Gabriel Jesus is in the goals again as Sergio Aguero gets accustomed to life on the Manchester City bench. Gylfi Sigurdsson’s renaissance under Paul Clement continues, while Henrikh Mkhitaryan delivers his biggest haul of the season as both Manchester clubs impress ahead of their looming blank Gameweek.

Gabriel Jesus
Retaining his role as City’s central forward at home to Swansea City, the Brazilian required just over 10 minutes to find the net once again.

Subject to more acquisitions than any other Fantasy Premier League asset ahead of Gameweek 24 after his midweek goal and assist at West Ham, Jesus also went on to grab a late winner in another superb showing. He’s now set for a collision with a Bournemouth defence that’s just been hit for six at Goodison Park.

Already, over 48,000 FPL managers have swooped for the Samba starlet since yesterday’s deadline, yet a blank Gameweek 26 and another likely in Gameweek 28 will surely slow the bandwagon, despite a favourable trip to Sunderland sandwiched between those fixtures.

Nonetheless, Guardiola’s teamsheet certainly indicated that the new arrival has barged his way into the first XI, ensuring there will be huge interest in his services once the double Gameweeks scheduled.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan
A goal and assist at the King Power Stadium helped the Armenian to a first double-figure haul of the season as his influence on United’s attack continues to grow.

After drawing blanks in his first six appearances over the opening 14 Gameweeks, Mkhitaryan now has three goals and an assist in his subsequent eight league outings.

Similar to Manchester City, though, United’s lack of a Gameweek 26 fixture, allied with the fact that they would also miss Gameweek 28 if they progress to the FA Cup quarter-finals, quashes their immediate appeal.

With a mere 2% FPL ownership, Mkhitaryan is clearly shaping up as an enticing differential option for our five-man midfields once those blanks have been navigated.

Antonio Valencia
The right-back is another who’ll surely find his way into many managers’ plans once the double Gameweeks are confirmed.

After failing to produce any attacking returns in the opening 20 rounds of fixtures, Valencia has since supplied an assist in two of the last four Gameweeks.

With Jose Mourinho shuffling his options elsewhere in defence, the Ecuadorian appears to be the most secure route into a rearguard that has now served up three clean sheets in the last five, conceding just two goals over that spell.

Gylfi Sigurdsson
Swansea’s playmaker goes from strength to strength under new manager Paul Clement.

Bagging the consolation in today’s narrow loss at City, Sigurdsson has now racked up three goals and two assists in the five matches since Bob Bradley departed the Liberty Stadium.

That resurgent form has helped him climb into fifth spot in the FPL midfield standings as the Welsh side prepare for a superb run of upcoming fixtures.

Clashes with Leicester City, Burnley, Hull City, Bournemouth and Middlesbrough in the next six, added to the fact that Swansea are one of only six clubs currently set to play in both Gameweek 26 and 28, have already brought plenty of new owners Sigurdsson’s way.

Among FPL midfielders, only Chelsea’s Eden Hazard has earned more transfers since the passing of yesterday’s deadline.

Luciano Narsingh
The Swansea new boy came off the bench to impress once again, strengthening his claim for a starting role at home to Leicester next time out.

Utilised as a late substitute for the second successive Gameweek, Narsingh has now provided assists in both his appearances for the to suggest there is more than just Sigurdsson to consider among Clement’s charges.

If he can cement a role in the first XI next weekend, a price of 5.5 may well turn a few heads as we look for budget-friendly methods to navigate the tricky fixture schedule.

In Decline

Sergio Aguero
After benching him against West Ham, Pep Guardiola was quick to point out that the Argentine could easily play alongside Gabriel Jesus in his front three.

With a home clash against Swansea up next, the vast majority of Aguero’s 19% FPL owners subsequently kept the faith – he was subject to just 39,450 sales ahead of Gameweek 24.

Yet Pep named Aguero among the substitutes once again, affording him just a handful of minutes off the bench as City went chasing a late winner.

Priced at 12.8 and without a fixture in Gameweek 26, the Aguero exodus is well and truly up and running as Jesus’ impact puts pay to his “essential” tag once and for all.

A lot of people have gone religious on this site

I have never seen so many people discovering Jesus since Billy Graham came to town a few years back

Some people don't look one week ahead

Be interesting to have a straw poll on this site to see how many have actually brought him in

I wanted to buy him last week, but didn't because of the blanks.... But now I'm left wondering whether I could actually have just benched him... I hope City progress in FA Cup, he'll have the blanks, and then buy him for GW29 with two doubles to come (although he's likely to be benched for one game of a double anyway)...

Huddersfield are playing well and are currently in the play off spots so it not beyond the realm of possibility they could beat City but they also could field a weakened team and concentrate on the championship playoffs. The other thing is City only have 3 days rest between the Huddersfield game and the CL game against Monaco

Im very tempted to bring him in for just one week. This isn't as nuts as it first sounds. With the blanks on the horizon, long term planning is very difficult and short term moves could be profitable

    -----------------Foster------------------
    -----Alonso Coleman Pieters-----
    Sanchez Alli Sigurdsson Phillips
    -----Ibrahimovic Lukaku Jesus----
    ----------------------------------------------
    Pickford Antonio Brunt Daniels

    Gw26: Sanchez to Hazard
    Gw27: Save FT
GW28: Pieters Alli to Baines Snodgrass

    Leaves 10 men for gw28:

    -----------------Foster-----------------
    Coleman Baines Daniels Brunt
    Siggy Antonio Phillips Snodgrass
    ----------------Lukaku------------------

Had more money tied up in Ibra and he has 2 doubles to come so don't mind benching him. Plus Ibra has the fixture where he could do a Lukaku. Didn't fancy double Spurs attack anymore and also have money tied up in Alli.

    RP - bottomed

Evening chaps, have pulled myself out of the sub 1m OR mire to a much more respectable 330k on the back of a few good GWs and Big Rom. Keen to continue in this vein - is the following too kneejerky?

    Heaton (Foster)
Alonso - Coleman - Pieters (Brunt, Love)
Sanchez - Haz - Alli - Phillips (De Roon)
    Zlat - Lukak - Crouch

    1FT, 0.3 ITB

    Sanchez + Crouch > Siggy + Jesus (-4)

Concerned at Crouchy's gametime and Sanchez's blanks / performance against a resurgent Hull. Plus Jesus v Bournemouth and Siggy v Leicester could be very profitable...

Would ideally like to do before tonight's rises - what do you think gents?

    A. Kane and Jones to Defoe and Alonso for a hit
    Or
    B. Eriksen and jones to Siggy and Azpi/Cahill/Cahill for a hit

    Which one??
If i do A I will do Stanislas to Siggy in GW 27
It's kind of Eriksen vs Kane, but I won't get Defoe in C and also in A I will get Alonso instead of Azpi

What kind of midfielder is Alfred N'Diaye? I thought he was defensive but he seemed to play no 10 on his goal scoring debut for Hull

Could be a great cheap 5th mid at 4.5 with juicy 26 and 28 fixtures.

His history certainly seems to put the D in DM, though it's the number 10 on his shirt at Hull. With luck he'll be another example of Silva finding the hidden talents in forgotten players.

Those of you who are members and may own both Alli/Eriksen. I highly suggest you do a comparison between Alli/Eriksen in the members players comparison tool over the last two gameweeks since Son has started and Spurs have been playing a back four.

With Siggy on the rise and great form plus the fixtures and the fact I don't have him yet, I am definitely looking to bringing him in for one of these two.

Hmmm...comparison tool for last six weeks confirms what I thought it would.

Eriksen wins on everything, passing, involvement, chance creation...but no end product.

Alli does bugger all...apart from end product, where he massively outscores Eriksen.

But end product wins the FPL day, so I'd look to keep Alli

Is that how you read it?

I don't think you can compare the last six gameweeks due to the formation change (Rose out / four at the back and Son starting) unless they go back to a back 3.

However, reduce it to the last two GWs since Rose got injured...yeah it's pretty one-sided in Eriksen's favour.

Can't go wrong with Coleman, though not sure for a -4, unless you are only playing 10 men with Ake not playing?

    Pick one to bench:

    1. Phillips
    2. Pieters
    3. Brunt

Stoke looking good at home. Thinking of benching Phillips at this stage.

I know a lot of people out there are having the same dilemma.. lets get a decent poll going!

    Who to sell?

Watched the MID game, both unlucky not to have hauls. Essentially Son is doing a Rose as Poch doesn't trust Bavies to go up & down.
