The final countdown has begun with the new season kick-off now less than 24-hours away.

Earlier the week the ScoutCast grew gathered as the clock ticked down, with Jonty, Andy and Luke joining myself to tackle a raft of perfectly targeted questions from you – the community.

Each of us take turns to reveal our current line-ups, while the collection of queries allowed us to put each of the four positions under the microscope. On occasions, we even broke from the ScoutCast tradition to provide some definitive answers.

Pre-season gremlins struck as I dropped out in full flow on Paul Pogba, but I managed to return to steer the ship towards its final destination – the first weekend preview of the new campaign.

It’s good to be back.

            I think there's a chance, but the new manager seems to prefer 1 up front. I'm currently on Chicharito because of that.

    So about the liverpool fixtures - they have 5 games in 2 weeks so is anyone worried about rotation for Salah (Possibly Firmino but Klopp loves him!)? Surely I should avoid based on that risk?

      Mane Bobby and Wij scored in a 3-1 win over Arsenal last year. The City game was a 1-1 with the most insane number of chances in recent memory for a low scoring draw.

            Coutinho and Can are first teamers. None of the others bar Sturridge are good enough. You may get an 75th minute sub but that's about it. That's so much time for this team to do damage.

      Really we're looking to make things easier by finding reasons to rule some of the many options available to us out of our teams and those fixtures + the possibility of rotation are enough to do that for me.

      Plus as a United fan it's nice to 100% back against Liverpool doing well.

      Liverpool are so dangerous that I'm not worried. Would be far worse if they had Spurs and Chelsea/Man Utd instead. Only worry is Coutinho not playing due to Barca transfer and how that effects the teams creativity.

          Heart would probably go for it as I expect City to come out all guns blazing. Head wont let me though. Playing it safe the first few weeks, plenty of football to be played still.

      Personally would choose Ritchie over Philips... and do you really need all 3 City big hitters!? One off week for them and the Chelsea/Arsenal/ManUtd points will hurt you...

          True - I would say do an Aguero -> Lukaku to be safe but I have it ingrained from the last 3 seasons that you definitely will get hurt without Aguero!

    Surprised I've barely seen anybody take a punt on Phil Jones at 5m. Looks like he'll start the season alongside Bailly and given Man Utd's fixtures could rack up a few clean sheets early on.
