With a break in our open to all Fantasy Premier League cup competition during the midweek fixtures, we spend some time this evening to see who has made it through to fifth round, which takes place during Gameweek 17 this coming weekend.

A reminder that, for this latest contest, there are more than £1,000 worth of prizes for UK based entrants courtesy of our partner FanDuel, as well as £350 in Amazon vouchers to the top three managers at the end of the competition.

In addition the highest scoring manager each round wins a £30 FanDuel credit, with community regular Moin earning this prize after his 65 point Gameweek 15 haul. He next faces msq22 in round five.

The next four highest scoring managers in round four win a £10 FanDuel credit. These will be handed out to Pinky Unites, who scored 63, DJDave1979, who scored 61 along with twobitgooner, and BC1, Bashvilla, Hagop, who all hit the 60 point mark.

The highest placed manager left in the competition is 216 ranked Bacuna Matata, who along with Pink Unites, won a £30 FanDuel voucher for the top highest score back in the third round.

The unfortunate manager to face this early frontrunner to win the competition is lowlifegimpe, who is ranked 337,555.

In a closely fought contest, our only remaining Fantasy Football Scout staff representative, TorresMagic, has made it through to round five, after squeezing past Zambhino10 by just a single point.

The moderator has another tough encounter in store when he takes on Smooth Rossi, who at 6,687 in the overall rankings is more than 7,000 places above him.

Other eye catching ties taking place in round five include Funkyav’s clash with Big Phil Soccer Team and Cobberlsnz taking on Bash Villa, who incidentally sent me packing back in the first round.

The fourth round results can be found via this link, while the full fifth round draw can be found here.

Good luck to those still involved and if you would like more information on the schedule and prizes click this link.

Thoughts on this (a bit different looking) team?

    Pickford
    Toby / Alonso / Azpi
    Sanchez / Payet(c) / Alli / Sigurdsson
    Zlatan / Costa / Origi

Jaku / Pieters / de Roon / Amat

very refreshing to be honest, I like it. But it could go either way. A kane haul, who many will captain, would hurt you badly. or hazard..

    Any thoughts and reasons?

Tricky, but Philips or Rondon. Gylfi is too much of a threat from set pieces to bench him, even though I think there's a good chance of a CS.

It's understandable. A few blanks and poor performances. FPL is about owning the right player at the right time - sometimes you have to react and others you have to anticipate.

At the same time, he's a very good player playing in the team who've scored the most goals this season and this calendar year.

      1. Differentiator
        • 10 Years
        9 years, 4 months ago

4 blanks in a row. The time to sell is long-gone, but at the same time was very unpredictable.

Again, sellers continue to think, for some reason, that Firmino is going to go another 4 without returns... He isn't Arnautovic!

        1. Davido989
          • 15 Years
          9 years, 4 months ago

If you look closely at his stats, he's up there with Hazard.

I genuinely think a lot of people don't realise how good he is. He is a £10m (at least) midfielder priced way cheaper.

Hazard, Sanchez, KDB etc all have blanked 4+ throughout their time in the PL. It happens. Position changes, lack of form, fatigue. It's normal.

There's nothing wrong with keeping, and nothing wrong with selling.

No, sellers don't think he'll go four more without returns. They think other players like Payet or Eriksen will outscore him over the next four. Simple case of form, fixtures and stats not comparing well to the alternatives

Firmino is a bit of a bucket player really.

At times he scores a few goals and he's the best thing since sliced pan, when it dries up he's tripe.

I actually haven't owned him at the right time this year and have bought him possibly three times, yeah three times.

So I'll be honest and not say I have faith he will come good etc because I don't. I just have to move Austin on so Firmino cam sit for now.

Sound plan. I'm holding Firmino too. Worth 1 more at least imo

      Nice team.

People are pretty reactive on here. Taking hits all over the place. Im keeping Firmino.
He will go on a good run pretty soon and be a nice differential.
2ft for the weekend will be gold!!!

        Thinking maybe a Firmino downgrade
and then an Austin upgrade to Tekkers.

Ill probably just hold a wait to see how Firmino plays, Ill also have two ft's then.

    Grant
    Walker Cedric Evans
    Sanchez hazard Firmino Siggy
    Ihaenacho Kane(c) Costa

    Pickford; Fletcher, Amat, Holebas

1FT and 1.4 in the bank.

Thoughts on what to do with my FT - with 2 Spurs already:
    A) Firmino to Eriksen
    B) Save it

    A. Gun to Eriksen
    B. Anichebe to Costa
    C. Firmino + Anichebe > Eriksen + Costa -4

    I'm leaning towards C

B, I'd lose Firmino, but not for a hit

Every GW it's some player who gets the boot from a majority of people.
Haven't seen a week where there's no booting, injuries and suspension aside .

I like when the booted player rips it up.
