Kasper Schmeichel will be assessed ahead of Leicester City’s visit to Stoke. Younes Kaboul is back in contention as Watford makes their way to Sunderland, though Palace look set to be without James Tomkins until the middle of next month.

Here’s the news from the pre-Gameweek 17 press conferences so far…

Roberto Pereyra and Stefano Okaka have been ruled out of Watford’s encounter with Sunderland, though Younes Kaboul is back in contention.

Kasper Schmeichel is back in training and could be in line for a return from a recent hand injury. Claudio Ranieri will make a late assessment on his number one and will also check Danny Drinkwater’s knee complaint ahead of the trip to Stoke City.

Bournemouth’s Ryan Fraser is set for scans on an ankle complaint. Eddie Howe has confirmed that Callum Wilson was checked for concussion and has been cleared, though the striker remains a slight doubt for the visit of Southampton after being forced off in midweek with blurred vision.

Dieumerci Mbokani returns to the Hull squad for the weekend trip to Spurs after serving a three-match ban.

Aaron Ramsey is close to returning from injury but remains unavailable for Arsenal’s trip to Man City. Arsene Wenger has also revealed that Danny Welbeck is expected to step up his recovery from injury by returning to training next week.

Jason Puncheon is available for Palace’s clash with Chelsea after serving a one-match ban. Alan Pardew has conceded that James Tomkins is expected to be sidelined until mid-January.

Mark Hughes expects both Marc Muniesa and Eric Pieters to recover from minor problems in time for tomorrow’s visit of Leicester. Marko Arnautovic starts the first of a three-match ban, while Ibrahim Afellay will step up his recovery from a knee injury with a run out for the reserves later today.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline.

We’ve a busy ahead, with this handy hot topic by Ozil highlighting the scheduled times for the remaining press conferences.

Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream for breaking news – as the day unfolds, we will issue updates from Friday’s press conferences and refresh our Team News tab accordingly to keep you informed.

Amongst our main concerns are Eden Hazard, who missed Chelsea’s midweek trip to Sunderland with a knock, while we’re also eagerly awaited for news on Divock Origi – the most transferred in forward for the Gameweek, he picked up a knock towards the end of Liverpool’s win at Middelsbrough.

Pep Guardiola’s afternoon conference is also on the agenda as we wait for word on a potentially season-ending knee injury to Ilkay Gundogan.

Iheanacho out for a hit or leave it until next weeks transfer?

    Pickford (Foster)
Alonso - Jones - Amat (Chambers, Evans)
Sanchez - Mane - Pedro - Sigurdsson (de Roon)
    Ibrahimovic - Kane - Iheanacho

First ask yourself, will he start? - Probably not?
Ok, will he come off the bench? See A and B

      A) He comes off the bench, will he score? Probably not. 1 point
      B) He doesn't come off the bench, you get De Roon in. - 2 points?

So transfer out you're starting on -4 for whoever you transfer in, lets say Andy Carroll. All you need is a goal and you're sorted, even if its just a 2 point swing. No point saving for next week if you're getting rid anyways.

Long-Term, do we expect Welbeck to start up front and Sanchez shifted out to the wing? Or will Welbz play on the wing with Sanchez in the middle? The later seems a very Wenger thing to do.

I won't be shipping Sanchez for a long time anyways but just wondering.

Fantasy Football Scoutr daily hot topic

Who will be GWK 17's best differential?

I think the WHU v HUL game has some great options. Carroll of course. Noble for penalties and Lanzini as well.

for those who like to take their fantasy island risks to the max there's a surprise entry in at number 7 on my latest goals imminent table. 0.1% ownership. http://members.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/my-stats-tables/view/6070/

Indeed - he leapt off in style.

The table has been so successful in recent weeks that its usual 10 strong line up was reduced to just Firmino and Rondon last week.

As a West Ham fan I'd be very wary of going for too many West Ham options, we're not by any means free scoring.

I'd have to say Cresswell is a great option as I imagine we'll be fairly defensive if we get a lead. Also has the potential for any attacking returns as most of what we do is geared up to get it out to him/Antonio and whip it in for Carroll.

Lanzini - Brilliant little player, sporadic in terms of goals and assists but could be a great differential at a low price.
Antonio - I'd rather have him than Lanzini (And I do), more consistent, top goalscorer. Out of position at RWB but it really doesn't stop him. After Payet, our biggest attacking force.
Payet - Expensive, if you can afford then why not but I don't see West Ham scoring many goals.
Noble - Penalties is literally all he has from an FPL perspective. Cheap 5th mid maybe?

I'm not joking: Isaac Success. Very left field I know, but I think he has looked dangerous and direct every time he has been on the pitch. If he is fit and plays, he could have a field day.

Not feeling confident about West Ham assets, I've got Payet but don't think I will add further as they didn't play well on Wednesday. All West Ham fans I know seem to be talking down their players at the moment, particularly Payet who is playing at 50% of his powers, apparently.

    A: Ake (SOU)

    1: Grant (LEI)
    2: Pickford (WAT)

I have same GK, would be going with Grant given foxes poor away record, but I have Pieters so no double up for me.

People here say (rightly I believe) that take each position in isolation, I.e. GK choice shouldn't have a bearing on which def to play. That said, clean sheets are not a given and this season has been one the hardest to find the 4.5m def in a team that appear solid (I remember Birmingham a few years ago were great for this). Personally, don't think Sunderland will keep a clean sheet but Pickford save points is another thing to consider.

    Hi guys,

Below is a brief analysis of the 5 referees with the highest penalties/games ratio from Premier League games this season as well as the games they're in charge of over the festive period.

    Mike Dean – 9 penalties in 13 games 0.69/game (0.39 last season)
    Everton v Liverpool 19/12/16
    Southampton v Spurs 28/12/17
    West Ham v United 02/01/17

    Michael Oliver - 7 penalties in 14 games 0.5/game (0.23 last season)
    Liverpool v Stoke 27/12/16
    Watford v Spurs 01/01/17
    Bournemouth v Arsenal 03/01/17

    Robert Madley - 6 penalties in 14 games 0.43/game (0.5 last season)
    Sunderland v Watford 17/12/16
    Hull v City 26/12/16
    Chelsea v Stoke 31/12/16
    Middlesbrough v Leicester 02/01/17

    Lee Mason - 5 penalties in 8 games 0.63/game (0.18 last season)
    West Ham v Hull 17/12/16
    United v Middlesbrough 31/12/16
    City v Burnley 02/01/17

    Mike Jones – 3 penalties in 9 games 0.33/game (0.11 last season)
    Chelsea v Bournemouth 26/12/16
    Southampton v West Brom 31/12/16

Also worth nothing for those thinking of captaining Kane v Burnley this weekend is that Kevin Friend has only given one penalty in the Premier League this season.

Secondly Anthony Taylor has given out 4 penalties and 3 red cards in his 14 games in charge this season and he will be refereeing the West Brom v United game this weekend.

    Hope this helps.

Exactly. It's a bit of a joke. "I was all set to captain Kane and then I found out that the ref in that game has only given one penalty ALL season so there is no way I'm doing it now"

The fact that you are thinking this just shows you you should
Sell Kos for that money he shouldn't be behind a Swansea defender. Regarding a decision this
Week It is Boro and they don't really like Scoring and arsenal don't keep
Many clean sheets so understandable go
With your gut and do it

        Thanks

Unfortunately already made a transfer this week and so don't see any merit in taking him out for a hit this week. Given I've held, I will look for a cleansheet next week and if not he'll be gone.

I got rid of Kosc two weeks ago for Alonso (i could also go TOT defender). Arsenal cant keep a CS this season and for that money you get much more value elsewhere. As for this GW I think Amat should be ahead BUT Kosc has the attacking threat. You know.. derbies and Defender headers etc...Follow your gut

Had a bad week, dropped from 550 overall to 1065 overall. Team is as below and I have 2 FT

    Pickford Cech
    Amat, Clyne, Daniels, Holebas, Nyom
    Sanchez, Hazard, Mane, Allen, Philips
    Defoe Nacho Costa
Assuming Hazard will be fit should i do:
    A) Allen and Nacho to Carroll and Eriksen
    B) Mane and Nacho to Ibra and Lallana (still leaves me with Allen and Philups)
    C) Something else, possibly involving a hit?

    1. Bubi

      C)

      Nacho > Origi
Clyne/Daniels or Cech > Chelsea def

Not convinced about West Ham players at all.

Chelsea at the back are must have right now.

Mane looks everytime very dangerous, but Eriksen stats are pretty good.
