Tuesday night treats us to three more matches as the festive schedule finally starts to wind up.

Bournemouth and Arsenal go head-to-head at the Vitality Stadium in the 7.45pm kick-off, with Olivier Giroud looking to score for the third successive match – the Frenchman opened 2017 in style, thanks to his scorpion kick effort at home to Palace. He starts for the third successive outing this evening.

Second in our Gameweek 20 Captain Poll, Alexis Sanchez is looking for a fifth double-figure haul on his travels, yet faces a resilient Cherries rearguard that’s served up four clean sheets in front of their own supporters. Sanchez remains on the flank as a result of Giroud’s start but has fired in 17 attempts from that position in the last two Gameweeks – more than any other player.

Christian Benteke and Wilfried Zaha will look to take advantage of Swansea City’s dire defence in an 8pm kick-off at Selhurst Park.

The Belgian has the chance to play his way into consideration as the schedule turns in Palace’s favour, though Zaha owners will be searching for a way out after tonight’s fixture as he’s set to depart for the Africa Cup of Nations.

Finally, Stoke City entertain Watford in the other later match as Joe Allen and Etienne Capoue go head-to-head in the battle of the budget midfielders.

With the likes of Matt Phillips and Robert Snodgrass stepping up in form over Christmas, owners of both Allen (one goal since Gameweek 8) and Capoue (a single strike since Gameweek 5), will surely be considering their options over the FA Cup weekend break.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Fwiw I think Walcott has a viable threat on the wing in Perez now. Plays the same style as Walcott too.

Walcott Perez Oxlade Iwobi Alexis all have similar styles... There's only one Giroudnthough. He's safe for at least a few games, injury permitting.

Yeah, it's a bummer. Giroud getting minutes leaves one less slot on the wing too. I know Alexis plays on the left, but it's still not a good thing for Theo. Still, when's he been fit, Walcott's been a regular starter so I wouldn't disregard him altogether yet.

I wildcarded this week. On 69 (will be 68 or 67 when they reduce Pieters baps) with Alli & Costa to play. I was a bit worried yesterday when I was on 35 but Sanchez (c), Giroud & Pieters were great for me today.

I dont ussually taking hits but how does the below look..

    Benteke Haz Azpi Toby

    >

    Aguero Alli Ake Gibson

    - 8 ??

    Would give a team of

    Grant
    Ake Reid Gibson
    Lallana Sanchez Alli Phillips
    Costa Zlatan Aguero (C)

    Pickford De Roon McAuley Amat

    1. Maximus Bonimus Pointimus

Madness imo - keep Toby for a start, he is the next big thing. Haz has managerless hull at home coming up so keep for that game at least. Aguero is dead to me - so many other cheaper strikers will score more than him (Costa, Kane, Ibra, Lukaku, Giroud, Defoe)

Getting in Alli is a great call though he looks on fire, plus Ake looks great too.

Wenger arguing that Arsenal had 24 hours less preparation for the game and that's very true. So why didn't he plan for it? Why does he play the same tactics, with virtually the same team as the game 48 hours earlier? A wise manager would have kept that game tight and looked to win it late on.

Wenger whinging about Bournemouth having an extra days recovery. You could buy the Bournemouth team for what they played for Sanchez. Blame your defence for conceding 3 against a team less than 2 seasons in Premier League and your attack who only scored three against a poor defence, reduced to 10 men near the end.
