An unprecedented summer podcast arrives following the Fantasy Premier League launch, as Jonty, Andy and Luke join me in the afterglow of a joyous day.

Technically “on the beach” and fighting back to full fitness, we nonetheless brave the airwaves to chime in on the price list, reclassified players and some early formation dancing.

We glory in the potential bargains, lament the overpriced and make bold claims on our lineups that will doubtless be reversed come August 11. If Andy has Chris Brunt in his Gameweek 1 squad, I’ll eat my Free Hit chip.

The FPL Draft game gets a rinsing, and we end the show with our proud declaration of our team ID’s. A conclusion that leaves me feeling rather inadequate even before a ball has been kicked.

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Wednesday night. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

If you’re a traditional type, you can acquire the mp3 audio version via this link on the first player below, or take in the full visual experience via the second player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Has anyone got any insight into who's more likely to play out of Jesus and Aguero?

    1. Davido989
      • 15 Years
      9 years, 1 month ago

Going off of last season, Jesus was Pep's preferred choice. But he did play them both at times too. One game that sticks out to me was when City battered West Ham away with Jesus playing, and Aguero benched.

Surely Aguero wouldn't stay unless he was assured of starting? He's too good and he's not getting younger

    Thoughts on this please:

    Elliot Foster
    Milner Ake Lindelöf Cedric Ward
    Eriksen Coutinho Ritchie Pogba RLC
    Aguero Lacazette Mounie

    1. Davido989

      I'd make Milner a 4.5.
      Then I would make Ward a 4.0.
      Then I would make Ritchie a 5.5.
      Then I would upgrade Pogba.
Then I would make Aguero into Kane.
Then I would make Mounie into someone I've heard of.

Fair enough, but Sigurdsson is 27 and Pickford is very young, plus he is English and clubs like that. Also Pickford has a much much higher ceiling than Sigurdsson

He's going to cost a little more than seeing as it got rejected.

I think it was the Liv Echo + Mirror who said a few was agreed but then Leicester stomped with a bigger bid and drove the price up.

      1. H-SF

Yes Swansea probably holding out now for something around 50m

        1. Davido989
          • 15 Years
          9 years, 1 month ago

Which is too much for a player even of his quality. Some of the prices are making me believe that Keita may just be a fair deal even at £70m. (If it came off).

    4. sindriseagal
      • 11 Years

I disagree. How much money would Swansea have lost if he hadn't been there last year. Swansea would have never stayed out of the bottom three with out him and I think if they sell him they might really struggle.

I think he is worth it for what he offers. Very consistent player dangerous on set pieces assists scoring.
The market price is inflated but you know what you are getting with him. He is used to the league no adjustment period needed etc etc

Plus he was in the team that England in the Euros....that must add on a few noughts at least 😀

I've been playing FF for years.

The first few years I went with premium defenders and had outrageous success

Best finish was top 400 in the world.

    2006/07 1,964 12,154
    2007/08 2,246 2,853
    2008/09 2,159 389
    2009/10 2,177 98,579
    2010/11 2,045 39,324
    2011/12 2,084 53,673
    2012/13 1,916 486,503
    2013/14 2,389 13,123
    2014/15 1,965 317,999
    2015/16 1,974 789,479
    2016/17 2,126 178,946

I joined this site and went with template teams with three Defenders and my success went rapidly downhill. I could never seem to get on players before the Bandwagon.

This season I am going back to my roots. Points per cost of player Defenders are more value.

Its a different approach and I am going to try it out on the basis that I will miss the explosive returns from midfield of Sanchez and De Bruyne and Hazard etc but I'll plumb for midfielders who will play and are playmakers for their teams.

As such- I will be opening with

    /Lóssl/ (Ryan)

    Lindelóf Clyne Azpil Alonso Cahill

    Siggy Loftus-Cheek

    Kane Lukaku(c) Gayle

    Bench; Philips Knockaert Mcarthur

I will rotate Philips and Knockaert in and out with Loftus-Cheek based on fixtures

Best of luck to all in the new season
