Two Swansea City old boys combine to see off the Welshman in the Potteries, as thousands of Fantasy managers profit from the continued form of a certain “number ten”. Here’s the Stock Check from the final Gameweek 10 fixture…

On the Rise

Joe Allen
Two assists sealed a third double-figure haul in the space of five Gameweeks as Allen’s flourishing form continued.

Buzzing around the hold-up play of Wilfried Bony, the 5.1 Fantasy Premier League option twice teamed up with the Ivorian to see off Swansea City.

Over 130,000 FPL managers brought Allen in ahead of Gameweek 10 to earn instant rewards. Given his current form and output, they will feel that he fully justifies a fourth midfielder role in our squads. Certainly, as a fifth midfielder in a 3-5-2, Allen looks destined to deliver.

However, it should be noted that Stoke City have played the current bottom three clubs in their last three outings. The trip to West Ham United could prove trickier for the Potters and Allen – particularly with Marko Arnautovic and potentially Xherdan Shaqiri both absent.

Wilfried Bony
Finally, after seven Premier League starts, Bony has sparked to life having ended his goal drought against his former club.

Priced at 7.3, it was hoped that the Ivorian could provide a mid-price option on his arrival at the bet365 stadium. That could now be the case, although the output currently being provided by Allen will undoubtedly dampen enthusiasm for Bony as an attacking option.

In Decline

Xherdan Shaqiri
Over 94,000 acquired the Swiss international off the back of his 15-point return at Hull City, only to see the playmaker limp from the field on 26 minutes. There’s no news as yet on the nature of the injury or a prognosis.

Marko Arnautovic
Perched on the suspension tightrope before Monday night’s encounter, the Austrian was unable to navigate the 90 minutes and, having received his fifth booking, will now miss the Gameweek 11 trip to West Ham.

With just a goal and an assist this season, Arnautovic has been a bitter disappoint after his 11-goal campaign last time out.

Stephen Kingsley
Brought back in at left-back for the Swansea City clean sheet against Watford last weekend, Kingsley was tonight inexplicably relegated to the reserves with Neil Taylor earning a recall.

With Jordi Amat ousted to the bench in Gameweek 9, it appears that we no longer have a 4.1 option available in the Swansea rearguard – perhaps that’s no major loss on the evidence of Monday night.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

\o/ Hold my hands up...I got shot of Aguero (and Snodgrass) this week.

Two players I choose did return excellent points but the rest let me down. Already done Foster > Heaton. Valencia out next week unless I suffer an injury in defence.

I'm going to go without Aguero for a few gamweeks and reasses. Not backtracking immediately. Defence a big issue. Loosing major points to rivals in that department

    Heaton (Pickford)
    Clyne, Bellerin, Stones
Coutinho (c), Payet, Sanchez, Walcott, Firmino
    Lukaku, Austin

Any suggestions on what to do? 1ft 0.7m in bank

No hit. Good luck without Aguero this weekend. Could be a bloodbath for you with the likely sky high (c) on him.

      Should I do this;

Walcott > Firmino & Capoue > Barry or another cheap 4.6 option mid.

After a few blissful weeks holding Diomande and having no benching decision to make as a result, I've just got rid of him for Austin. It means I'll have to bench one of Allen or Defoe but it feels like 8 viable attackers are needed at the moment with Theo's hammy and an international break round the corner (and all the big four South Americans). Now Amat has lost his place and Diomande's suspended, I wasn't happy with only playing sub.

Anyone else going with 8 decent attackers including Allen?

In my sleep deprived, caffeine fueled state, I have just done something that normally I would scoff at the idea of.

      Capoue + Son + Deeney to Redmond + Hazard + Keane (-8)

If he keeps Hazard and Redmond long term and they do well for him, I think it could pay off more than 8 points. Son isn't predicted to do much anymore since Arsenal is next, Kane is near a return, and Janssen may play up top anyways. Hazard could gain good value quickly if he keeps his form up.

i know this is might sound madness but am considering selling kaku to austen to fund son to hazzard there is just no other easy route there....is it unrealistic to think austen can keep parity with lukaku over the next 7 when austen has (Hull, Pool, Everton, Palace, Boro, Stoke, Bournemouth) and kaku has ( Chelsea, Swansea, Southampton, Man U, Watford, Arsenal , Pool). I reckon soton are as good an attacking team as everton with superior fixtures however kakus goal involvement for everton is scary!

Think I could get away with doing Sterling to Hazard without a hit for GW12? Right now it depends on Sterling dropping and Hazard rising. If thats to much of a risk I could drop this week for a -4 however Sterling has a nice fixture. What are your thoughts on this situation?

GW3 was my best score-wise (71) and gameweek rank (27k). 1.8 millionth this week with 60 points.

Gw8, everything before was average at best, the killer was having my worst week directly after in gw9. Now a captain fail in what should have been a beautiful week. Back to mediocrity.

This one and gw5 are tied for me for best score - 83
gw5 had the better gw rank though - 24k (I also managed to bench jaku and fuchs this wk who could have given me an extra 16 pts)

So... What is the deal with Austin? Do we expect him to keep playing? I think he is a very good option at that price with that run of fixtures, but is he nailed?

            Thanks for any insight.

I made it this week but the previous 4 weeks I took hits of -8, -12, -4 & -16 & survived so I was very lucky. This week I was able to save my ft.

            Best option for this week?

            a) Tadic (hul)

            b) Sterling (MID)

Guess it depends on what other fires you have to put out in your team, your number of FTs and whether you are able to field a good starting 11.

Well I want rid of Williams as my defence is in tatters this week, and wouldn't mind keeping Arnie until I find a way of getting Hazard in.

Capoue comes in this week if I keep.

With Capoue 5th mid, it's tricky. Really depends on what you can do with the moves.

Has Capoue completely gone off the boil now?

                  Probably another drop this week.
