Our series of summer members’ articles continues this afternoon as we assess what’s on offer at the managerial merry-go-round that is Watford.

To begin with, we analyse the Hornets’ performances on a team level, checking out last season’s data in order to spot trends and areas of improvement. Following that, we take a look at the players to pinpoint their key individuals.

For this article, we also focus on new manager Marco Silva’s impact on his former club Hull City after an impressive stint at the KCOM Stadidum during the second half of 2016/17.

Watford parted company with Quique Sanchez Flores at the end of 2015/16, scoring 40 times on their way to finishing in thirteenth spot on 45 points.

Yet the now-departed Walter Mazzarri failed to improve upon those performances in his only season at the helm. The Vicarage Road outfit scored the same number of goals but picked up just 40 points, ending the campaign in seventeenth position.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Anyone going with Willian then planning to use their first FT to jump on the sub 7.0mil bandwagon for GW2?

yeah, I have no confidence in Willian, but he seems the best bet for the first GW

    It's done. RMT.

    Foster, Myhill
    Kompany, Cedric, Cahill, Valencia, (Rangel)
De Bruyne, Salah, Eriksen, Iwobi, (Milvojevic)
    Jesus, Firminho, (Abraham)

    - Iwobi - Sanchez not likely to start the season and at 5.5m Iwobi is a nice way into an uncertain Arsenal attacking line.
    - Expect City / Liverpool to bang in the goals out the blocks so that's why I've doubled up.
    - No Man U attack - remember all those boring draws last season? Will wait and see on Rom.
    - No Kane - Will wait and see how Spurs do in new stadium.

1 simple question as I'm set on the rest.

    Kompany or Kolasinac
    and why please

    DDG
    Kompany Cedric Dawson
    KDB Salah Willian JWP
    Kane Lukaku Mounie

Kompany. Nailed on, 8 games in the end of last season 6 clean sheets, 3 goals. Better keeper this year, and decent opening fixtures.

Kolasinac may be good, but he did not start today so he may not be nailed on in the beginning of the season. Also new team, new league and so on.

      Agree with above.

Had Kolasinac in but I think Kompany is the safe bet - until we know Kolasinac's gametime and definite starting status (which will likely be timed with when Kompany will unfortunately no doubt get injured).

Reverse out of position forward on a Pulis team - as selections go you'd struggle to find worse.

Centre backs are where it's at goal wise in Pulis teams.

Re-read the Bournemouth Numbers Game article and it suggests a few things. One is that they'll probably continue to concede quite a few, another is that Cook may be a better defender to get than Daniels if they do tighten up both for bonus and goals.

King could still be an option 'n all.

Heya lads, after a bit of a reshuffle i've come up with this 442, what are your opinions?

    Hart
    Francis - Kolasinac - Alderweireld - Kompany
Carroll - Salah - De Bruyne - Alli
    Jesus - Kane
    ____________________________________
    Elliot: RLC, Hunemeier, McBurnie

    Which option suits best here?

    A) DDG + Cedric + Willian + Lukaku (before team)

    B) Hart + Franciz + Alli + Jesus (After team)

I realise above, i have no Mn U cover, and no Chelsea cover, which oddly enough i'm happy going without until a possible early WC, my only quandry is lukaku.

Any suggestions/opinions are most welcome thanks.

Any reliable sources on Coutinho. Seems like LFC board allowing him to talk to Barca

No idea., but... Who would pull the strings in attacking midfield if Coutinho leaves? I'm trying to rememember how Liverpool lined up in the past with Coutinho injured, but it's all a bit of a blur.

Worth downgrading kolasniac though? I think he looks good for attacking points. Price will rose quick especially after today! Zaha does look a great price though
