A trio of Josh Kings saved the Gameweek for the ScoutCast regulars, steering Jonty, Andy and myself to respectability, despite a scattering of ill-fated transfer hits. Meanwhile, AZ drops in with his own unique solution to the curtailed Gameweek 28, as he deals a controversial early Wildcard to help prepare for the choppy waters.

The Wildcard is a key focus of this week’s episode, as we extend our recent Hot Topic to the ScoutCast airwaves, arguing the optimum time to activate the most precious of chips.

Elsewhere, we spare a moment to weigh up the “essential” status of the aforementioned Cherries midfielder, consider the recent unrest surrounding Sanchez and Lukaku and discuss the fall-out from Kane’s twanged ankle.

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday night. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

If you’re a traditional type, you can acquire the mp3 audio version via this link or the first player below, or take in the full visual experience via the second player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

England have and always had excellent international players
Its bad management and lack of real support from the fans and the media that has let them down time and time again

I am very optimistic about the Republic of Ireland's chances if you seen our team sheet lately you would go out and throw yourself under a bus if you think the England players are bad

At least we have a few more PL based players knocking about. Could actually get a starting XI of PL players out for Ireland now.

But they're not comparable. RoI and England have vastly different resource levels, populations and expectations. It is not unreasonable to expect England to compete with France, Germany and Spain. Of course those teams have had poor tournaments in recent years, the difference is, they've also had fantastic tournaments in recent years.

How footballers can blame the media is beyond me. Cristiano Ronaldo and Luis Suárez were mauled by the press after the 'wink' and the bite, yet somehow they didn't collapse into quivering wrecks. I know they're two special players, but you can't tell me every English player for the last 20 years reads The Sun everyday and starts crying.

I said after Iceland I was done...but what else is there to do in an international break :'(

Tbh, while the English infrastructure is far superior to that of Ireland, I think those of Germany, Spain and France are stronger than England's. Not entirely in a different league, but I think on the whole when you compare squads it's a fairly noticeable difference (though I know Spain have had a dodgy time of it as they leave the Xavi/Iniesta age)

Thoughts on first off my bench
    Jakupovic-(Foster)
    Coleman-Alonso-Brunt-(Kingsley-Holgate)
    Mané-Coutinho-Sigurdsson-Alli-King
    Lukaku-Costa-Llorente

    Currently on Llorente

Cech and Phil Jones or Kosc and Jakupovic

    Other keeper is Pickford

Have a pretty heavy defence already with Toby, Alonso Mawson and Yoshida

Agreed. He is a great goalkeeper and makes good performances on a consistent basis. Sunderland will go for the win though, therefore there will be plenty of goal scoring chances from both teams. Low expectations of a clean sheet...

3M. 1FT. Planning to save. Possibly Rose out. Any opinions?

    Jak - Grant

    Mane - Firmino - Antonio - Snodgrass - Siggy
    Llorente - Kun - Defoe

Maybe but he could be back after the break so is it worth it.
Is double Liverpool and hammers midfield ideal even if fixtures look good. Lose Antonio for Alli? No point losing Snod just end up with bench issues.

LOL. Actually read that article earlier today. I sometimes think Wenger just talks out his arse to the press, cause he knows they'll come up with a sensational headline and it amuses him. I don't think there's anything to their story

I have Kane and Snoddy in my squad and only want to make one transfer. Is Snoddy to Son ok and deal with Kane after the international break? I have Lukaku and Llorente up top with Mane, Coutinho, Siggy and Larsson to join Son just for this weekend. I have my wildcard to use for gameweek 30.

If you have a good feeling on Sanchez, it has to Cout that makes way on current form

Cout to Alli for sure. Then i would be thinking on Brunt/FM to Spurs defender (if that leaves enough for Sane to Sanchez 31)

A to Walker for me, although not a certain CS this week. I plan to get him in 31.

Defoe or Costa? (My main rival who I trail owns neither)

I'd take a punt on Defoe if chasing. Stoke aren't bad at home (conceded two in the last four).

Costa has been more reliable. If you rival doesn't have him, he is a good differential for you.

    What would you do?

    A) Sane (LIV) > Sanchez (wba)
    B) Lanzini (LEI) > Son (SOU) (LEI will be tired after CL game? Or buoyant?)
    C) Save

    Cheers

I'd probably save although B would definitely appeal to me.

Just watch out for Son's international schedule. He may not start on return

I'd bench eriksen. I know it sounds strange, but trust me. Spurs average only 1 goal per game without kane as opposed to 2.09 with him on the team.

He's been close last few nights. Friday sales may push him over, since he has Bouremouth

Actually I don't have Alli yet I am getting ahead of myself. So that makes your team even better than mine wow 🙂 🙂 🙂

had to take a few extra hits this week because of the Kane mishap (bought him hours before his injury - rookie mistake) so yes... LOADS OF POINTS please! need to cover losses 😀
Hazard is still a great pick tho can be explosive. Captain lukaku or sanchez undecided
