The final countdown has begun with the new season kick-off now less than 24-hours away.

Earlier the week the ScoutCast grew gathered as the clock ticked down, with Jonty, Andy and Luke joining myself to tackle a raft of perfectly targeted questions from you – the community.

Each of us take turns to reveal our current line-ups, while the collection of queries allowed us to put each of the four positions under the microscope. On occasions, we even broke from the ScoutCast tradition to provide some definitive answers.

Pre-season gremlins struck as I dropped out in full flow on Paul Pogba, but I managed to return to steer the ship towards its final destination – the first weekend preview of the new campaign.

It’s good to be back.

        Just looking at Salah to Mkhitaryan.

        Would let me use £1m on defence / GK but also means no Liverpool "cover". Arsenal (h) and Man City (a) not great in GW3 and 4 for Liverpool though

      Possible but too risky for me. I would rather start off with a JWP/ Fraser/ Groß type option and be able to rotate with Carroll. If Carroll proves to be good enough you can always downgrade the aforementioned later on. It's more difficult and risky to do it the other way round.

      Too much spent in defence, IMO, but a lovely team otherwise!

        Cheers mate! Might go the JWP routes but I'm looking at it and can see 9/11 premium players with Yoshida and Carroll/Loftus backing them up...

        But I get what your saying... need to decide soon , it's getting late!

      Stephens seems the safest short term pick but the riskiest long term. You playin the short or long game? I like to save transfers for mids early doors
