Just three days after the previous Gameweek kicked off, we brace ourselves for another round of December fixtures.

As usual, our pre-Gameweek article for members offers an assessment of the main Captain Poll contenders.

Following that, we then check out the Opta numbers and Rate My Team rankings before considering a differential or two to help advise on your armband conundrum ahead of this evening’s 6.45 deadline.

The Captain Poll

Harry Kane is the runaway leader in our Gameweek 16 Captain Poll as Tottenham Hotspur prepare for the visit of Hull City tomorrow evening.

Selected by 46% of voters, the Spurs frontman has netted twice in each of his last two home appearances since a return from injury – he faces a defence that have failed to keep out their opponents since Gameweek 2.

With Kane such a popular pick, his team-mate Christian Eriksen is selected by only 2%.

The Dane has racked up three goals and an assist in the last three Gameweeks, serving up an 18-point haul in his previous home appearance against Swansea City.

Diego Costa’s consistent form has persuaded 15% of the voters as Chelsea make their way to Sunderland.

The Spain international has produced a goal or assist in seven of the Blues’ seven road trips, whereas Eden Hazard has delivered on just three of those occasions.

With just one goal in the last four Gameweeks, only 3% are willing to back the Belgian.

Somewhat surprisingly, Alexis Sanchez earns a mere 9% of the votes for Arsenal’s trip to Everton. The Chilean is seeking a fifth double-figure away haul against a defence that’s without a clean sheet in 11 attempts.

Dimitri Payet and Michail Antonio offer real differential options as West Ham entertain a Burnley side that’s conceded 15 times in six away matches.

Payet’s free-kick at Liverpool on Sunday means he has produced points in each of the last three Gameweeks, while Antonio has bagged two goals and an assist in his previous four.

Liverpool’s in-form pair Sadio Mane and Divock Origi earn just 1% backing for a trip to Middlesbrough.

The former has a goal and four assists in three, though, while Origi has netted in each of his last four in all competitions.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is another overlooked option. Despite netting four times in his last four league outings, the United striker has persuaded just 1% of voters as he travels to a Palace side with a single clean sheet all season.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

    Have a backline of

    Lovren, Amat, Holebas, Jenkinson, Martina

    Which 3 to play?

    or Jenkinson ----> Rose (-4)?

    Cheers

I think with more foreign owners (eg WBA) there is more pressure for attacking football than ever before. Pulis has been criticised - even this season - by WBA fans and local media for boring, negative football. Of course they will accept it away @Chelsea but not every week.

In addition, the worldwide fanbase (China, India, USA) which English clubs are ever more keen to please for commercial reasons are much more fickle than traditional football supporters and they want excitement. As a result of all this, the ability of managers to 'build a team from the back' is less than it used to be. Unfortunately in my view, but then I have always enjoyed watching good defending.

Mmmk how do you explain why WBA can't get anywhere close to filling their stadium despite being in the top half of the PL?

Match going fans want excitement too and they don't feel they get it with Tony

          Read my first paragraph.

There are too many unrealistic expectations in my view, WBA couldn't have a better manager than Pulis. A lot of so-called fans are nothing of the sort in any case. When I talk about traditional fans I mean those that would still go to games if their team were in the Championship or League 1.

The absence of (especially) Chinese "supporters" (if that can be defined by wearing a club scarf) at Stamford Bridge last season when Chelsea were struggling was blindingly obvious. Good thing too. I don't enjoy sitting behind people whose main purpose in being there seems to be to take selfies. Unfortunately they are coming back now.

Think spurs rotation is taken way out of proportion.

Imo Kane Eriksen and Alli are all safe from rotation for at least next 3 (HUL BUR sot)

Janssen out till new year, Lamela 2-3 weeks away. Only Son has rotation risk with Sissoko., Agree ?

Lol, I remember (was it two years ago?) when everyone brought in Sánchez and captained him when it was doubtful if he was gonna play.

      Of course - he blanked.

Anyone think that Hull players against their former club may step it up a bit against to prove a point?

Maybe a bit but there's a reason they were let go (not good enough)

If Captain fail = a blank, how many have you had this season? At this point last year, I had 4. This year, 7. 🙁

    Kane vs Hull
Why are people overthinking this captain decision?
It makes sense to me, can someone explain why it doesn't make sense to them?

Dembele is out for this game. That's why there's such a big fuss.

Doesn't Theo like to score goals against Everton? Owners get ready to raise the roof.

Didn't he always score against West Ham too?

He was saving it for Everton. So that means he will score at least twice tonight.
