Both Liverpool and Stoke City look set to go into Gameweek 6 with a host of defensive concerns.

Meanwhile, Swansea City boss Paul Clement is mulling over a first start for Wilfried Bony for the visit of Watford to the Liberty Stadium.

Dejan Lovren is a major doubt for Liverpool’s trip to Leicester with a back problem, while Joel Matip and Emre Can are also nursing knocks, though the latter was pictured in training on Thursday. Sadio Mane serves the final fixture of his three-match suspension in the visit to the King Power. Jurgen Klopp may now be forced to field a makshift backline, with Joe Gomez retained in a central role following his EFL Cup outing and Trent Alexander-Arnold returning at right-back.

Earlier this morning, Stoke manager Mark Hughes conceded that he has a number of problems in defence ahead of the home meeting against Chelsea. Geoff Cameron and Ryan Shawcross are definitely out due to injury, Kurt Zouma is ineligible to face his parent club, while Kevin Wimmer is rated as “touch and go” after sustaining a hamstring injury. Hughes could now look to both Erik Pieters and Glen Johnson as stand-in centre-backs should he retain a three-man defence.

Swansea City head coach Paul Clement has revealed that Wilfried Bony is in contention to make his first league start of the season against Watford.

But Hornets defenders Sebastian Prodl and Younes Kaboul remain sidelined for the Liberty Stadium visit and Miguel Britos is still suspended.

Pedro Obiang and James Collins will both miss the home clash with Spurs, but Mark Noble is available again. Manuel Lanzini is back in training, but this weekend is too early for the Argentine.

Jonathan Walters is expected to miss Burnley’s home meeting with Huddersfield Town due to a knee problem.

And the Terriers will be without midfielder Danny Williams for the Turf Moor encounter due to a broken bone in his foot. Summer signing Steve Mounie misses out once again due to a heel problem, with Laurent Depoitre expected to shrug off a muscle problem to deputise up front.

Tyrone Mings has been ruled out for around two months with a back injury, but Junior Stanislas returns to contention as Bournemouth make their way to Everton.

Mauricio Pellegrino will decide today what part Virgil van Dijk will play in the home meeting with Manchester United. Matt Targett (ankle) looks set to miss out, though Charlie Austin is fit and available to challenge Shane Long for a start up front.

Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Izzy Brown has returned to training this week following a hamstring injury and could be named in the squad for the home clash against Newcastle United.

Mesut Ozil looks to have a good chance of being fit for Monday night’s home fixture against West Bromwich Albion following a knee problem, but Calum Chambers and Danny Welbeck are both ruled out until after the international break.

Anybody these transfers worth a -4 to avoid having to play one of Carroll, RLC or Carroll this week?

    A RLC or Carroll > Gross/Shaqiri -4
    B Cedric > Otamendi/Baines -4
    C Tuanzabe > Mee/Jagielka -4

Wouldn't double Swansea. Get rid of Fabianski for 4.0 or Naughton.

      I'd rather Otamendi than Stones.

Doing the first option you'd get Kolasinac for Stones

Think kola is better prospect then otamebdi or stones?

Could do this if I swap fab for Krul but then just relying on Elliot in goal

          Thanks for advice

Maybe Brighton thought that it would be best if they could play Krul for the two matches vs Newcastle

Thinking of going Ramsey and Atsu over Gross and Ritchie?

    Thoughts?

I hate the idea of selling Lukaku, seeing just how likely he is to score 2+ goals in every game at the moment. Gets tons of chances and has a good record vs Sot (A).

Can't justify a -4 to get Aguero in really.

    1. HashAttack
      9 years, 1 month ago

He only scored a brace in week 1 ... record is 2/1/0/1/1 .... harder fixtures, no Pogba and more matches so I don't see where all these 2+ goals are expected from

    W/c team, almost there

Do I gamble on Cresswell or Maguire over Jones though?

    Fabianski
    Bavies - Kola - Jones/Cresswell/Maguire - Fernandez - Mbemba
    Salah - Alli - Silva - Atsu - Rlc
    Aguero - Vardy - Morata

    1. Dazzleraz
      9 years, 1 month ago

cresswell may not be the best prospect in the medium to long term as Arnie might take the set pieces.. Maguire is one im keeping an eye on but waiting for good fixtures..Jones is safe option if you have no united gk or def

Funny you should say that mate, a similar thing happened to me. Kaku wined and dined me but i wanted to do a -16 to get mooy, rlc, atsu, choupo moting and mounie in. mounie didnt play last week and jaanmaat came off my bench to give me -1 lol, unlucky week for me.

      1. FPLMatt
        9 years, 1 month ago

Damn thats so unlucky... I thought my luck was bad... I did -44 last week because I wanted full City, Spurs and United exposure for their games but I forgot to activate my free hit chip. Yours is definitely much worse though.

On WC and looking at 4-3-3:

    Fabianski
    Jones Kolasinac Bavies XXX
    DSilva Mikki XXX
    Lukaku Aguero XXX

    Subs: Elliott, Mbemba, Carroll, King

    A: Jagielka + Salah + Vardy
    B: Martina + Ritchie + Kane
C: Downgrade Jones to Simpson and go 3-4-3 as below

    Fabianski
    Simpson Kolasinac Bavies
    DSilva Mikki Salah Ritchie
    Lukaku Aguero Vardy

    Subs: Elliott, Mbemba, King, Martina

What is the latest people use their WC? Playing fpl 1st time so honestly nooooo idea. Should I even use it on 2nd international? Is there good money to be made if I WC then? Is 3rd international break 'too late' to do it? (between GW11 and GW12)

It's early to start thinking and lot can happen in 2 weeks.

    Elliot | Foster*
    Alonso | Kolasinac | Davies | Bertrand | Hune
    Eriksen | Mkhi | Atsu | Carroll | Phillips***
    Lukaku | Aguero | Chicarito***

No Pool attack is the biggest concern but can't have 'em all. Want one of Vardy/Firmino but that'll take me 2 weeks.
