After the first four fixtures of Gameweek 31 treated us to just seven goals last night, hopes are a little higher for the remaining six matches.

Many Fantasy managers will be keeping a keen eye on the Emirates as Alexis Sanchez looks to punish West Ham once again.

The Chilean is the third most-captained player this time around, having served up 23 points against the Hammers back in Gameweek 14.

Dele Alli – the most popular midfielder in FPL – and Spurs team-mate Christian Eriksen also have the opportunity to deliver a big profit as they travel to a Swansea City outfit that boasts the worst home defensive record in the top-flight.

Crystal Palace and Middlesbrough are also in action this evening, affording us an early scouting opportunity as both gear up for a double Gameweek 34.

Christian Benteke and Wilfried Zaha roll up to St Mary’s looking to build on their goal and assist apiece away to Chelsea, with Sam Allardyce’s men seeking a fifth straight victory.

‘Boro face a tough task away to Hull, though. The Tigers are a tough nut to crack at home under Marco Silva, with six wins and a draw in seven in front of their own supporters across all competitions. Notably, the Teessiders appear to have opted for a front two for tonight’s clash.

Chelsea and Man City square up at the Bridge in one of two 8pm encounters.

Diego Costa is the second most-captained player for the Gameweek – over 10% are backing the Spain international despite a run of two goals in seven. Meanwhile, for the visitors, Sergio Aguero has persuaded 8% to take an armband punt on the back of three strikes in four.

Liverpool seek to gain revenge on their 4-3 capitulation at the Vitality Stadium earlier in the season as Bournemouth make their way to Anfield. With Sadio Mane sidelined, Philippe Coutinho – the top transfer target for Gameweek 31 – and Roberto Firmino carry the main threat to a defence that’s been breached 31 times already on their travels.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

My thinking at the mo is that the mids are about to explode again like they did earlier in the season so might go for a cheaper back-line and get one more premium mid.. Not sure yet

Real tough one for this week, a few votes would be appreciated:
A: Vardy to Tekkers for a FT, bench Siggy
B: Siggy to Zaha for a FT, bench Vardy
C: Amat to Boro defender, bench Pieters
D: Save FT, play one of Vardy/Siggy & Pieters
    Cheers!!!

Who's seriously thinking of an earlier than anticipated wildcard?. This is my team below and yeah it ain't bad but, one of my rivals having been ahead of him for weeks now by between 5 and 10 points captained Vardy me that Arsenal fella. He's ahead by less than 10 now yes but still has TC left and his second wildcard plus BB. This week he has two free transfers - I'm thinking could I just do a week by week masterly plan (hopefully) all the way till 37 utilising a WC?.

    Team:
    Jakupovic Grant
    Valencia Walker Alonso Brunt Smith
    Erik Sanchez Coutinho King Mirallas
    Vardy Carroll Lukaku

Have 0.4 itb and 1 free transfer

The perceived wisdom of a late WC (34/35) is madness imo. I played it last week, got 20 more points than I would have and am now pretty set for the reason of the season...

Yeah it's not like we don't know who all the DGW teams are, and this week in particular is a tricky one with a lot of potential points all over the shop.. Could be as good a time as any to use it

the DGW + BB + wildcard plan had many approaching 200 points last season though. don't think the fixtures will be as tasty this season but i think if you've held on this long...

You cannot know you are 'set' for the rest of the season. This is the advantage of the WC.

I played mine 2 weeks back and so far it's working out OK. All that planning could easily be horribly outdone with a series of injuries, rotations etc. Something people with a WC can be more responsive to at short notice

        1. vectorman
          • 9 Years
          8 years, 8 months ago

This is true with the injuries but you'd have to be blooming unlucky for it to cost you to much in the way of points. And I think you could quite easily WC in a player who then gets rested later on in 35 and 36 too. Happened with Pool last season

Right guys, want to a heads up on this plan.

    This week: Evans --> Gibson
    Next week: Save a transfer
Just before GW34 : Lukaku, Lanzini and Llorente --> Zlatan, Zaha and Negredo

Only downside to this plan is I won't own Kun vs Hull or Zlatan vs Sunderland this weekend.

But it means I field 5 DGW (already own DDG)

Had poor week and rage activated my wildcard last night. What do you think please?

    De Gea
    Barragan McAuely B Davies
    Sanchez Eriksen Ali Zaha
    Aguero Origi Lukaku

    Pickford
    De Roon
    Holgate
    Pieters

I’ve had McAuely from the start so I need to be 100% sure to get rid of him in case I regret and want him back. Unlikely?

Should I be going for Valdes and looking for a Man u defender instead of big Gareth? Any other suggestions? Ive chosen De Gea as thought yes likely to be rotated. Thanks

        Literally not working mate.

I'm thinking of just wildcarding. I'll have a team mostly full of 37 DGWers anyway, or at least an easy way to get there:

        Pickford Hennessey
Alonso Davies Valencia Yoshi Chambers/Bernardo(4.3 mid - gna be benched til DGW anyway so it can be any of them!)
        Alli Eriksen Sane Sanchez MDR
        Kaku Kun Origi

Means I can do Kun + Kaku -> Ibra + Kane eventually, and I can always get rid of Origi for someone else to afford Kane+Kun in a 3-5-2 if it comes to it!

Seems drastic but I'm doing so poorly in the short term atm I might as well just go for it - I'm looking OK for both DGWs and can make changes nearer the time to tailor things.

        1. Hurricane Gilbert
          • 9 Years
          8 years, 8 months ago

Yeah I can see the temptation. Although there are some risks: Davies - how long will Rose be out?
Sané: Might be rested this GW
Origi: Pool sucks against lesser teams and Sturridge could steal some game time

I think I'll be saving my transfer and my WC for DGW34.

I've done it. I'm too unhappy.

            Pickford Hennessey
Alonso Valencia Bavies Yoshi Chambers (4.3 Boro is what I can afford - it's between him and Bernardo, but both will be benched til 34 anyway)
            Alli Eriksen Sanchez Sane MDRoon
            Kaku Kun Origi
            0.0 / 105.4 overall TV

Origi and Sane are the two I'm not sure about, but I can't see too many alternatives for the 4th mid / 3rd striker spot (which is genuinely trash for me anyway). Have a total of 13.8 to play with which ain't great. Bavies will be fine for the time being I'm sure!

    2. Haggis
      • 10 Years

Both good options. But I wonder if Carroll is your main problem: Probably injured, playing for a poor team without DGWs. Him to Anichebe/Gestede and upgrade Fletcher to Alli -4?

  18. Dr Dream

Eriksen has nine double digit hauls this season...that's more than Sanchez, Hazard and co (I think it may be the highest in the game). They include quite predictable fixtures (Hull, Swansea twice, Stoke twice, WBA)...I think we might have to revise our very lowly (c) % for him sometimes.

what I don't understand with the penalty law is that even though the ref made a mistake in that newcastle game, surely what he did
should be the outcome if your team commits a foul while the pen is taken, no matter if you score or not?its null and void

your team have committed an infraction-just as the opposition did for you to win the penalty- therefore its a free kick in the opposition box

why should they get to re take it?

for example, you dont get to retake throw in's

Held the ball up great, always dangerous, a good option. Though don't really fancy Liverpool to get many goals in their next two games.

Thanks for replies. Hes a placeholder for gabbiadini. Took a punt on him for Llorente.

Just watched MOTD. Original looked dangerous in central areas. Only concern is possible Sturbridge return I guess.

Are Boro defenders still confident for their DGW prospects? That loss to Hull was pretty painful. Doesn't get much worse than conceding 4 to Hull :/

Not an owner, but Bournemouth seem pretty free scoring at the moment I wouldn't be surprised if Defoe got a penalty in the other fixture!

Still iI think there defence is worth investing imo for the dbgwk plus its.likely Chambers will return soon that will shore up the defence

I have double Mid defence. Not that confident but its a DGW so there's always a chance of some points

Certainly not going to rush one in now; will wait till GW34 and re-assess.

Barragan looks a good bet at 4.4 or whatever. Gibson for 90 mins both games and attacking potential

I think Sterling will start this weekend, possibly ahead of Sane. You know what Pep's like with rotation.
It's the only thing stopping me from getting Sane now

    Pickford (Jaku)
    Valencia Davies Fernandez (Robertson Fabio)
Sanchez Alli Coutinho Sig (de Roon)
    Costa Lukaku Vardy

2.7 itb 1 FT. No WC.

Costa to Kun seems the obvious move; I am also tempted to double up on Spurs mids. I could do Sig to Son or Coutinho to Eriksen but I am not convinced if it's worth a hit. Any thoughts appreciated.

Yeah I also have Costa and he has lost his sharpness completely. The only premium striker on form is Kun. And City score morr goals than United. Would keep Siggy still, west ham are trash
