Just three days after the previous Gameweek kicked off, we brace ourselves for another round of December fixtures.

As usual, our pre-Gameweek article for members offers an assessment of the main Captain Poll contenders.

Following that, we then check out the Opta numbers and Rate My Team rankings before considering a differential or two to help advise on your armband conundrum ahead of this evening’s 6.45 deadline.

The Captain Poll

Harry Kane is the runaway leader in our Gameweek 16 Captain Poll as Tottenham Hotspur prepare for the visit of Hull City tomorrow evening.

Selected by 46% of voters, the Spurs frontman has netted twice in each of his last two home appearances since a return from injury – he faces a defence that have failed to keep out their opponents since Gameweek 2.

With Kane such a popular pick, his team-mate Christian Eriksen is selected by only 2%.

The Dane has racked up three goals and an assist in the last three Gameweeks, serving up an 18-point haul in his previous home appearance against Swansea City.

Diego Costa’s consistent form has persuaded 15% of the voters as Chelsea make their way to Sunderland.

The Spain international has produced a goal or assist in seven of the Blues’ seven road trips, whereas Eden Hazard has delivered on just three of those occasions.

With just one goal in the last four Gameweeks, only 3% are willing to back the Belgian.

Somewhat surprisingly, Alexis Sanchez earns a mere 9% of the votes for Arsenal’s trip to Everton. The Chilean is seeking a fifth double-figure away haul against a defence that’s without a clean sheet in 11 attempts.

Dimitri Payet and Michail Antonio offer real differential options as West Ham entertain a Burnley side that’s conceded 15 times in six away matches.

Payet’s free-kick at Liverpool on Sunday means he has produced points in each of the last three Gameweeks, while Antonio has bagged two goals and an assist in his previous four.

Liverpool’s in-form pair Sadio Mane and Divock Origi earn just 1% backing for a trip to Middlesbrough.

The former has a goal and four assists in three, though, while Origi has netted in each of his last four in all competitions.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is another overlooked option. Despite netting four times in his last four league outings, the United striker has persuaded just 1% of voters as he travels to a Palace side with a single clean sheet all season.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

I was thinking about it but will chicken out and go for Kane. Marshall is that bad and won't cope with the volume of shots from him

If I sell Walcott to Payet (-4), I'd want him back for GW18 or 19 for Erikssen. TOday, he'd only cost 0.1 more than my SV for him. I can afford up to 0.3 more to buy back and with only 4 days between two deadlines, it's highly unlikely he rises that much. Really feel like Payet will repay the hit and then some over the next 2-3, and Walcott may well rest or be limited in minutes in one of the next two.

    Go for ti?

I had a similar decision but with Eriksen. Opted to do Firmino to Payet and kept Walcott because Everton are poor at the moment.

Maybe there's a chance we get to see the Arsenal lineup a few minutes before deadline. If that's the case and Walcott is rested, I'll swap him for Eriksen. Otherwise I'm keeping

I'm really tempted to pull the trigger on the following for -12 to finally sort my defence out properly.
    OUT
Firmino (shadow of the player without Coutinho),
    Cameron (injured forever),
Lovren (injured or ships copious amounts of goals),
    Dawson (plays for Hull).
    IN
    Antonio (value & fixtures)
Alonso (OOP & best defence in league),
    Amat (will be 5th def),
    Cresswell (fixtures and attacking threat)

    Yay or Nay?

What about Cech to Lloris? Or are there better options?

    Current Team is:
    Cech - Pickford
    Evans - Alonso - Cedric - Amat - Jenkinson
Firm - Sanchez - Siggy - Pedro - De Roon
    Kane (C) - Costa - Kelechi

Is Slimani worth a punt? Think Leicester are gonna have a go now with CL out the way for bit gives the time to focus more on the PL.

Still time to get Carroll, we know he will play, possibly start. Burnley and Hull at home (if he survives long enough) 😛 Cheaper than Nacho and Origi too

I punted on him - surely he'll start at least 1 of the next 2, and should get 30 mins+ in the other imo.

I would say he get 90 minutes over the next two. Hopefully it will be enough to get some returns.

few more hits taken, leading to this team, feel content/confident with this team

    Heaton
    Azpi/Jones/Mcauley
    Sanchez/Siggy/Phillips/Hazard
    Costa/Kane/Defoe

    Bench-Pickford, Amat, Robertson, Fletcher

    Start heaton over pickford right?
    Captain who?
