After Aaron Mooy fired Huddersfield to victory over Newcastle, we make our way to Wembley as Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea go head-to-head in Sunday’s final fixture.

A victory for Spurs today would set a new club record of 15 successive home league wins, yet their record in competitive matches at Wembley – two wins, one draw and seven losses – is anything but convincing.

Subject to over 164,000 transfers out last week, Harry Kane has now gone 11 Premier League matches in August without finding the net.

Yet Kane was still the second most captained player for Gameweek 2, handed the armband by 526,000+ FPL managers as he looks to recover from last Sunday’s blank at Newcastle.

Both Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli plundered the points at St James’ Park to put Kane in the shade.

They also combined for both goals in the corresponding fixture last season, with Eriksen supplying assists for Alli’s pair of strikes in a 2-0 home win over the champions.

For Chelsea, Alvaro Morata is handed his first start after emerging from the bench to bag a goal and assist in last week’s shock home loss to Burnley.

But there’s no Eden Hazard as he fails to recover from an ankle injury in time for the Wembley encounter.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

So...more goals and clean sheets? That was the tied best defence in the league last season. And it was an away game for Alonso.

Alonso is capable of hauls. Loads of goal threat in the opening 2 games, a share of set-piece duties & will get a fair few cleanies. He's not Hegazi in GW1 - I'd back him to match that score again this season.

That's why I own Alonso. As much as last week's zero was horrible to look at for a 7M defender, he's also eminently capable of rescuing a poor GW, with a hell of a lot more fun thrown in than sitting doggedly praying for a CS for 90 mins.

    DDG
    Kolasinac - Kompany - Stephens - Daniels
    KDB - Willian - Ritchie

This Kane august thing is really doing my head in. He hit the post today and was unlucky. People have based their evidence on TWO occasions. Next you'll be finding stats that a player has never scored a goal in september and coming to the conclusion that you must sell him at the end of august to avoid this obvious drought.

    BBC commentary

55 mins: He's had seven shots on goal - two more than the entire Chelsea team - but the ball just won't go in the net for him.

I disagree. It has to do with fitness/sharpness after the off season, and tiredness suffered by internationals. Rooney had the same problem (though that was also crisps and pizza related)

Tiredness suffered by internationals? He played 2 games in June. I think next year after the world cup tottenham should give him till october to recover, maybe that will help.
