Few players can compare to Sergio Aguero when it comes to punishing Fantasy Football managers.

So we should not be surprised by today’s 16-point haul – an emphatic message to the doubters who questioned his ability to deliver, amidst speculation on his pitch time and relationship with manager Pep Guardiola.

Aguero’s superb brace at the Hawthorns defied our preconceptions that this was a player low on confidence. His second, a sublime long-range curling effort, was typical of Aguero at his best, providing a chilling warning to those who now progress without him.

I’d personally been burned by a spiteful Aguero in the past – a factor which likely saved me from ejecting him prematurely.

Over the past two Gameweeks, almost 100,000 had decided on such a path – this evening they are left pondering the damage of that trade – not just as a result of today’s return, but also the points that could loom ahead of Manchester City’s obliging run of fixtures.

Middlesbrough are next at the Etihad, an opponent that recently proved stubborn at the Emirates and who earned a second successive clean sheet in today’s win over Bournemouth.

Many will now be praying for resistance from Aitor Karanka’s charges; hoping that City and Aguero are left weary by their midweek Champions League date with Barcelona, or even that Guardiola will risk stirring the pot by resting him from League action.

That seems unlikely.

The 4-0 win over West Brom saw City regain their mojo. The City boss will surely look to maintain momentum, with the League table hinting at the most competitive and open title race in memory.

Typically for a season now renowned for fickle fluctuation, in the space of seven days, things have turned on their heads: ignoring Aguero suddenly looks preposterous.

Certainly, there are no clear alternatives.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic again peppered the Old Trafford goal without reward against Burnley. Troy Deeney and Christian Benteke drew their third successive blanks, while Jermain Defoe lived off scraps and mustered a spot-kick in the defeat to Arsenal – his first goal in four outings.

Sunday will see both Romelu Lukaku and Diego Costa take their turn. Aguero already has a stronger points per match ratio than the latter, he’ll also surpass Lukaku should the Everton man dare to blank.

We await Harry Kane’s return and perhaps Arsene Wenger’s intentions with Olivier Giroud but, in all honesty, by the time they have established pitch time and form, Aguero will surely have taken further strides.

For all the funds we can pour into our midfield, there is currently no tu replacement for Aguero in attack and, with the majority of armbands set to head his way in Gameweek 11, we only risk further punishment by overlooking him.

A truly frightening prospect.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Really annoyed with Firmino at the moment for his poor performance as per usual and taking of his shirt for no reason. Can't wait to ditch him for Coutinho next week. "Stock with the pool mid you have" they said..

He's taken off his shirt I'd say because if frustration at finally having scored. It's a ridiculous rule to yellow card a player anyway. You want to show passion, we'll yellow card you. Numpties

Best move here gents (2.5m in the bank):

    Pickford
    Lovren, Mustafi, Pieters
    Coutinho, Firmino, Sanchez, Allen
    Aguero, Lukaku, Rashford*

    4.0; Capoue, Amat*, Evans

    A) Rashford -> Austin
    B) Mustafi -> Fuchs / Alonso
    C) Amat -> Fuchs / Alonso

He will likely do om although Giroud will impact his points, and Walcott and injury are never far from the same sentance.

Don't do it, if you want to know why just read some of the posts from last week where people were looking to sell Aguero and how that panned out, Theo is this week's Aguero where people will talk themselves into thinking selling him is a good idea.

You've held him for the missed game, no point selling now, he's also was the highest scoring mid at a cheap price in a team that will score goals, makes no sense.

Instead of getting the favourite saints - Austin or Redmond, I’m thinking about going with the "fixture proof" Chelsea attack. Just not sure whether Hazard or Costa is the better way to go.

    (A)
    Sanchez - Coutinho - Firmino - Allen - "Hazard"
Aguero - Lukaku - Barrow (5.0 or below)

    (B)
    Sanchez - Coutinho - Firmino - Allen - Matic (5.0 or below)
    Aguero - Lukaku - “Costa”

Am I making it too complicated ? The simple option is to get Austin or Redmond and move on.

B looks really good. Would probably go with Fletcher instead of Matic and use the funds saved in defence or upgrading Allen.

Thanks. If I choose to go with 4.4 MF for 5th MF, I can upgrade Allen to Gundogan in case he consistently generate points or upgrade my DF.

Most people have Costa, so I'm thinking about Hazard as alternative.

B is better than A which is better than both saints options.
I'd go B and try to squeeze Redmond in for Allen if possible

        9 years, 1 month ago

B is better than A, do you mean owning Costa is better than Hazard ?

3.9m MF is needed as enabler for upgrading Allen to Redmond.
Option is to degrade my current DF, but I think it will be too weak.

        Walker - Lovren - Smith - Holebas - 3.9

        1. diesel001
          • 9 Years
          9 years, 1 month ago

If you can achieve this then I think you will smash it:

          Heaton - Grant
Walker - Lovren - Smith - Holebas - "cheap filler"
Sanchez - Coutinho - Firmino - Redmond - "cheap filler"
          Aguero - Lukaku - Costa

That would be a very good team

Nope. Not sure the extra money is that useful a compromise for what he offers. Will hardly score goals compared to the brazilians. Liverpool are strong title contenders, playing once a week, scoring buckets of goals, so you want a decent slice of that pie. Henderson is not it

    Slimani and Robertson out for...

    A) Fuchs and Giroud
    B) Pieters and Lukaku

A Lukaku haul today might force my hand, but appreciate all advice

Prefer B regardless of Lukaku haul or not

Prefer B. Giroud by no means nailed back in.

Thanks both - fair comment re-Giroud, I'll find another way to get Fuchs in

Nice team. Get a new GK for Jaku and consider changing Coleman (Fuchs?)

Defence and /or keepers more of a priority - You have Sanchez, and Walcott will be back

Think you need Coutinho or Firmino or both

    2 ft

    britos to morgan
    valencia to alonso

diomande (4.6) to jonathan benteke (injured 4.4) to free up 0.2 worth a -4 ? Can't do deals without the 0.2

note- 3rd striker bench fodder for 352 team

Looks decent to me. Not sure I'd be pulling the trigger just yet though with mid week European games but keep an eye on price movement

Yet another poor week. On 54points and all out.
Captaining Deeney was the biggest mistake I made. Still lingering on 1.2m OR. Will be back to 1.7m OR once all today's games are played
