We were dressed for success, but success it never comes.

Suited and booted, we crown the new season riding a wave of giddy optimism. The positivity flows on the eve of a new campaign which, on paper, looks destined to be one of the best in memory.

Granville makes a belated return to ScoutCast action to join Jonty, Andy and myself as we start to sift the seemingly endless array of options open to us on the new season player list.

It’s bewildering stuff but, guided by you, the community, we attempt to navigate all your pre-season questions before laying our own cards on the table.

It’s amazing to be back amongst it again. Let’s just hope the smiles stay as wide for the next episode.

he ScoutCast is first aired live on our YouTube channel on Thursday night. Be sure to subscribe to get a heads up on future broadcasts.

Thinking about putting Dann in. Has great fixtures and is a goal threat.

Tadic is Sotons biggest threat with set pieces. Lamela is a good differential for Spurs and had a great pre season.

Like it. My thinking. Redmond is oop but has j rod and Austin breathing down his neck. Doesn't perform in Gw1, have Utd in gw2.
Can Ali build on second season?

            A it is then!!!

Rate My Team (First time this season (or pre-season) so wanted to know what people thought of it as almost at the start of the season)

Butland (£5.0) Foster (£4.5) - Good rotation and reliable.
    Walker (£5.5) Bailly (£5.5) Dann (£5.5) Williams (£5.0) Masuaku (£5.0)
    Feghouli (£5.5) Lamela (£7.0) Deulofeu (£6.5) Bolasie (£6.0) Hazard (£10.0)
    Wickham (£6.0) Aguero (£13.0) Lukaku (£9.0)

    Gameweek 1 info:
For gw1 on the bench I have Butland (due to injury) as well as Lukaku, Masuaku and Williams.
I also have Aguero as captain.

In addition, I currently have £1.0m in the bank.

In terms of planned changes, I intend for Bailly to be temporary and intend to switch to Catchcart (£4.5) which gives me another £1m in the bank (£2m total). Depending on if he plays or not, I might also switch out Masuaku.
I may also downgrade Hazard to Oscar (£7.5) depending on how they play.

Too much spent in defence and not enough up front or in the middle for my tastes.

In terms of defence I was planning to free an extra £1m after first gw as stated. I am planning to switch Feghouli to Payet once fully fit as well.

Why carry Butland when he's injured and has poor fixtures anyway? Masauku you might want to wait until you know he's playing.

    a) Hazard Sanchez Redmond Deulofeu Capoue

Where do people get this idea that Shaw has an attacking threat?
In 4 seasons in EPL he has scored 0(zero) goals and created 3 assists! In 4 years!

Both would be good in the Fanduel type games then. To be honest I had Shaw in my team early drafts, but dropped him when I looked at the goals/assists. With Mourinho there..... geez it's tempting.

Good - no United! Not sure about starting with Ayew. Want to see where he plays first.

    Foster
    Stones/Valencia/Morgan/Friend
    Lamela/Hazard/Mahrez
    Aguero(C)/Gray/Zlatan(V)

    Jaku Ibe/Amat/Capoue

    GTG?

Too risky going with Amat AND Kingsley to save some money?

That's not the reason though. If you go 2 x 4.0 get Amat & BSmith. The latter isn't far behind Daniels so you can let him sleep while Amat goes to work for you.

Okay if you WC GW3. Otherwise you're stuck with 2x4.0 on the bench you can't shift.

    Last big decision..

    1. Ibra/ Redmond/ Lamela
    2. Kane/ Tadic/ Ramirez

I am going back n forth on this.. I will have 0.5 or 1.0m in bank either way to make changes after GW 1 if needed..

Currently on 1 but think Tadic/ Kane are just as likely to a lot of damage including set pieces/ penalties.

      Iwobi has the best chance

When you compare three items use best.

You only care about GW1? All 3 are likely to be real-life bench options from GW1 onwards. I'd avoid.
