Gabriel Jesus is in the goals again as Sergio Aguero gets accustomed to life on the Manchester City bench. Gylfi Sigurdsson’s renaissance under Paul Clement continues, while Henrikh Mkhitaryan delivers his biggest haul of the season as both Manchester clubs impress ahead of their looming blank Gameweek.

Gabriel Jesus
Retaining his role as City’s central forward at home to Swansea City, the Brazilian required just over 10 minutes to find the net once again.

Subject to more acquisitions than any other Fantasy Premier League asset ahead of Gameweek 24 after his midweek goal and assist at West Ham, Jesus also went on to grab a late winner in another superb showing. He’s now set for a collision with a Bournemouth defence that’s just been hit for six at Goodison Park.

Already, over 48,000 FPL managers have swooped for the Samba starlet since yesterday’s deadline, yet a blank Gameweek 26 and another likely in Gameweek 28 will surely slow the bandwagon, despite a favourable trip to Sunderland sandwiched between those fixtures.

Nonetheless, Guardiola’s teamsheet certainly indicated that the new arrival has barged his way into the first XI, ensuring there will be huge interest in his services once the double Gameweeks scheduled.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan
A goal and assist at the King Power Stadium helped the Armenian to a first double-figure haul of the season as his influence on United’s attack continues to grow.

After drawing blanks in his first six appearances over the opening 14 Gameweeks, Mkhitaryan now has three goals and an assist in his subsequent eight league outings.

Similar to Manchester City, though, United’s lack of a Gameweek 26 fixture, allied with the fact that they would also miss Gameweek 28 if they progress to the FA Cup quarter-finals, quashes their immediate appeal.

With a mere 2% FPL ownership, Mkhitaryan is clearly shaping up as an enticing differential option for our five-man midfields once those blanks have been navigated.

Antonio Valencia
The right-back is another who’ll surely find his way into many managers’ plans once the double Gameweeks are confirmed.

After failing to produce any attacking returns in the opening 20 rounds of fixtures, Valencia has since supplied an assist in two of the last four Gameweeks.

With Jose Mourinho shuffling his options elsewhere in defence, the Ecuadorian appears to be the most secure route into a rearguard that has now served up three clean sheets in the last five, conceding just two goals over that spell.

Gylfi Sigurdsson
Swansea’s playmaker goes from strength to strength under new manager Paul Clement.

Bagging the consolation in today’s narrow loss at City, Sigurdsson has now racked up three goals and two assists in the five matches since Bob Bradley departed the Liberty Stadium.

That resurgent form has helped him climb into fifth spot in the FPL midfield standings as the Welsh side prepare for a superb run of upcoming fixtures.

Clashes with Leicester City, Burnley, Hull City, Bournemouth and Middlesbrough in the next six, added to the fact that Swansea are one of only six clubs currently set to play in both Gameweek 26 and 28, have already brought plenty of new owners Sigurdsson’s way.

Among FPL midfielders, only Chelsea’s Eden Hazard has earned more transfers since the passing of yesterday’s deadline.

Luciano Narsingh
The Swansea new boy came off the bench to impress once again, strengthening his claim for a starting role at home to Leicester next time out.

Utilised as a late substitute for the second successive Gameweek, Narsingh has now provided assists in both his appearances for the to suggest there is more than just Sigurdsson to consider among Clement’s charges.

If he can cement a role in the first XI next weekend, a price of 5.5 may well turn a few heads as we look for budget-friendly methods to navigate the tricky fixture schedule.

In Decline

Sergio Aguero
After benching him against West Ham, Pep Guardiola was quick to point out that the Argentine could easily play alongside Gabriel Jesus in his front three.

With a home clash against Swansea up next, the vast majority of Aguero’s 19% FPL owners subsequently kept the faith – he was subject to just 39,450 sales ahead of Gameweek 24.

Yet Pep named Aguero among the substitutes once again, affording him just a handful of minutes off the bench as City went chasing a late winner.

Priced at 12.8 and without a fixture in Gameweek 26, the Aguero exodus is well and truly up and running as Jesus’ impact puts pay to his “essential” tag once and for all.

As an Arsenal fan I dont trust us V Hull, it has 1 -1 all over it.

Rather captain Jesus if I owned him but theres no point bringing him in now with 2/4 weeks having blanks.

    Probs captain Ibra

After a 48 points gameweek (including Kun (C)) think I'll be set well for gw28 but need to maximize points up until then.

    Valdes Jaku

    Brunt Baines Coleman Alonso Amat

Sanchez Alli Siggy Phillips De Roon

    Lukaku Carroll Ibra

    £4.3m itb

Thinking after Cup weekend and assuming all Prem clubs progress then for gw26 worth doing Sanchez & Ibra for Hazard & Kane (C) for a (-4)?

Would leave me 2 transfers to upgrade De Roon & Amat to field 10.

    1. DanwiseTheBrave
      • 14 Years

Honestly I think Sanchez and Ibra should be the two you keep for the blanks, you'll want them back.

      1. JogaSemmedo
        • 11 Years

That's what I had planned to do but two great fixtures for Chelsea and Spurs in 26! Then get Sanchez & Ibra back on wild card later perhaps.

      1. JogaSemmedo
        • 11 Years
        9 years, 5 months ago

That's part of the dilemma. Not having Kane for gw26 is tempting but then Ibra for gw27 even more so! Double blank though means favour Kane slightly

  7. DanwiseTheBrave
    • 14 Years
    9 years, 5 months ago

    I'm thinking:

Eriksen, Lovren, Mirallas > Siggy, Snodgrass, Coleman(-4)

    Foster
    Lovren, Alonso, Evans*
    Sanchez, Eriksen, Phillips, Mirallas
    Ibra, Kane, Lukaku

    Grant, Holebas, De Roon, Amat

    2FT, 0.2m

Need to sell Eriksen to fund the upgrades of Mirallas and Lovren so can't just do 2 of them.
The other option is selling Kane, but I'm not sure I want to do that.

    Worth a -4?

    1. DanwiseTheBrave
      • 14 Years
      9 years, 5 months ago

Wouldn't want to lose Eriksen but can he maintain the output he had past couple months? The three you want to bring could outscore the 3 outgoing and cover blanks so sensible.

So Many dilemmas . Cant wait for the scoutcast

    - Sell Ibra or Sanchez after next gw (or keep both )

    - Costa or Hazard as chelsea cover

    - Keep or sell Spurs assets

    - Should we keep on ignoring mancity assests due to blanks(jesus sterling)

    - Picking 3 strikers from ( Ibra Kane Lukaku Costa Defoe Jesus)

    1. InSaneMan-e

      Agree, have the same dilemma
-Selling Sanchez. After gw 26 Ibra has Bou H, Sanchez has Liverpool A
-Depends here. Haz probably for me, but that's only because my front 3 will have Kane,Lukaku Defoe. Costa if Liverpool wake up and I want Mane/Firms/Couts
-I'm holding onto spurs, but that's purely because of my limited transfers!
-Keeping away from City assets till after the blank personally
-Current front line of Ibra Kane Lukaku. Replacement will depend on players that hit form (and cash to spare)

      Nice team
But why not Ibra in the WC
      Then next gw, do Ibra-->Costa?
I know you also have Sanchez with the blank, but Ibra is a cap nominee this gw

    Long Post Alert:

While looking at the fixtures and deciding the captains we look at the team our player is playing against.
Now my question is, at this stage of the League is it time to change our perspective?

    Bottom 6 Right Now:

    15. Middlesbrough -------------------------------- 21 Points
    16. Leicester --------------------------------------- 21 Points
    17. Swansea City --------------------------------- 21 Points
    18. Hull City ---------------------------------------- 20 Points
    19. Crystal Palace -------------------------------- 19 Points
    20. Sunderland ------------------------------------ 19 Points

Even Though we consider them as Easy Fixtures, is it time to look at them a bit differently because they will now play more defensive and look to at least draw if not win against other teams?

    9. West Ham ------------------------------------- 31 Points
    10. Watford --------------------------------------- 30 Points
    11. Stoke City ------------------------------------ 29 Points
    12. Burnley --------------------------------------- 29 Points

Looks like they will be at the middle of the table and don't have much to fight about, so they might let their guards down and the other teams can score well against them.

I don't think any of those teams will consider themselves safe, plenty to fight for.

I doubt 9, 10, 11 & 12 will ease of right now not before they reach 40 points.

When 9-12 get to 40pts, then they'll let their guard down.

      Not before then

      Not long enough 😉

I think this will be applied once we cross 30 games, at the moment they will try to give their best

Yes, sort of, but also the attacking options in the bottom teams. They will have to play well in the fight.
Hence Siggy, Defoe are good options

But tbh 2 games can change the whole thing. Burnley and Bournmouth for ex, could easily lose the next 2 and join the relegation fight

Yeah you have a little while yet before the players stop caring - it'll be when they hit the 40pts

a better tactic might be to look at opponents of teams in a major defensive slump (Bournemouth, Leicester, Palace)

    Morning guys

    Would you save ft here?

    Jaku / Randolph
Alonso Pieters Funes Mori / Brunt Amat
Alli Sanch Antonio KdB / Fletcher
    Ibra (c) Rondon Kaku
    1ft 0.7 itb

Save or do KdB to Siggy / Rondon to Llorente?

Also - play which 2 Brunt, Rondon or Pieters? Reckon Pieters cos palace are so bad and Brunty scores his points at home.

    Thanks!

Save imo.Kdb against Bournemouth a good pick.Rondon to Liorent could be a good one but you can wait whe he will score? If not get Liorente

Cheers dude. I think I agree, Siggy with LEI then back vs. old club is appealing but I guess I can leave it and have the 2fts over the next long cup break.

Idk about Llorente in for Rondon. Just feels a bit sideways to me and, as you say, he'll Def score if I remove him

        Thanks mate.

thinking about sanchez to hazard because of the gw 26 blank? should i wait till after the hull game? 1 FT but also want to get rid of Cech?

    Cech Jaku

Yes. Hull got better but Sanchez still playing false nine might be very dangerous. Chelsea away and Hull home its a different story.

    A - sell Eriksen
    B - sell Ali
C - keep both & go without Siggy

I sold Alli. Depper position on the field. No shots. Was subbed by Winks. Son looked better. Eriksen is the main creator. Was unlucky not to score. On set pieces. Cheaper.

yup I have more value tied up in Eriksen too so might keep. Just got Alli in at the wrong time... but his potential for hauls scares me... decisions..

Pedro to Siggy made. So my team now:

    Grant - Randolph
    Alonso - Rose - Baines - (Brunt - Love)
    Sanchez - Alli - Siggy - Phillips - (Stanislas)
    Ibra - Lukaku - Jesus

The next movements are perhaps Ibra to Costa and Stanislas to Snoddy, how does it sound?

Or just Stanislas to King.. But no Chelsea cover then, hmm..

    Kane Lukaku Jesus

    Jak Phillips Mcaluey Rose

Solid team. If i were you I'd personally save the transfer and possibly do two free transfers the week after to get rid of Jesus and Sanchez as they both have a blank in GW26. I'd possibly swap Jesus for Costa before gw26 deadline (Chelsea have Swansea at home) and swap Sanchez for Siggy maybe. 4 of siggys next 5 fixtures are very favourable.

After 10 red arrows from 12 between GWs 9 and 20 with an overall rank of 684,881, I decided to be patient again and not chasing "last week's points" or any price changes. These damn price changes were making me take wrong decisions so I can acquire some more money in the bank.

The last 4 GWs I started again making transfers at the end of the week by having more information at hand. Result is after yesterday's GW rank of 16,985 I am now in OR 259,367 and 4 consecutive green arrows. During these last 4 GWs I lost some money, but I gained something more important; points.

Kept faith in Hazard, Heaton, Sanchez, Valencia, Alonso and Ibra. Got Lukaku this GW and captained him. 97 points. Keep faith with the players who have history. Form is temporary. Class is permanent.

No I don't. Aguero used to be my first player when selecting my team. He is pure class. But you cannot have a player costing almost 13M with no guarantees of playing every game for 90 mins. I removed him after his tackle on Luiz and did not get him again.

Agree. I'm now bandwagoning on Jesus, Siggy, Lukaku yet (although yesterday was painful) as I just know the ones I take out will be scoring

I've kept faith in Defoe and he keeps repaying

I wanted to get Siggy this GW as well but I went for Zaha. Still think Zaha will get some points in the next few GWs.

Even if you didn't show patience and just captained Lukaku yesterday, you would be doing pretty the same hike imo. 🙂

If I didn't show patience I may have 12-20 less points since sometimes to chase last week's points I have to make more than 1 FT. What I'm saying is that I did well the last few seasons by being patient so I decided to do the same again. Obviously it's easier said than done (ex. I kept Firmino too long when Spurs mids were showing form).

Seems to be 2nd choice CB so should be nailed in 4 or 5 at the back formations.

Whether he's a better option than Brunt though I'm not sure

I agree, just looking at him for 4th def with GW26+28 options being plum home ties

May still bottle it and go for Brunt 🙂

So, if ever the DGW are on the 36-37, it just isn't worth keeping the chips imo.
By then, Chelsea may already be proclaimed Champion, and there will be loads of rotations.

I'd still get Alonso. Double up doesn't look too bad considering the fixtures and Alonso is so attacking. Walker's attacking potential will be curtailed whilst Rose is injured.

    Heaton
    Luiz/ Cedric/ Walker
    Hazard/ Lallana/ Sanchez/ Phillips
    Kane/ Lukaku/ Benteke

    Robinson/ Amat/ J. Evans/ De Roon

    no idea what to do.

    Maybe Cedric to Coleman?
