As the hours tick down to another Gameweek deadline, it’s time to delve into the data in our next members article of the week.

We get underway by analysing the main contenders in this week’s Captain Poll, then assess the Opta numbers and Rate My Team rankings before suggesting some differentials to help solve your armband conundrum.

The Captain Poll

Sergio Aguero is the runaway winner of this week’s Captain Poll as Man City prepare to host Middlesbrough at the Etihad.

After we’d dared to question his armband credentials, the Argentine returned to form in emphatic fashion, serving up two goals and an assist at the Hawthorns last weekend.

Over 66% of voters are favouring Aguero, who has, somewhat surprisingly, scored just one goal in four home outings. ‘Boro have also stepped up their resilience and roll up on the back of successive clean sheets, including one at the Emirates in their previous road trip.

Kevin De Bruyne could be a deadly differential with just 3% backing. The Belgian has delivered FPL returns in six of nine appearances, though has managed just a goal and two assists at the Etihad.

Philippe Coutinho (5%) takes second spot after upping his consistency in recent weeks.

The Liverpool midfielder entertains Watford in fine form, producing points in four of the last six league outings, and is looking for his third double-figure haul in four at Anfield.

Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane are favoured by around 1%.

The former has been more consistent, with a goal or assist in three of the last four, yet Mane’s home displays may be worth considering – he has returned 34 points in four appearances in front of his own fans.

Alexis Sanchez and Eden Hazard’s recent fine form has failed to convince.

Only 2% are willing to opt for the Chilean ahead of the north London derby. A return to the flank in midweek is a concern for a player who has scored just one of his six goals at the Emirates this season, though he’s expected to lead the line at the expense of Olivier Giroud on Sunday.

Hazard has now netted in three successive Gameweeks and hosts an Everton defence with one clean sheet in six.

Subject to heavy investment this week, the Chelsea wide man been far more reliable at the Bridge – Hazard has scored in four of five top-flight appearances at the Bridge under Antonio Conte.

Chelsea’s run of four straight shut-outs means that less than 1% are prepared to gamble on Romelu Lukaku against his former club, while Diego Costa is also very much overlooked, despite serving up points in eight of the opening 10 Gameweeks.

Hey guys. Is there a way you can see the internal rank history in mini leagues? Which teams were were placed first in GW 1 etc.

    Cheers

Maybe with that tool (program?) that I've seen mentioned on here, where you can track all the captain choices, hits etc in the league?

Totally agree, but its the best i can get out of the team this gw. I dont fancy using a hit to fix my defence for one gw. 🙂 GL

Should I transfer out Sanchez for another hit below (considering his difficult fixtures and international match):
    A. KDB (-4, already have Gundogan & Sanchez)
    B. Hazard (-4, difficult fixtures vs everton)
    C. GTG

    Boruc
    Pieters, Holebas, Evans
    Coutinho, Firmino, Gundogan, Sanchez*
    Aguero, Lukaku, Austin

    Sub: Cech, Capou, Kinsley, Amat

Tottenham defence makes me worry. Thats why I want to replace Sanchez with Hazard/KDB. In addition, Sanchez will goes to MU after international break. What do you think?

Depends who you are getting and if that player will get you big points...ideally save and don't take a hit unless it is critical.

Lack of Luk is a concern. But I guess it's possible Musa could explode over the upcoming gws with their fixtures, and it seems you are set on taking risks to recover lost ground.

Rather stuck with whether I should stick with Sterling. Thoughts?

    Sterling, Firmino, Sanchez, Allen, Fletcher
    Kun Deeney Lukaku
    2.1m ITB

    Options:
    A) GTG
    B) Sterling > Coutinho
    C) Sterling > KDB, Deeney > Austin
    D) Sterling > Hazard

My concerns regarding each options are:

      B) With coutinho, I'd be banking on 2 liverpool players to perform rather than spreading the risk.
      C) There's a slight uncertainty regarding KDB's playing time? And I'd have to take a -4 hit to afford him.
      D) Hazard's fixtures aren't that great, but his new position and form makes him hard to resist.

my team for this week, welcome any thoughts

    343

    Grant
    Lovren; Holebas; Shawcross
    Couthino; Firmino; Sanchez; Sterling
    Aguero; Benteke; Austin

    Bench Pickford; Pieters; Zuniga; Redmond

Q1 thoughts on above, no free transfers left
Q2 Is that the best 3 defenders or should I put Pieters in and remove one of the others, note if Pieters and Shawcross then I am all in almost on Stoke!
Q3 Is it worth swapping Benteke for Bony next week when I have a free transfer or is there a better option.

Note I'm outta cash, down to my last 100k 🙁

    Cheers

Is the Arsenal question marks, plus the lack of Liverpool cover and probable point-getters such as Austin and Gundogan, enough to warrant a 4 pt hit?

How nailed on is Wallcot to maintain his starting position?
And how much further is he likely to drop in value?

me too, I transferred in Couthino this week for Chadli, was tinkering with Gudongan but splashed the cash and now I am broke. Have to see if its money well spent, mine was a free transfer though.

Might just leave it for this week. Chances of Coutinho earning 4 points more than Lallana against Watford at home are probably 50/50. Both should be starters.
