Few players can compare to Sergio Aguero when it comes to punishing Fantasy Football managers.

So we should not be surprised by today’s 16-point haul – an emphatic message to the doubters who questioned his ability to deliver, amidst speculation on his pitch time and relationship with manager Pep Guardiola.

Aguero’s superb brace at the Hawthorns defied our preconceptions that this was a player low on confidence. His second, a sublime long-range curling effort, was typical of Aguero at his best, providing a chilling warning to those who now progress without him.

I’d personally been burned by a spiteful Aguero in the past – a factor which likely saved me from ejecting him prematurely.

Over the past two Gameweeks, almost 100,000 had decided on such a path – this evening they are left pondering the damage of that trade – not just as a result of today’s return, but also the points that could loom ahead of Manchester City’s obliging run of fixtures.

Middlesbrough are next at the Etihad, an opponent that recently proved stubborn at the Emirates and who earned a second successive clean sheet in today’s win over Bournemouth.

Many will now be praying for resistance from Aitor Karanka’s charges; hoping that City and Aguero are left weary by their midweek Champions League date with Barcelona, or even that Guardiola will risk stirring the pot by resting him from League action.

That seems unlikely.

The 4-0 win over West Brom saw City regain their mojo. The City boss will surely look to maintain momentum, with the League table hinting at the most competitive and open title race in memory.

Typically for a season now renowned for fickle fluctuation, in the space of seven days, things have turned on their heads: ignoring Aguero suddenly looks preposterous.

Certainly, there are no clear alternatives.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic again peppered the Old Trafford goal without reward against Burnley. Troy Deeney and Christian Benteke drew their third successive blanks, while Jermain Defoe lived off scraps and mustered a spot-kick in the defeat to Arsenal – his first goal in four outings.

Sunday will see both Romelu Lukaku and Diego Costa take their turn. Aguero already has a stronger points per match ratio than the latter, he’ll also surpass Lukaku should the Everton man dare to blank.

We await Harry Kane’s return and perhaps Arsene Wenger’s intentions with Olivier Giroud but, in all honesty, by the time they have established pitch time and form, Aguero will surely have taken further strides.

For all the funds we can pour into our midfield, there is currently no tu replacement for Aguero in attack and, with the majority of armbands set to head his way in Gameweek 11, we only risk further punishment by overlooking him.

A truly frightening prospect.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    GTG? Cost me - 4

    Heaton -- Pickford

    Koscielny -- Walker -- Pieters -- McAuley -- Smith

    Capoue -- Firmino -- Coutinho -- Sanchaez -- Gundogan

    Kun -- Lukaku -- Austin

Had just enough $$$ to switch Fletcher and Tekkers out and bring in Austin and Gundogan

Even when trying to build team value then making transfers on a Saturday is unwise when there's three games to go.
If Austin doesn't get crocked then those are good moves, so hopefully you don't regret them after this gameweek is over.
Good looking team and good luck to you!

Odd isnt it? 4.9 with goal threat and excellent fixtures. Yes their defence is ropey but most are. CS are hard to predict

He's one of the main reasons their defence is poor. Has no killer instinct or positional sense required for a centre back at that level. Luckily Matip is decent. Crystal Palace were poor in attack and Lovren gifted McArthur two goals. There's more threat in other so-called easy fixtures than Palace had last night.

John Stones must've been owned by everyone gw1 and had 9 weeks of 0 1 or 2 pts and just as he got to -99℅ he gets a CS and bap and somehow avoids that 0.1 drop. How on earth did he take so long to fall? And why is he the only player apart from Kyle Walker ive had all season?

    Grant, Pickford

    Walker, Kosc, Holebas, Smith, Amat

    KDB, Firmino, Walcott, Son, Allen

    Aguero, Costa, Austin

    1 free transfer. 0.0 itb.

Really want coutinho for the firmino double up but the only way I can do it is to get rid of KDB which I don't really want to do but think I have too.

Is this a good move. I would then probably take out son later in the week for a minus 4 maybe to hazard.

Bench of Pickford, Diomande, Kingsley, Amat is too risky right? Shame, look at this XI it gives

      -------------------------Lloris---------------------------
      --------------Mustafi Alonso Holebas--------------
      Sanchez Firmino Coutinho Walcott Redmond
      --------------------Aguero Lukaku--------------------

It depends if you get more then one injury you could take hits or use the one free each week.
I would get heaton ahead of lloris though!

Yep, though Id actually prefer to have Mane in for home games as a potential captain

      Anyone doing or recommnding doing:
      -4 Sterling > Cout

      1 yes
2 no...sterling has easier fixture, but risk rotation

I did it last week. So far so good. We'll see. (I carried Sterling for awhile and got tired of watching Cout blow past him. Klopp seems to be doing okay with the Mane - Firm -- Cout line. Can't defend for crap, so they need to rely on outscoring opposition.)

      Best midfielder 4.4 or less?

And Walcott or Sterling to Coutinho?

        Fletcher

Sterling though wait until Walcott's fitness is confirmed before making a move. Better keeping a fit Sterling than an injured Walcott.
