Dugout Discussion – Bournemouth vs Southampton

The first of three Sunday afternoon fixtures gets underway at the Vitality Stadium as Bournemouth entertain Southampton in the 1.30pm kick-off.

Eddie Howe’s side have chalked up four clean sheets in eight matches in front of their own fans, with Charlie Daniels and Steve Cook heading into Gameweek 17 amongst the top seven scoring Fantasy Premier League defenders.

The out of position Adam Smith has also piqued our interest on the right flank, while Nathan Ake budget price tag made him the number one defender for transfers in ahead of the weekend.

Up against a Saints side with three goals in the last seven Gameweeks, Howe’s defence could plunder the points once again.

Bearing in mind that Southampton have served up four clean sheets in the previous five, goals may be hard to come by in this one.

Owners of Cedric Soares will be relieved as the right-back recovers from illness to return to Claude Puel’s starting XI.

    Is Costa to Ibra the popular move this week?

    Was contemplating upgrading the non playing Kingsley to Valencia to strengthen my squad and benching Costa for his suspension... Is Ibra at home to Sunderland a must have??

        Ibra is not a must have no. If you need to improve your squad and you want to keep Costa then sort the rest of your team.

        Depends how much you gain to lose on Costa. If you got him early then benching him for a game is probably the best option

        Not a must have. The strength of your squad in the mid-long term will get you more points than a 1 weeker on any player. Play to the strength and hold Costa. Costa to Ibra and back is only worth it imo if you can do it on FT - regardless of TV.

          Defensively it's poor. Very poor. Azpi looks like a guaranteed 9+ each game which is outstanding value and somewhat of a differential. His price is only going to go up too

      Hi. Why wasn't the cup's round 5 played last GW? Why was there a break? That's completely unfair, really. My cup opponent who has a very bad rank, made 15 transfers last gameweek to fix his team. Now, he's going to beat me.

          The fixtures and the Gameweeks were announced well before it started. There was no FFS cup in GW 16 because it was in midweek.

            Why is it unfair? Because he has had a better understanding of the rules than you and used an open date in the cup to sort his team out and gain an advantage. You could have done the same if you had paid attention to the rules like your opponent did
