Arsenal dodge a bullet to complete the FA Cup quarter-final line-up and confirm a Gameweek 28 blank for themselves and Leicester City.

Sutton United 0 Arsenal 2

Goals from Lucas Perez and Theo Walcott (courtesy of assists from Granit Xhaka and Alex Iwobi) ended both Sutton’s FA Cup dream and perhaps sealed the fate of Alexis Sanchez as a short-term Fantasy asset.

Arsene Wenger made seven changes from the side humbled in Munich, with Walcott up front, Rob Holding in for the injured Laurent Koscielny and Sanchez on the bench. Hector Bellerin and the much-maligned Mesut Ozil were not involved.

The only sour note on the night was a possible injury to midfielder Mohamed Elneny, who received treatment on the pitch in the first half and was replaced by Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain at half-time.

Whatever the ins and outs of the team, the bottom line is that the Gunners will now miss both Gameweek 26 – due to Southampton’s involvement in the EFL Cup final – and the Gameweek 28 visit of Leicester.

That is highly likely to prompt continued sales in key Arsenal assets, with Sanchez the major casualty.

Fantasy Premier League’s leading points scorer, the Chilean is already the third most transferred-out player with over 76,000 sales – with 6000 of those arriving in the last 24 hours. Olivier Giroud is also placed in the top ten, with Koscielny just outside it.

The Gunners’ immediate schedule doesn’t help their cause either, with Liverpool away and a home clash against Manchester City to come over their next three matches.

Double Gameweeks will boost their stock again further down the line, with a strong run of four fixtures following the Gameweek 30 visit of Pep Guardiola’s side but, for now, many will now be implementing exit plans.

Arsenal XI: Ospina, Gabriel, Mstafi, Holding, Monreal, Elneny (Oxlade-Chamberlain 45), Xhaka, Lucas, Reine-Adelaide (Maitland-Niles 74), Iwobi (Sanchez 74), Walcott.
Subs not used: Martinez, Debuchy, Mertesacker, Gibbs.

Should I take a -8 hit for the below?

    Sanchez > Mane
    Zlatan > Lukaku
    Amat (or Valencia) > Coleman

1 FT to give me 11, which one of these -

    A - Sanchez -> Mane, keeping Pogba for 27

    B - Pogba -> Firm/Coutinho, keeping Sanchez for 27

      B.

I just think Sanchez has a better chance of scoring well vs Liverpool than pogba vs bou. pog aint fantasy gold

that said im keeping ibra over sanchez but that's apples & oranges to your question

        I'm keeping Ibra too 🙂

I think you're right.. The Bournemouth fixture is what's tempting me to keep Pogba but he's been a poor Fantasy option.

Sanchez is still Arsenal's main man and has the best chance of scoring, even away to Pool.

Any suggestions for this lot, I have 2 transfers in mind. Currently have 2 2FT 0itb.

    Proposed transfers:

    Sanchez to Mane
    Amat to Maguire

    Would give me the following

    Valdes (Pickford)

    Alonso, Brunt, Evans, Coleman, Maguire

    Alli, Hazard, Mane, Phillips (Stanislas)

    Lukaku (Ibrahimovic, Anichebe)

Any alternate transfers to the 2 suggested above would be appreciated but don't intend on taking a hit

Stanislas > t.caroll might be an option
Don't worry about formation as you've got plenty for gw28, you won't be 5-4-1 forever

It is an unconventional 5-4-1 formation, 7/10 for unconventionality...

I'm keeping Ibra as I can play Costa and Lukaku up front... Prefer Costa over Haz and 4-4-2 myself but to each his own.

Would def do Sanchez to Mane, maybe Ibra to Costa instead?

Appears that City allows Hart to join a PL rival.

Hart is clearly better than Caballero and Bravo. Liverpool should buy him. Some good GKs in the PL then - Lloris, Cech, Courtois, Hart, De Gea. Man City would be the one lacking.

depends what they can prove. If by saying he ate a pie to make bets come in then you could say he by not eating it he ruins the bets. The oinly issue will be if they can prove he or anyone he knows has benefitted financially from it.

all they need to do is get some other players to say he often eats a pie on the bench then theres f a ll the fa can do

            • 16 Years

let's be honest though, that would be a lie, and the FA would not buy any of it.

The FA have the evidence they require, anything else they can just dismiss as nonsense if they wish.

how do they prove it though? Pretty sure he could play the part of a man who eats a lot iof pies very convincingly

they wouldn't need do. The FA could ask for some footage/photo of him doing it before and if not then ignore it.

I reckon the burden of proof would be on him and the players proving he had done it before, not for the FA to prove that he hadn't.

why would they have footage, burden of proof is on the prosecutor not the defendant, isnt that a key point of law?

                    in the courts, yes.

This is a different animal. Maybe what you say could happen, but I doubt the FA would be that stupid to buy it.

He kinda already says they did

He made such a meal of it , excuse the only pun , to get picked up by the camera

Am sure tiny tiny bets , bookies don't normally allow more than £25 on these specials
So pretty harmless but very much against the rules and ethics .
        Ban and fine incoming

Although the bookie involved will be loving the relatively free publicity

Just had a look at Mane & Firmino comparision in the members area (after transferring in Mane)

    One wins by a landslide...

Still happy with Sadio, he seems to win in the important areas.

Is there any way to see if opponents in a mini league have used their bench boost, all out attack and triple captain

    GW28
    Jaku (Valdes*)
    Ranocchia, Banes,Valencia*, Alonso*, Yoshida*
    Snoddy, Phillips,Mane, Eriksen* Sanchez*
    Lukaku, Costa*, Diomande

I was thinking of bringing in
    Barnes- Diomande
    Siggy - Eriksen
Any suggestions who else to bring in? Maybe in Def.

    Please help me out 😀

    Heaton
    Walker Coleman Alonso Evans
    Eriksen Deli Carroll Mane
    Defoe Lukaku

    Pickford, Stanislas , Ake, Zlatan

    ITB= 2,3 FT = 1

    What to do ?

    1 ) Save FT

    2) get someone in for Stanislas ( he may be back for gw 28 ?) Lallana? Snodgrass ? Ndaye? Antonio ? others ?

    3) Get rid of Ake for Mcauley, or would I get a "too" expensive defence then?

    Pretty tricky!

Who scores more points in the next 3?

    A) Kane (STK, EVE, SOU)

    B) Costa (SWA, whu, stk)

I have Alli & Eriksen does that mean I should go with Costa as I have no Cheslea attacker?

    Appreciate your thoughts!

    1. ILOVEBAPS
      • 14 Years

B then. I may take out Alli and Erik before 28 though so may get Kane in 29.

      1. Karan_G14
        • 10 Years

My head says Costa because I have no Chelsea attacker but gut says Kane because hes explosive and has slightly better fixtures. If I had only one out of Alli or Erik I would have gone Kane I think but because i have both im confused now.

Haha... Points are king so go with who will get more Iyo
Alli n Erik could easily become Siggy or Firmino etc...
