A minor disclaimer: this episode of the ScoutCast we recorded prior to the earth-shattering revelation that Manchester City could enjoy two fixtures in Gameweek 27. This therefore renders the full 70 minutes as totally irrelevant, with the content and advice offered within both useless and ill-informed. However, as this hasn’t stopped folk listening in the past, we’re putting it out there anyway.

Before the intervention of the fixture computer, I was joined by Jonty, Andy and Az as, oblivious to what was to come, we stepped blindly into the breach to wrestle another round of community questions.

That ensured that the impending blanks dominated the discussion, gifting Jonty the opportunity to flaunt his enviable Gameweek 28 line-up, while discussing the merits of Chelsea, Liverpool and West Ham. Somewhat inevitably, pastry based goods also make an appearance.

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday night. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

If you’re a traditional type, you can acquire the mp3 audio version via this link or the first player below, or take in the full visual experience, pastry and all, via the second player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Who would you rather have for GW 27, Kane or Costa?

      Akways Kane in a one off game.

          I'm not saying Kane will definitely outscore him, just that Kane is capable of a haul, Costa not so much, though he is consistent with decent returns.

    What do you think about this plan? 🙂

    GW26: Rose -> Robertson (-4) to have 11 players this GW.

    GW27: Stanislas and Lukaku -> Siggy and Aguero (-4)

    GW28: Aguero -> Lukaku (9 players playing)

    GW29: Mane/Haz -> Sanchez

    My team:
    (0 FT, 3.7 itb)
    Jaku (Heaton)
    Coleman/Baines/Brunt/Chambers* (Rose*)
    Haz/Mane/Alli/Phillips (Stanislas)
    Kane/Lukaku (Diomande)

        Like it! Brunt's fixture is out of control from GW29!
        I'm afraid of waiting for Sanchez so maybe taking a hit before GW29 and do Brunt and Haz/Mane -> Max 5.4 def and Sanchez?

    What is most important:
    A) Having Mane over next two GWs
    B) Having Ibra (BOU), and Firmino/Coutinho instead of Mane

    Thoughts ?
    Before GW27(if City have DGW):

    A. Costa Dele to Kun Siggy
    B. Dele DeRoon to Siggy Sterling
    C. Dele Costa to Kun Sterling

    Also have Ibra and Kaku
    Cheers !

        This is kinda interesting, I've been also thinking about Kaku to Kun instead of Costa but maybe too much transfer and cash wasting with bringing him back before GW28 again

          I am doing Aguero -> Lukaku before GW27 and then back again in GW28 (see my plan above). What do you think about my plan?

            • 9 Years
            9 years, 5 days ago

            It depends how much value you have in Kaku, wouldn't like to lose much on transfering in and out week by week but I consider doing it myself Kaku Dele to Kun Siggy than Kun to Kaku, hard choice, we should monitor for now

            1. GE
              • 9 Years
              9 years, 5 days ago

              I bought him at 9.8 and is now 9.9 so will only lose 0.1. Like your moves - could be a good plan to do Alli -> Siggy as in your plan, for me more important to get rid of Stanislas.

    Decent moves?

    GW26: Cech, Sanchez & Ibra -> Jaku, Mane & Lukaku (-8)
    GW27: Alli & Benteke -> Siggy & Aguero (-4)
    GW28: Sterling -> Firmino

    Means 11 & 9 starters in GW26 & GW28 respectively & WC preserved

    Pickford
    Coleman, Brunt, Nyom
    Eriksen, Alli, Capoue
    Benteke, Carroll

    Cech, Valencia, Amat, Sanchez, Sterling, Ibra
    Bank 0.1m, 1FT

      Obviously a lot of hits which isn't ideal but the moves look solid, bringing in decent players in all cases. I'd say yes.

      You have been browbeaten mate.

      Use the wildcard. That's what it's for. 🙂

      The moves look OK if you are set on saving it but the opportunity to lose Pickford, Amat and Capoue for Grant, Maguire/Robertson and Carroll for example would mean you'd already be getting 24 points of value even before you started making strategic tweaks.

        Thing is, would you WC this week or next? Kind of makes more sense this week, but that would mean my bench would probably need to be all MCY & STO, which isn't ideal with TOT/CHE having a decent fixture and the likes of SWA having a tough one this week. What would your WC squad look like?

        1. Ruth_NZ
          • 11 Years
          9 years, 5 days ago

          Roughly:

          Jakupovic Grant
          Coleman Maguire Chambers/Prödl Fernández/Mawson Brunt
          Snodgrass/Antonio Mané/Firmino King Markovic/Sigurdsson Sané/Sterling
          Aguero Costa Lukaku

          Would be an inefficient front-8 but only temporarily. That would be a wildcard for this week and the transfers over the next weeks would fall into place pretty well from that starting point.

    Gooooooood morning all!

    Been having a think about whether to do Lukaku to Aguero in 27 and then Aguero to Lukaku in 28 or just to ship Ibra instead.

    The Lukaku move costs 4 extra points so even if Ibra scores a hat trick it's an 11 point loss if we assume Lukaku only gets 2 points. If he gets any attacking points that loss is lessened even more.

    For anyone in this situation which way are you thinking?

      Think you have answered your own question Andy.

      I know you are very attached to Ibra (as am I) but if you think logically keeping Rom and ditching Zlatan seems to be better for your team.

      Morning Andy,

      I'd just ship Ibra (doing it myself) - the reason to keep him was for the armband next week, but now Aguero has a DGW, he's the captain next week. Looking to bring Ibra/Kane back in for Lukaku around GW30 myself

        I'll be doing the Aguero - Lukaku hokey cokey or Aguero in for Lukaku in 27 then Lukaku in for Ibra in 28, either way, Ibra stays in my team for Bou (H).

          Just looking at the fixtures, the Lukaku - Aguero hokey cokey looks favourite for me. That way Ibra will stay for 29 MID (A) & 30 WBA (H) as opposed to Aguero's 29 LIV (A) & 30 ARS (H).

              OK, The Lukaku - Aguero hokey cokey will use 2 transfers. The Lukaku to Aguero to Ibra will also cost me 2 transfers, albeit over 3 weeks...so it boils down to which GW27 fixture do I prefer Ibra v Bou (H) or Lukaku to Spurs (A).

    5. Ruth_NZ
      • 11 Years
      9 years, 5 days ago

      Objectively there are more points likely from Lukaku to Aguero to Lukaku. That's the ideal and is what I am working on. But even if I do that it costs me one hit at worst, maybe none (depending on whether I want to field 9 or 10 in GW28).

      If it meant 2 hits it would become more debatable. There is also some TV loss to consider (I bought Lukaku at 9.4m so might lose 0.2m/0.3m). On the other hand it would mean Zlatan being in place already in GW29 and that would be an advantage, especially with (probably) 2 DGWs to come.

      I don't think it's clear cut to be honest. But I still like the idea of Zlatan v Bournemouth even if I don't captain him and that swings the balance for me.

      G'morning all

      Aguero has 1 (only one) week with good fixtures. No pens, gametime risk, as ManC still in fa cup and cl.
      Lukaku>>Aguero and Aguero>>Lukaku with Aguero(c)-Ibra(vc) in gw 27 makes perfect sense. Lukaku has Spurs away and Ibra fixtures post gw28 are great.
      I see Aguero as one week cap punt. Can consider him from gw31 again, if in form and not being suspended.

    Probability that Lukaku raises to 10.0 before GW27?

    Can't afford Lukaku -> Aguero in GW27 and Aguero -> Lukaku in GW28 if so 🙁

    For the last 3 nights before I have gone to bed I have intended to transfer out Sanchez and forgot. Somehow he hasn't dropped in price. I think it's a sign!

      I've been waiting all week as his next drop is immaterial to me. But the GW deadline will mean I need to make the transfer. I'm probably not alone.

    Need to make a transfer to field an XI.

    1.Jones-----Maguire/Holebas
    2. Sanchez----Mane/Hazard
    3. Zlatan------Kane/Costa

    Current team:

    Jakupovic, Hennessey
    Brunt, Alonso, Coleman, Jones (!), Holgate (!)
    Alli, Sanchez (!), Snodgrass, Phillips, Sigurdsson
    Lukaku, DeFoe, Ibrahimovic (!)

      Please don't bring in Holebas.

      I'd be looking at Sanchez to Mane personally.

      Otherwise Jones to Maguire (Robertson would be my preference).

    Morning guys.

    Foster
    Brunt, Baines, Alonso
    Phillips, Antonio, Sigurdsson, Mane, Clayton
    Lukaku, Kane

    subs: Heaton --- Ibrahimovic*, Jones*, Holgate* --- 1 FT, 3.7 ITB

    Jones -> Robertson or any better ideas what to do with this lot?

      You can get 11 out so maybe wait until next week when you know what is happening with Man City ?

        Jones -> Robertson would give me additional GW28 player which I'll need more regardless what will happen to City. Could ofc save a FT.

          GW27 Jones > Stones (if DGW), GW28 Stones > Robertson ... gives you 3 games over 2 weeks?

            I think I don't fancy City defence for that double.

            GW26: Jones -> Robertson
            GW27: Kane -> Aguero (possibly Phillips -> Sterling for a hit?)
            GW28: Sterling -> player who plays on 28

            This would give me 9 players on GW28 assuming Holgate does not play

          34 and 37 midweeks are currently free of CL/PL/Intl matches - there should be a bit of rescheduling here.

              Swansea, Hull, Everton, West Brom, West Ham, Bournemouth, Liverpool and Burnley.

                So as it stands likely none of these teams will get a DGW this season.

                Right GW29 is overhaul time, ditching WBA, Everton and Swansea players.

                Cheers Smurf.

                These mainly - although Bournemouth/Burnley might still get one if their GW34 opponents are in the Cup Semis, and these matches aren't rescheduled for the same week.

      When you have already a full squad for gw28, when nothing bad happens and no hits neeeded, I think its good strategy.
      Its all about points after all.
      Some are getting them by avoiding hits, some are maximising the chances to catch possible hauls bearing the costs. No additional points for saving the transfer.
      Simple as that.
