A typically disciplined Burnley performance nullifies Watford’s recent attacking verve and earns a precious three points at Turf Moor. Here’s the Stock Check after Monday brought the curtain down on Gameweek 6.

On the Rise

Tom Heaton
A second clean sheet of the season promoted Heaton back to the top of the FPL keeper rankings on 27 points.

Priced at 4.6, Heaton goes on confirming his value in well-drilled Burnley defence that, at Turf Moor at least, should go on generating shut-outs.

Michael Keane
Arriving in the Premier League with a reputation as a threat from set-pieces, tonight Keane delivered his first Premier League strike.

Five goals during Burnley’s promotion season flagged up his goal threat and saw him claim a 5.0 initial price in the FPL. While that has since fallen to 4.9, we’ll need to see more from Keane to warrant that outlay with Heaton an option in goal.

Steven Defour
If we ever go knocking for a Burnley midfield with 6.0 to spend then Defour will be our go-to option.

Clearly a class act, the Belgian has registered three assists a goal and six bonus points in his Burnley tenure so far. He is, however, still to complete 90 minutes.

In Decline

Jose Holebas
We were grateful to see him fit to claim his starting role at left wing-back but this was not an enjoyable evening for the Greek.

Pinned back in the first-half by a determined Clarets, Holebas was forced into a traditional left-back role with Walter Mazzarri’s tactical changes as the Hornets chased the game.

More significantly, he earned a fourth booking of the season and is now just a single yellow away from a one-match suspension. After suffering defeat in the EFL Cup, they also don’t have the option of allowing him to absorb any suspension outside of Premier League action.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Pickford
    Valencia - Holebas - Evans
    Sanchez (c) - Firmino - Sterling - Antonio
    Aguero (v) - Lukaku - Benteke

    Heaton - Capoue - Collins - Amat

0FT 0.0ITB, any hits worth taking?

No hits needed. International break coming up, anything can happen.

Only comment would be the Utd cover against Stoke. I'd be looking at Rashford maybe over Benteke (away to Everton).

Burnley are generally tough to beat at home. Watford's performance was disappointing, but can see the big teams struggling there as well this season.

Aguero - Kane - Defoe could be the strikeforce later in the season. Like the look of that combo.

Gonna call an early possible punt...and just based on nothing at all other than guesswork and a need for change.

It's fairly common knowledge that Conte has used three central defenders very often in his managerial career....surely it's time to revisit that...or he must certainly be at least contemplating it...

Azpi ftw vs Hull could be tidy....

Definitely. Snodgrass never rests though and it's hard to imagine they'll be playing with 10 men again and even then they scored. Both times, both against top 4 teams.

Not a great chip, lucky if you make any points from it. Last year I lost points while using it and this year (this GW), I broke even with blanks (2pts) from Capoue and Antonio (1 of whom I would have benched) but left Evans on the bench who also got 2

      1. Pariße
        • 10 Years
        9 years, 2 months ago

This season tends to be different so far. With the lack of CSs, there's little value in defenders and being able to play the chip every week would be a blessing. However, it's hard to get it right or make it useful, all of your attackers rarely deliver at once and it's the least profitable of the chips.

I'll absolutely be holding. I'd prefer any fall below purchase price to be at a point where I'm happy to go a week without. That is not this week.

Very annoying! Especially as he has such a good fixture. That said if he scores a brace next game...

Would you wildcard this lot? or can you see any way to get Sanchez in? I can't see one without selling Ibra but that seems crazy before Stoke

    Jaku/Foster
    Baines/Shaw/Stones/McC/Amat
    Firmino/Tadic/Antonio/Capoue/Routeledge
    Aguero/Ibra/Lukaku

I'd wait a week for the international break. Always a chance of injuries

Yep, agreed. Harder decision choosing who to bring in than letting him go though..

You want to know what 'The People think about this? haha sorry, poor pun. I'd say he's worth holding on to 🙂 after that, he can 'take the long road and walk it' if he plays badly or anything.

Leister was bound to fall a bit this year, Defenders no longer allowed to use grappling hooks. #MIBlazers

Hoping for big points from my midfield this week..

    Ozil - Payet - Firm - Capoue/Snod

Hopefully the Hammers sort themselves out and Payet comes good again.

Expecting a haul from Firmino this week. Played well v Hull and was a bit unlucky not to get points
