Lincoln City’s shock FA Cup win over Burnley has handed Fantasy managers an extra match to plan for ahead of Gameweek 28, with the Clarets’ visit to Liverpool now guaranteed.

One of only eight sides set to offer us a fixture in each of the next three Gameweeks, Jurgen Klopp’s men also face a favourable trip to Leicester City next Monday evening.

With the Alexis Sanchez exodus in full flow after Arsenal clinched a spot in the FA Cup quarter-finals on Monday night, thus depriving the Gunners of matches in Gameweek 26 and 28, we put the Merseysiders midfield options under the microscope.

First up, we’ll look at how Klopp’s attack is performing when compared with both the rest of the top-flight and their own season averages.

We then monitor the displays of their midfielders over each players’ respective last six matches, looking for signs of form at a time when many are turning to Sadio Mane on the back of his two-goal haul against Spurs last time out.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

    Harry Maguire has scored 1 goal in 60 appearances for Hull City, and that was in the League cup v Bristol City.

    Let this fact digest a little while I open another can... hic!

        Not on baps he doesn't, Since BOU, when it all changed, Robertson has beaten Harry by 4 weeks to 1.

          Hmm... Interesting... I've heard anyone saying Maguire is better, but my gut says "Who is Maguire?".... Not a goalscorer for sure, why are everyone expecting him to suddenly score goals? Robertson looked great vs Arsenal and has assist potential...

      Bought Roberston. No real threat on his position. Cheaper. Looked good. Great bench foddder for upcoming weeks and leaving him with my WC team.

    I've done a huge look into my moves. If anyone cares, i'm leaning A and gamble minus Lukaku (it helps that he has Spurs next week). Thoughts please.

    A (Sanchez + De Roon -> Mane + Firmino)
    GW 26 - Mane + Firmino + Pieters + Barnes + 4
    GW 27 - Ibra C
    GW 28 - 9 players

    B (Sanchez + Barnes + Pieters -> Firmino + Kaku + Fernandez)
    GW 26 - Lukaku + Firmino + Fernandez + De Roon
    GW 27 - Ibra C
    GW 28 - 9 players

    C (Sanchez + Ibra -> Kaku + Mane/Bobby)
    GW26 - Lukaku + Mane/Bobby + Barnes + De Roon + 4
    GW 27 - No Ibra C. Mkhi C
    GW 28 - 9 players

    D [(Sanchez + Barnes -> Kaku + 8.1M mid(probably Barkley/Markovic)]
    GW 26 - Lukaku + Barkley/Markovic + Pieters + De Roon + 4
    GW 27 - Ibra C
    GW28 - 8 players

    Hey guys, what are your suggestions for my team?

    Jaku (Cech)
    Fuenes Mori-Williams-Brunt-Gibson-Pieters
    Phillips-Fletcher-De Bruyne-Sanchez-Alli
    Ibra-Lukaku-Anichebe

    I am definitely thinking of shipping De Bruyne away, and probably Sanchez as well, and then upgrade Anichebe. What do you think?

    Maybe Sanchez-De Bruyne-Anichebe to Pedro-Coutinho (or Firmino)-Costa.

    Thanks!

    I'm not sure if anyone agrees but I'd rather sell Alexis to get Mane than Alli or Eriksen atm. Is Sanchez really that essential anymore? He 's leaving soon, he doesn't really care what happens right:D I know I just can't get him before GW 30 or 31

      I also read his mind was allready somewhere else a few days before the Hull game.
      If he scores 2 goals when he doesn't give a damn what would it be if he was caring?
      Definitely an essential asset I will get back in GW29.

        Nothing to tinker with though.

        If Aguero keeps on scoring (which he normally does) and City are winning games (which there is a good chance of happening), and City have things to play for, and Pep doesn't play him and they start to lose, then all hell will break out.

        I know, this is Pep we are talking about, but surely he doesn't have any other option, especially if situation above materialises?

          As an arsenal fan I hope they do. But #piegate can't help us every week.

          How about the other doubles? What's the most likely week other than 37 for Arsenal to fit their extra games into? You'd hope the Premier League would have some kind of contingency in place and swiftly announce the rescheduling.

            They won't extend the season so dunno. It's all about TV rights isn't it? Euro FC don't want any damage to the the rights-holders so PL games "should" be allocated to 26, 34 & 37. We'll see about that 😉

    Last season I remember filling out my wildcard with lots of filler for the BB mania, removing Spurs and Leicester players for example. It feels like this season it's going to be all about big teams, there are likely to be doubles for top 4 chasing teams against mid table fodder. Maybe a high team value will be useful this season!

    A different crowd, so I'll poll the group again. I plan on transferring out Sanchez for either Hazard or Mane. I'll likely reverse the transfer (and bring Sanchez back in) in GW31. So, over the next five, who is the best asset, keeping in mind that I already have Firmino and no Chelsea attackers:

    A) Mane (lei, ARS, bur, mci, EVE)
    B) Hazard (SWA, whu, blank, stk, CRY)

    Cheers.

    Any of these stand out? In a right mess here....

    A) Amat & Ibra -> Baines & Lukaku (-4)
    B) Sterling & Ibra -> Mane & Lukaku (-4)
    C) Sterling, Sanchez & Benteke -> Barkley, Mane & Lukaku (-8)
    D) Cech, Sanchez & Benteke -> Jaku, Mane & Lukaku (-8)
    E) Wildcard

    Pickford*
    Coleman, Brunt, Nyom
    Eriksen, Alli, Capoue
    Benteke, Carroll*

    Cech, Valencia, Amat, Sanchez, Sterling, Ibra
    Bank 0.1m, 1FT

      I would strongly consider E even though most here wouldn't recommend it. Logic being that looks like DGW37 will be the big one, so people should save WC for GW36. I think one can build up to that given its so far away.

          For GW28, you have 201 so have to gear all transfer to GW28.

      They will play 2 games later on to compensate but thats likely to be after GW30.

  22. Eze Really?
    • 12 Years
    9 years, 4 months ago

    I don't think the GW26 and Gw 28 are complicated.

    A If you take a hit, especially for a cheap defender, make sure it is for 2 GW benefit.
    B That means you fill a GW26 space to make up a full side and he DOES play GW 28. McGuire etc.
    C Don't take on a player you will have no need for later.
    D Think about the DGW's to come. You will have 6ft's until GW34. If you have City, Man U, Arsenal, Soton already, any ones you can hold onto will benefit later.
    E All the above is ignoring any wild cards. Oh and yes, there will be rotation issues and DGW's so don't chase the ace.

    Sorry, but I am a bit bored but I hope it helps the newies.

      34 throws a bit of a spanner in the works with these, though. We'll want to maximise the DGW and there's a pretty good chance that very few on this list will double in that week.

          It'll be those who lose the FA QFs plus their opponents. So a long list of possibilities but due to the draw various probabilities. Man Utd/Chelsea gives one loser for sure, Hudd/ManCity/Midd throws up at least one more. Improbables are Arsenal and Spurs plus opponents. We'll know more GW28, but not much until then.

      I don't recall it either. With a two-week break the changes normally slow to a crawl in the middle weekend but we normally get one or two changes (mostly little-owned players dropping). I don't think there's anything untoward, however.
