Written off as relegation certainties just over a month ago, Hull City’s survival bid has been given a significant shot in the arm since the arrival of new manager Marco Silva.

Two wins and a draw in five matches under the Portuguese’s stewardship, supplemented by clean sheets against the likes of Mancheser United and Liverpool, have seen many Fantasy Premier League managers assess the KCOM outfit in a new light.

Key to Hull’s appeal is, of course, that they play in both Gameweek 26 and 28 – indeed, Silva’s men are one of just eight sides currently set to feature in the latter round of matches.

As the interest starts to escalate in light of this weekend’s FA Cup results, we cast an eye over Hull’s recent matches, comparing the numbers to their previous statistics for signs of progress, while checking out the Tigers’ chief performers as we look to navigate the tricky upcoming schedule.

    A. Play Siggy vs Chelsea or
    B. Jesus > Kane for a -4 ?

That would mean that next week I would have to do :

Costa -> Ibra or Kane -> Ibra ( meaning that got Kane only for a match vs Stoke )

Makes sense if you'll captain Kane but I wouldn't if I had Costa

have Costa and Luk for possible captains. And also Alli/Eriksen as Spurs cover. So probably hold and play Siggy.

Any suggestions on what to do with a FT & 2.0M in the bank?

    ---------------Foster
    Alonso Walker Coleman Brunt
    --------Alli Barkley Phillips
    -----Lukaku Kane Barnes
    (Jaku T.Carroll Sanchez Yoshida)

Thinking Alli --> Hazard. Thoughts please 🙂

Only pool player i'd be interested in is Mane at the moment. Could do that, so Mane or Hazard?

I would get a liv mid as well to prepare for GW28. if you don't mind a hit and still want Hazard you can do Alexis -> Haz if they go through tonight.

    Which Liverpool mid?

Mane seems the obvious choice, but I worry that choosing him now is chasing points, while one of his teammates could be explosive instead

Are we back to the old days of triple Spurs (Walker / Rose, Alli / Eriksen, Kane) and double Liverpool (Coutinho / Mane / Lallana / Firmino)?

Spurs' fixtures are so good from now. And Liverpool look like they are about to hit form now they are only playing once a week. Got to keep Chelsea defence.

The LIV mid debate will only properly be resolved at the end of the season, when final scores are in and PPG/M is worked out. Until then they will all go hot & cold.

My guess is come seasons end, they'll all be within a few PPG/M of each other.

It really depends on whether you are in the bench Ibra to enable him for GW27 camp or the swap for Kane or Costa camp.

I am in the latter, for Costa. As you have two Spurs already, I imagine you might want to bring in Costa if you are open to kicking out the Swede.

      Sanchez to a Liverpool.

Philips poor form but he does play GW28, which would mean he is a keeper for me, albeit a bregrudging one.

    Lukaku v Costa for captain?

    The case for both:

    Lukaku plus points:

He has red hot home form right now (4 goals of course in his last game).
    It's Blunderland.
And he scored a hat trick against them a few months back.

    Lukaku negative points:

He can go missing after being on a hot streak - this point might be a bit weak given his recent form though.
Moyes might want to get one over his old team (although similiarly, a la Chelsea battering a Mourinho-led Utd 4-0, this could invigorate Everton to perform). Again, a tenuous negative.
There aren't really any other negatives that come to mind.

    Costa plus points:

He just scored a fine goal in the FA Cup and he plays Swansea at home.
We all know that he absolutely loves a goal v Swansea (sorry, I don't have the statistics).
He scored two at the Liberty a few months back.
He is probably more consistent than Lukaku.

    Costa negative points:

Swansea are much more resilient at the back under their new manager.
Costa has a knack for scoring only one goal a game - not as much explosive potential as Lukaku.

Verdict: Both are excellent bets to produce attacking returns for the upcoming gameweek, but Lukaku edges it due to explosive potential, home form, poor quality of the opposition, and Swansea's upturn in defensive resilience.

    What are your thoughts?
