Our final Tuesday evening article delves into membersโ€™ data, as we take our usual scan of some of the standout numbers over the weekendโ€™s ten fixtures.

We compare Gabriel Jesusโ€™ displays with those of Sergio Aguero at Manchester City and check up on the recent performances of Swansea City’s and Manchester Unitedโ€™s in-demand midfielders.

The impact of Philippe Coutinho since returning from injury comes under the spotlight, while we also analyse the frontmen at Everton and Crystal Palace after a weekend of wildly contrasting fortunes.

    I. Choose one for next few games after this week:

    A) Funes Mori + Ibra (blank, Bou, ?, Boro) (Holebas will play in blank)
    B) Baines + Costa (Swa, WHU, ?, Stk) for -4

II. Alonso, Holebas, Holgate, Friend*, Evans* (IF they will be out)

    a) hope than Holebas will play
    b) Friend > Funes Mori for -4

Saw it too. But it looked too sideways. The other option will be to get siggy for alli but then I think alli will outscore him over the next 3 nd I'll swap before gw28. Conversely, I could use d spare cash to upgrade PVA to Alonso but it will be for a -4

Biddava special case though -- Boro played Adama Traore "right mid" -- he did precisely zero tracking back and Son was one on one with Chambers throughout -- they just kept giving it to him time after time till they eventually got the breakthrough with the penalty

I cannot see any other team playing so suicidally that Spurs just decide to keep doing one thing multiple times

        Also horrible management from Karanka

    Chelsea's next 14 fixtures:

bur, SWA, whu, WAT, stk, CRY, MCI, bou, mun, SOU, eve, MID, wba, SUN

Only City and United are the fixtures where they might not keep a CS and maybe Everton away.

A double up on Alonso + Luiz/Cahill/Azpi is definitely a viable strategy.

    Appreciate your thoughts!

    1. Watford in GW28 could be moved for a DGW which would also be pretty tasty.
Alonso, Azpi and Hazard for me.

Yes and if it moves to GW34 they face Soton at home and if 37 Brom away. 2 easy clean sheets I reckon.

        1. Nothing is easy in the Premier League mate.

It's not easy I know. But that defence is too strong and add to that Kante & Matic all I can see is clean sheets now.

League could be won even in theory in 34, certainly will be in 37. That could mean lots of experimenting.
I own bot Alonso and Azpi but will most likely shift to offensive players if league is a done deal

They have already face 3 of the Top 6 and a 9 point lead.

1-0s is the way to go for them now and Conte I reckon knows how to do that.

might stick with hazard through the sanchez blanks

How does this look for a Gameweek 28 plan?

    Current Team—
    Heaton Pickford
Alonso Baines McAuley van Aanholt Love
    Sánchez Eriksen Alli Sigurdsson Phillips
    Kane Ibrahimovic Barnes

GW 26— Sánchez, Barnes TO Carroll, Lukaku
GW 27— van Aanholt TO Robertson
    GW 28— Save
GW 29— Eriksen/Alli TO Sánchez (McAuley TO Cheaper if not affordable.)

Gives me seven for GW 28 (Baines, McAuley, Robertson, Phillips, Carroll, Sigurdsson, Lukaku), I also acquire a Hull defender and Lukaku which I would like regardless of blank gameweeks, and has some flexibility in that I don't use all of my free transfers.

    1. Ridcully
      • 9 Years

Looks decent. I would probably save in GW27 though and use 2FT in GW28 to get 8 players out in GW28.

Perhaps Love & Eriksen -> Robertson & Barkley

      1. Ridcully
        • 9 Years
        9 years, 6 months ago

That would work. My only concern is buying Sánchez back.

Alli TO Sánchez. But if Alli and Eriksen are doing well I wouldn't want to sell both.

Barkley (or equivalent) TO Sánchez, and then maybe downgrade McAuley (for a hit) if if a straight swap is unaffordable. Barkley (or equivalent) would have to score five or more points to make the move worthwhile if a hit is required.

With a better squad it's definitely A, but with mine I think it's close.

With B I can get CHE next week and still retain Cech, Valencia, Sanchez & Ibra (4) and have FT to bring in 7 more DGWers for 34 (TC) and another 3 for GW37 (BB).

        Any major flaws with B?

          Oh and 11 starters in GW26 & GW28 (versus a likely 9 & 7 with A), so that's 6 more players right away.

Looking at the fixtures for gw28 and gw34 (most likely dgw for gw28 postponed games) mancity, arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool have 2 home games against teams in bottom half while manu nd spurs have away games.

Also mancity, arsenal and Liverpool have good fixture in gw33 (Chelsea face manu) so they are good to go when you wildcard* before gw33.

With this scenario, let's hope and pray that spurs and manu get knocked out in the 5th round as it will make everything much easier for us considering the spurs and manu assets we have

I'm looking at getting in a Hull defender this week (will play him GW 26 and GW 28).
Robertson looks the safe pick with regards to minutes, but it seems the centre backs offer more in terms of goal threat. However, there seems to be some rotation threat with both Dawson, Maguire and Ranocchia competing for a spot. Are all under threat?

Also, I keep hearing people mentioning Robertsons attacking threat, but is it really that good?
For the last four gameweeks, his touches in the final third, crosses, and chances created are all worse than say Cedric, Brunt, Lowton, Ward (Stephen), Pieters and A Smith.

I dont think the attcking threat of a Hull defender is anything to consider. Go for the one with most secure start, and cross them fingers.

I got Dawson instead of Maguire last week before his injury and rotation talk.

      Regret it now.

        That's really unfortunate.
Hard to see now who'll be dropped. Silva might also go for a three man defence.

Players who are out of favour, rotting in the reserves or long term injured seem to age more quickly than those we see every week.

Decided I'd better plan ahead for a change and was pleased to find I only have two blanking in gw 26 and already have 7 starters for gw 28. A nice position to be in I think ๐Ÿ™‚

Bearing that in mind, would you do Sanchez to Hazard next week? I would only lose .1m on Sanchez assuming he drops again this week.
