Our summer series of members’ articles – offering an in-depth team-by-team analysis of 2016/17 – continues with West Bromwich Albion.

To begin with, we’ll look at the performance levels over the team statistics in an attempt to spot trends or improvements.

We then delve into the player data, analysing the key individuals as we scour for early targets ahead of the new season.

In addition, we’ll check in on the Baggies’ threat from set-pieces, in particular, with their reliance on dead-ball situations remaining pivotal to their prospects.

West Brom certainly upped their attacking output in the previous season.

Pulis’ side netted a mere 34 goals – the second-worst record in the top-flight – on their way to finishing in fourteenth spot in 2015/6. Yet last term, they found the net on 43 occasions to claim tenth position.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

why would u have him as an option if u don't know why people are favouring him?

      nailed on
      cheap
      decent fixtures
      decent player

downside is he plays for hudds and isnt on penos. also never been tested in PL

He scored a lot during HUD pre-season matches. Check at pre-season tab for more information.

From these three, I'd go with Mounie too.

14 goals for Montpellier in Ligue 1, one less than Mbappe for a much worse team. Huddersfield have promising opening fixtures. CPA, NEW, SOT, WHU, LEI, BUR are their opening 6 games

Even though he wont be in my GW1 squad, I'm really backing Ramsey to have a great season and prove under priced at 7m this year, if he stays fit.
But if Sanchez stays at arsenal, and do have a similar season as the last, is it really reasonable to have both in the squad?

If not, it really make the case for Ramsey a lot weaker

Been Kane-less for 24 hours now and I still feel good about the below.

    Hart (Elliot)
Kol / Cedric / Ake (Suttner, Mason)
KDB / Alli / Zaha / JWP (Carroll)
    Luk / Jesus / Firm

Ake/Daniels and Hart/Ryan still doing my nut but they'll be sorted by Friday.

No. I fully expect him to start well, just think Jesus will too and hope that the money not having him has freed up with get me the extra points elsewhere.

Kane isn't a 3.0 better prospect than Alli on the surface IMO.

This is what I am hoping will be the case. Don't have him either, as it seems I can really beef up defense and the overall look of the team looks much better without him...

But then there is the chance he will just kick on from the end of last season and I will be in big trouble...

    Mane - KDB - Ince - Atsu - Carrol

It looks likely that Utd will score more goals this season. That leaves it more likely that Bailly will receive less Bonus points for clean sheets and the 0.5 outlay looks well worth it if Valencia can provide assists from a Leung back type role. Assist + CS often results in max bonus also and Valencia's key passes, recovers and successful dribbles often mean he performs well in the BPS scoring system.

Looks good although wouldn't get too excited about preseason form as most of the time it never correlates to what will happen over the course of a season

Looks weak but with Utd and Southampton's fixtures, only one of Ake, Suttner and Mee will be needed each week. If anything, it will be risky to bench two defenders with BPS and attacking potential.

First ask for some help 🙂

    Ryan

    Daniels Bertrand Dann

    Zaha Willian Salah Carroll

    Kane Jesus Lukaku

Bench - Mee Chalobah Elliot Fosu-Mensah

    0.5 in the bank.

What would you suggest to this? Worried about defence but so many uncertainties with the big clubs. Fosu is a pure gamble.

I would have Lascelles as nailed with him being captain. Think it will be him and the French lad at CB.

Dummett doesn't have any real competition at LB. Lazaar signed as LB last season for £3.5m but never featured. Gamez, who can play either but never really featured last season replaced him when subs came but no way he will start in PL games.

Manquillo started final friendly on Sunday and was worked well with Ritchie albeit against a poor Verona side. Yedlin didn't get any game time in that game, Mullins ended up RB from CM after a raft of changes.

I only have Alli. I figure I'll end up with Kane eventually so don't want the burden of having to dump a Spurs mid.

        Don't need two IMO.
