. Think he'll get a big shock with the quality on the break in the PL and the ease at which teams have learnt to defend against possession football

Excellent comment.. also his teams have rarely been under sustained pressure due to his team having the ball for 70 % of most games.. Don't imagine it will be so in the PL..

He won't. Look at his asinine comments about many City midfielders being able to play as defenders, Fernandinho as an example. 😕

Pep has managed precisely 2 clubs. Bayern, who had won the treble (including the CL) the season before and are far and away better than their opponents in the Bundesliga. And Barcelona who had the greatest constellation of midfielders in a generation (plus the best player of the 21st century) already in place for him and were also way ahead of their opponents until Mourinho went to RM and broke Guardiola.

He has NO IDEA what he is facing in the PL. He is used to managing teams that are head and shoulders above the opposition, where he could get away with playing a 1.74m (5' 9") midfielder (Mascherano) as a CB. He obviously thinks he can play similar games in the PL. He's going to find out he can't.

      Rant over. 🙂

Anyone got any idea what the most common team amongst FFS users is?

I can obviously use the teams selected by % on the game but don't feel that's a fair reflection.

Erc Dier - 15% as a 5.5m midfielder justifies that.
