Our latest round of fixes and improvements have gone live this morning.

The addition of Fantasy Premier League prices is the headline act – something that I know a good number of members have been requesting for some time.

Prices are updated daily and can be found as a sortable column in our player tables.

We’ve also added them as a global filter, allowing you to limit the players shown in a table by a maximum FPL price.

This filter is also available in custom tables, so now you can decide to build tables with a fixed maximum price in mind.

Elsewhere, we’ve added some new statistics in several areas.

Goalkeepers now have the Shots Faced and Shots on Target Faced statistics in their Goalkeeping table. We’ve also used these to calculate a Save Percentage stat. These are all useful numbers for assessing the worth of goalkeeper options.

Total shots conceded, along with total shots on target conceded, have also been added to the Team Stats Defending table. These are key indicators of team defensive form and are also added to team profiles and the team comparison tool.

We’ve also addressed some fixes in our BPS calculation. We’ve discovered that FPL does not register a save for a goalkeeper unless the shot was considered on target, so we’ve now addressed that. In addition, own goals were not factored into our Winning Goal statistic. That has been corrected.

We plan some further BPS work in the next update. We’re still not convinced on our Net Tackles calculation and will be sanity checking that against Gameweek 5 data – expect that to be tweaked in the next update.

Finally, we spotted a bug in our heatmaps display of chances created conceded. The positions were inverted when data was filtered for home or away matches only – we’ve now fixed this.

Oh, and before we go, we’ve also added a fix that should correct the auto scrolling issue that some users were suffering in Chrome. We recommend that you update to the new version if you’re still seeing this issue.

What’s coming next?

The big news is that we’re expecting to integrate both expected goals and expected assists on our test servers later this month.

We’re not sure if that’s going to make update six, but we would certainly be optimistic on update seven.

However, the main emphasis now and for the next two to three months will be HomeCrowd.

Mat will be getting up to speed with this code and our first step will be to optimise what we have, in preparation for some new features and tweaks.

I hope to bring you an update on that work, and expected goals, by the end of the month.

You can see our current task list and track our progress through the next update via this roadmap.

You can also send your feedback and requests to me at mark@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk

Our previous updates are detailed here, here, here and here.

A reminder that, if you want access to this update and other future additions to the members’ area, you can sign up now for £12.50. This is due to increase to £15 very, very soon, so get in quick if you’re wavering.

Existing registered users can upgrade via this link. New users, who are yet to get a registered account, can sign up via this link.

If you’re new to the benefits of Fantasy Football Scout membership, you can get full details, along with a series of movies previewing the content, via this page.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Hi,
This development squad, I read the updates. Looks great. However, I am a member and I do still not have a clue on what it is. Would be great if you could add in some clarification about that so that all readers can out it into context.

If you log in to members.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk you will see the player stats tables.

In those tables, we now list prices and, above the table, you can now filter what is shown by max price.

Have you visited the members area?

If a player has had lots of price rises such as Hegazi, does that make them more susceptible to big falls than a player with a stable price?

If you can resolve this dilemma you're a genius!

    Which one is better?

    A. Mane + Jones + Mbemba
    B. Richarlison + Alonso + Kolasinac

Surely considering the importance of set pieces in the modern game, footballers should practice them more in training? All they ever seem to do are the same passing/shooting drills over and over

I'm sure they do. What makes you think they don't? I reckon Pulis allows 10 minutes of five-aside and 3 hours 50 minutes of near post corner routines.

just watched Soccer AM's vid with JWP where he said that he practices FKs 2-3 times a week. Surely if you're the designated free kick taker for a team you should be practicing every day, considering pros spend 7-8 hours a day on training grounds

How much does practice really effect players at this level though? It's more a case of just keeping up certain skills than improving them through "training"/practice.

Direct shots on goal from a free kick you mean? The very best free kick takers score 2, maybe 3 in an outstanding season. Very low reward part of the game.

I imagine set plays in general - indirect free kicks, corners, etc. get far more attention.

All guesswork on my part though 🙂

These days, not even that. 🙂

Right, but even Payet only scored 2 league goals from free kicks in his stellar season. It's why I like having direct free kick takers in my FPL team but it's pretty much never a deciding factor for me.

No, I agree. But it is sad that someone like Barkley, say, does not practice it.

Right, that's why I make the distinction between direct and indirect - corners and indirect free kicks come along far more often, it's one of the reasons why I'd like Brady 🙂

Firmino has played the most minutes this season from the front 3 and played on int duties..

At a glancing guess, Robertson and Mane to be rested against Burnley, loads to be rested in CC and maybe firmino rested against Newcastle

We have the numbers to cope with rotation but guys like Sturridge, and ox need to step up

They need Mané to break Burnley open. They've proven themselves to not be a walk in the park away to Chelsea and Tottenham, and Liverpool barely beat them last year.

If we beat Sevilla, then maybe full strength vs Newc and rotation away in Moscow

Joyce said last night his agency want a release clause inserted, which is understandable given how we stopped Cout from going Barca

Give him and promise him what he wants, he is something special. No surprise Juve want him.

I'm not happy with the performance of KDB and Kane but think can will explode in the next weeks...

          1 FT 0.0itb

          Fab
          Yoshida, Jones, Suttner_or_Daniels
          Mané, Willian, KDB, Carroll
          Kane, Lukaku, Firmino

          (Elliot, Suttner_or_Daniels, Long, RLC)

          A) Go for Mooy, Richarlison or something like this for KDB and do next week Willian -> Hazard
          B) Mhiki or Eriksen/Alli for KDV and see later how to go with Hazard

DDG + Willian to Forster + Antonio (-4)

Only for 2 weeks until my WC

Forster is not a good FPL goalie, imho.

Crap. But, strangely, I am happy with my team! 😀

Maybe I am just deluding myself ... 😉

I have watched Forster for three Seasons now. As soon as Saints settle, his points will dry up.

It's Pellegrino that has kept him out of training with the team, not the other way around. Everybody wants Van Dijk to be back in the team right away. He'll start if Pellegrino thinks he is ready.

think Sanches is in competition with Britton/Mesa rather than Carroll but there could be a formation change which would affect him
