We delve into the Gameweek 2 data this Wednesday evening in the first members article of the week. Man United and Sunderland’s new midfielders impress on their first starts, Eden Hazard and Harry Kane’s contrasting fortunes arrive under analysis, whilst Michail Antonio thrives on his return to the Hammers’ flank.
Best 4.5 def?
Friend/McAuley atm IMO
McAuley 4.6 now
Mee or Evans..who has a knock at the moment
Friend also. But he too has a knock
Friend may have an injury, wait for news on it before going with him.
GTG this next GW?
Foster (Heaton)
Shaw/Morgan/VVD
Tadic/Haz/Fletcher/Firmino
Gray/Ibra/Kun
Subs Kante/Friend/Amat
Good team but not keen on Fletcher as fourth mid. Who's your fifth mid?
Kante...need to upgrade them I know...
GTG but Kante needs upgraded pronto
Repost, bottomed:
Over the short term and possible price rises without using WC next couple weeks. Who is my best option to replace Pieters with?
0.5 ITB
A) Stones
B) Williams
B
B
Lots of love for Williams. Hopefully means he will be rising in the near future, may go that route
A) Stones - Coleman is a better EVE asset if you can find .5
B.
Friend's injury a bad one?
He's injured???
Good team but not keen on Fletcher. Who's your fifth mid?
I feel like I am going to have a shocker of a week.
Firmino out of form.
Friend injured.
Gray's head won't be in the game.
Used both FTs.
Can see a below 50 score here.
Proud to have not knee jerked the WC.... Yet.
Kind a same situation 😀
Firmino, Friend, 2FTs done nad haven't used WC.
Only thing is that I used FT to transfer Gray out...shambles..
Here's to 30-40 points.
It's a marathon, not a sprint.... at least that's what I keep telling myself 🙁
But when you get left behind in gw3 you need to sprint to catch up...
Hi lads, I've got a FT to burn! Any ideas how to use it?
Foster Jaku
Shaw Stones Kone Friend Amat
Hazard Lamela Townsend Gaston Leko
Kun Ibra Vardy
Vardy to Gray.
Upgrade Townsend and Leko
vardy to negredo
What time are price changes happening this year?
I need to know this in EST.
I think 2am in the UK, so 9pm EST.
same time at 130 no?
2:15 GMT
20:15 EST
Thanks for the replies
TM, you holding Firmino this week?
50/50
Have to decide by tonight if you wanna dodge his price drop.
I'm thinking Barkley. Stoke(H), Sunderland(A), Middlesbrough(H) next 3.
Firmino: Tottenham(A), Leicester(H), Chelsea(A).
If he blanks vs Spurs he almost certainly drops 0.3 from tonight to GW4.
Thoughts on Ross? Looked good in the Cup highlights I saw playing in the hole and liking with Lukaku. Also on set pieces.
I might WC next week if things are getting too messy.
Fair enough.
I'm just torn on whether to get Barkley or not for a hit.
Who do you think will score more points this week ?
A) Tadic
B) Barkley
barkley
Tough one but I think Tadic.
Might be bias cause I have him, but he is due.
50/50 imo
Sterling.
Barkley's going to score this weekend isn't he, let's be honest.
As long as Firmino gets a brace.
Hatrick of free kicks, all flukes
This is my thinking currently. Especially with Given in net.
This makes me sad such a great player especially for Ireland .
You could say it's a given
Your coat sir .
What are people doing with Gray?
He'll probably play this weekend (Chelsea away - great!) and then be banned for Hull (home), with a price drop somewhere in between the two.
He won't get banned.
Why not?
Why do you think this? What's the latest from the FA?
Cos he has been charged hasn't he? The precedent seems to be a 1 match ban. I am assuming it won't be in time for the weekend as the process takes longer.
Because in the eyes of the law you cannot be prosecuted for this type of "crime" after 12 months or more.
The FA will set a dangerous precedent if they do ban him.
Should they ban Terry because he slept with his team mates wife 10 years ago?
I think he'll be warned for his future conduct.
My question was to the OP btw
Where did this 12 month rule come out of?
In the eyes of the law? Bollox. Murderers can get caught by DNA and done years after the event.
Slightly different.
Lol ok but just an example.
In defence of NB, Badger mentioned in "the eyes of the law" and would need to explain the analogy a bit better and where 12 months was plucked out of. I can guess and it rhymes with rum 🙂
I am talking about defamatory comments, libel and slander etc.
Bloody hell, obviously I didn't mean for all crimes - otherwise we'd all rob banks and go on holiday for a year...
I think the FA may prove to be sensible on this one... For once!
I think he might be referencing hate speech laws
The FA do what they want
They do, but surely they'd use statutory law as a guide.
If he did it yesterday we'd all expect a ban, but it was 4 years ago.
I don't think government law applies in this situation. I do agree though, a bit ridiculous to impose a ban for a tweet from 4 years ago

EFL Trophy highlights on Channel 5 now.
Not this
Do you prefer the Firmino to Barkley chat?
Worth doing Gray to Rondon this week?
thinking this or negredo
Negredo has gone up to 6.7 so I can't afford, but Rondon's stats look good
Should I play 442 and bench gray v pool. (other defenders Valencia, stones,Williams) Or..
Should I play 343 and bench friend and play gray??
Gray
I'd lean towards Friend, close one though
Gray plays Chelsea btw
I have 2 FT and want to sort out my midfield. But is it worth dropping Gray now before a potential ban (would be benching him this week anyway)?
Which do you prefer?
A: Eriksen ---> Sterling/Barkley
B: Eriksen + Gray ---> Negredo + Sterling/Barkley
Would appreciate any opinions from anyone
A. With sterling. I prefer Rondon if you go b
I'd do A to Barkley or Pogba. Would wait on Gray - if he's banned, get rid, if not, you have him for Hull at home gw4 plus 2 transfers over the international break
Pick one please
A) Firmino > Barkley and keep Sanchez
B) Sanchez > Hazard and keep Firmino
C) Sanchez > De Bruyne and keep Firmino
A
B definitely
A
B
Not c
Did someone say friend is injured??
Yes. Calf apparently. No further update at the mo.
Odion Ighalo: outstanding striker who scored a ton of goals in half a season or lucky forward who has not scored more than a couple of league goals since being found out in January?
Firmino to Mane a bit pointless ?
Nothing else pressing, except deulo ! 2FT
Yes I think so. Would want to get Mané when our fixtures turn good in GW6.
You could do that or sort Del and save a ft. I'd get Mané in if I could.
trouble is, only got 0.5m to sort deulofeo, and it would probably have to be a straight swap to bolasie ...
firmino dropping too
Is doubling up on Barkley and Bolasie madness to you?
Not madness, but I wouldn't bother with Bolasie. Better options at his price.
Agreed
Already stuck with Bolasie so will have to eat that one.
what better options at 6m ?
Bojan
I went for Bojan from the start. Great player and on pens. However, a Stoke fan said he didn't play well at the weekend. I'll see for myself on Saturday.
I like Snodgrass, too.
Hi guys, see that both stones and friend were subbed..was it due to any injury?
Friend was due to injury, not sure about Stones.
No and Yes
Too many ads on Channel 5.
Gives you time to post on here. Right, I've got to go.
Is Mkhi behind lingard and mata in the pecking order?
No porbably just not match fit yet.
So you think Mkhi is first choice RW but is just being given time to settle in?
Almost certainly. Just hasn't got up to speed in the Prem life just yet.
Once he's up and running, do you think he'll be worth the price and alot of managers will transfer him in?
And how much longer do you think he needs?
Which of these three statements is more sensible?
A: "I should choose Jaku / Heaton as my keeper pairing, even though none of them have a good fixture for this exact gameweek. Over time, Heaton will simply be a better GK to have than Foster"
B: "Foster and Heaton are close enough that Foster's good fixture this gameweek should sway the opinion in his favor"
C: "Foster is just better than Heaton anyway, even with a West brom defender like McAuley in the team"
If you use your WC WITH 2 FT, do the 2 frees carry over to the next gameweek or will you be left with 1?
Resets to 1.
Capoue?
Evans - knock
Friend - muscle
Gray - possible ban?
Problems mounting up for the old template
Capoue is fit, Evans is template?
Capoue not injured according to FPL
Won a Car for a year for winning the Euro fantasy over the summer, was meant to get it within 30 days, I never got the car, and its been 40 days now, they arent replying to my calls, any tips? shame them on facebook or something?
you won the euros fantasy! wow great job!
yeah try the facebook/twitter approach
Well not the offical one, a competitive league with over 400 entrants.
I won the official one. Haven't heard from them either. Ridiculous
Wow well done, now that is ridiculous! what were you meant to win?
A phone, match ball, jersey, cleats, videos games etc.
Ok, it seems a rather timid prize but not bad all the same.
Considering it's McDonald's, yeah it's dumb.
Think they have office near me, do you want me to ask them? They even have a handy window I can drive my car up to and ask
Call your solicitor. Facebook lol.
Well its not to be laughed at, online criticism showing the competition for what it was is a powerful thing.
So is the law
seems like a lot of hassle for a prize
Yeah that should do the job haha
ok thanks for the laughs, any tips
I don't know what to advise.. what competition was this have you a link or anything?
My initial thoughts are you will never see that car but well played mate
Thanks man, us fantasy managers are promised the world until we actually win..
It's a crap car anyway. With it being only "for a year" I thought it was going to be an Aston Martin or something!
Be class if they sent a remote control one lol
😆
Clever use of perspective in the photo!
Its an odd prize no doubt, still I wouldnt call it a crap car, its an upgrade from what I drive atm anyway lol
I would be tempted to find out where the chap lives and rob his car or at least slash his tyres lol
What company?
which one was it?
It was one run by Donegal Daily
in fairness the website is two bob bit. not a professional outfit.
ring them, email them, tweet like flick about them
and contact Michael Murphy Sports and Leisure and Inishowen Motors - the sponsors
Michael Murphy will have a bit of time on his hands now to sort it 😉
he'll still run faster than Benteke
and more than Studge
Fact 🙂
😆
thanks, it was the motor co that wasnt responding
I would call into them Fergie. To be honest, I know it said within 30 days but sure you know how these local things work, will just involve a bit of pressure from you. You are entitled to it, so keep an eye on it. If another month passes, a rocket of a solicitor's letter will sort it out. Let me know how you get on.
Thanks, yeah, I notice in fine print it says Car may be subject to reconditioning costs upon return, the prize seems more like a liability than an asset.
The devil is in the detail. Make sure you keep a copy of the T's and C's of the competition for your records as well as a copy of any correspondence you might have with any of the parties.
Even if they show up, with the car do you really want to pay an unknown amount of 'reconditioning costs' when you give it back? Reckon you're better off the way things have turned out.
I agree with you Elvy, I have gone off the idea, but dont you think they deserve a bit of criticism for how they handled the matter?
They deserve it mate. It's a pity all this has happened because you won a 400 person minileague so fair play to you.
Firmino to Barkley then Barkley back to Firmino for -4?!
noooo
Only if it's for free.
Delefeou to Mirallas or Townsend?.
