Having recently announced the launch of the 13th instalment of our open to all Fantasy Premier League cup competition, we thought we’d give you another reminder to make sure you enter in time.

As we revealed last week, this year’s contest is sponsored by FanDuel, who are donating more than £1,000 worth of prizes for UK based entrants on top of the £350 in Amazon vouchers we are offering to the top three managers at the end of the competition.

In addition, all UK entrants who take part in the cup get a £10 free credit from FanDuel added to their account when they play their first game. This can be used at any time as soon as you register with FanDuel.

Sign up to this latest Cup competition via the entry form here. The deadline for entries is Monday November 7.

Timetable

The qualifying round will take place in Gameweek 11, with the first round running in Gameweek 12.

The first round will consist of 1024 teams and, as usual, all the competition’s previous winners who enter will gain a bye into the first round draw where they will join the top scorers from Gameweek 11. FPL standing will decide who progresses in the event of tied positions. Previous winners must enter to be included.

The cup will then be played out according to the following Gameweek schedule:

Note that some Gameweeks are skipped due to tight turnaround times.

Round 1 – 1024 teams – Gameweek 12
Round 2 – 512 teams – Gameweek 13

Comparison between KDB and Kun since the beginning of 15/16 season (including the 4 games before KDB arrived)

    Matches – 32 vs 36
    Win % -- 75 vs 53
    Loss % -- 16 vs 25
    Win % (missed games) – 30 vs 60
    Loss % (missed games) – 60 vs 20

    Points from Goal or Assist/game – 2.9 vs 3.47
    Bonus/game – 0.68 vs 0.92
Games with either goal or assist or both – 15/32 vs 19/36

    KDB with and without Kun
    Matches – 23 vs 9
    Goals – 6 vs 3
    Assists – 11 vs 5
    Blanked – 13/23 vs 4/9 (57% vs 44%)

    Kun with and without KDB
    Matches – 23 vs 13
    Goals – 23 vs 6
    Assists – 3 vs 0
    Blanked – 9/23 vs 10/15 (39% vs 67%)
    Inferences
    1. Man City do better in games which feature KDB, than Kun. And they do much worse in games where KDB doesn’t play
    2. Aguero’s returns are a bit more spread out over more games (19/36 games), and KDB scores more events per games (15/32 games). One reason might be that he scored 4/5 penalties last season
    3. Aguero got 11 more Bonus points, after playing 4 more games. This season, KDB’s bonus returns are much better though
    4. KDB’s returns in assist and goals, is more when Kun isn’t involved in the game.
    5. Kun’s returns in both Goals and Assists drops quite a lot when KDB isn’t involved in the game
    6. With Kun's minutes being a bit doubtful under Pep, its a viable option to go with KDB as your main Man City asset

Note – It is nearly impossible to account for goals or assists after one of the player was subbed in a match. So the numbers should be taken with a pinch of salt. But most of the time, either player was subbed pretty late in the game, especially Aguero.

Sterling is better value than KDB.

If you were to have only value players in the team, then you'll be left with miney in the bank and less points than others

And PPM-wise KDB is 7 while sterling is 5.9. So not much value increase there

        1. Worzel Gummidge
          9 years, 8 months ago

Be interesting to know where you got those PPM as they are wrong. In the PL

          KDB is 4.6
          Sterling is 5.5

Its from the FPL page itself. Points Per Match sorting in the transfer area.

            Kdb - 49 from 7 games
            Sterling - 47 from 8

            1. Worzel Gummidge
              9 years, 8 months ago

We were talking value so should be talking about points per million.

Yes. But sterling has played an extra game. So u need to discount that. Best measure is

                PP90minsPerMillion

                KDB - 0.69
                Sterling - 0.72

For that very small difference, I'd rather take a player with a higher ceiling. If there were many expensive players scoring will, I'd agree that Sterling is a better pick. Right now, theres a lot of money to spare

With KDB posting better numbers than last season, pretty soon the gap between him and sanchez will be even more.
He's the much better pick among the 2

          Its based on numbers.

          Sanchez PP90M - 6.46
          KDB PP90M - 6.57

And KDB is cheaper as well. He just keeps improving

Mark v Jonty FanDuel GWK 9

Mark and I are going head to head in FanDuel again this week.

So far its 3-1 to me, although could be 4-1 as he hasn't told me his score from last week, when I won another £10.

Remember only goalies get clean sheets and defenders against tough sides tend to do well. Also players like KDB and Payet are monster scorers.

    Here's mine

    Grant
    Holebas Naughton Blind
    KDB Payet Moses Shaqiri
    Firmino Walcott Defoe

    Here's Mark's

    Cech
    Holebas Bailly VVD
    Payet Allen Mane Fer
    Walcott Firmino Lukaku

Can I join anyway just for fun and transfer my prize to someone if it does get to that point?

The Cup is open to all - its only the FanDuel prizes and free credit that are UK only. There's other prizes in the shape of Amazon vouchers for all the top placed managers at the end.

So do join if from outside the UK and not just for fun - for actual prizes. 🙂

Yeah , guess we just have to wait and watch. Foolish in the extreme though if Pep manages to drain the confidence of the no 1 ( by a mile) striker in the PL

Something gets taken out of context and then as soon as something gets posted on here it gets more ridiculous

Exactly - don't think Pep is a stupid guy trying to alienate Agueroooooooo and subsequently the fans - the man who got THAT goal. Whether this business will end up being a plus or minus for Man City remains to be seen.

Chance of Sterling playing 70+ minutes. What do we reckon?

Anyone worth a 4pt hit for baines? Was thinking bout Clyne or Coleman. Only have 5.6m to spend and only 10 players if I don't.

How about wildcarding to this then

    Foster/Heaton
    Daniels/Pieters/Lovren/Walker/Holebas
    Sterling/Firmino/Sanchez/Lanzini/Capoue
    Ibra/Lukaku/Austin

I know Ibra should go. But i'm just holding on to him a bit longer

    Evening all.

    Two questions:

    1) Get Lallana or Siggy for Antonio with my free transfer or hold the FT and make a new assesment after the gameweek (2FTs next GW)

    2) Bench one?
    A) Lovren WBA
    B) Holebas swa
    C) Amat WAT
    D) Pieters hul

    Cech Pickford
    Lovren Holebas Pieters Amat Robertson
    Firmino Sanchez Sterling Antonio Carrick
    Agüero Lukaku Deeney

    Hi, G2G? 1FT and 0.3ITB

    Grant
    Koscielny, Holebas, Lovren
    Sanchez, Sterling, Firmino, Allen
    Kun, Lukaku, Deeney

    Pickford, Snodgrass, Baines, Amat

Is benching order right? Thinking ditching Baines next week and thinking what to do with 2FTs then.

    My defense is
Holebas Amat Stones with Baines and Evans injured and suspended respectively.

Worth bringing in anyone on a hit for Baines or Evans?
