Dugout Discussion – West Ham vs Bournemouth

The London Stadium hosts the final match of Gameweek 2 as West Ham attempt to settle in their plush new home.

Slaven Bilic’s side host a Bournemouth outfit who claimed a 4-3 victory in the same fixture just over a year ago, via a Callum Wilson hat-trick.

Looking at the West Ham teamsheet, Eddie Howe’s men will fancy their chances again.

The Hammers head into this encounter without both Andy Carroll and Dimitri Payet – the latter “felt something” after his appearance at Chelsea on Monday night, whilst Carroll has sustained a knee injury which will keep him out for a number of weeks according to Slaven Bilic.

As for the Cherries, they appear to have changed shape and seem to be going on the attack: Howe has introduced Ryan Fraser on the flank, with Lewis Cook dropping out.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    When it comes to choosing a goalkeeper. Shouldn't we choose talent above all else first? Some are just picking fixtures. I think Heaton is a big talent plus he knows his defenders. In contrast Guzan got relegated last season. He can't catch a ball and from a US standpoint (I'm American) I could name at least three keepers in Major League Soccer who are better than him.

      Above all, you should be picking keepers of teams that are more likely to finish the season with more clean sheets. Basically, those teams that look to defend more. Skill set isn't much of a factor.

      When choosing my keepers, it's rarely on the ability of the keepers, it's more on the defence as a whole. Defenders are different as your looking at goal and assist potential. Keepers are solely on clean sheets. Peno saves are their one real area and it's a lottery. I don't overly look at save points tbh, they are a bonus
