After Arsenal eased past Brighton at the Emirates, we now make our way to Merseyside as Everton welcome Burnley to Goodison Park.

The Toffees’ start to the season has been far from convincing yet they have scored seven goals in their last three home matches across all competitions.

Budget frontmen Oumar Niasse and Dominic Calvert-Lewin – at 5.0 apiece in FPL – are both handed starts but Wayne Rooney’s 11% FPL owners are left disappointed as Ronald Koeman drops him to the bench for the first time this season.

Elsewhere for the hosts, Gylfi Sigurdsson looks to stake a claim for our five-man midfields ahead of clashes with Brighton, Leicester, Watford and Palace in the next five.

But Burnley’s away form will worry the home side.

Sean Dyche’s men have claimed points on the road at Chelsea, Spurs and Liverpool, with Robbie Brady and Chris Wood looking their likeliest source of attacking points.

Like their hosts, the Clarets also have fine upcoming fixtures – they entertain West Ham, Newcastle and Swansea and travel to Southampton in the subsequent five.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

    Would you go with:
    A)
    Davies, Otamendi, Monreal, Jones, Mbemba
    Salah, Silva, Ritchie, Gross, Loftus

    or
    B)
Stones, Monreal, Jones, Martina(or any 4.5), Mbemba
    Eriksen, Salah, Silva, Carroll, Loftus

I have 3 premium forwards for the record. Thanks.

Depends what you define as premium I guess. Lukaku, Lacazette and Morata. Pope and Elliot as keepers.

Yes, those are premium 🙂 ... similar for me but with Kane and not Lukaku
I definitely cannot afford three premium mids, even with a TV of 103.5 - as such I have gone for a strong defence instead and just trying to have reliable options for my 3rd mid

          Fabianski / Elliot
          Ottamendi / Davies / Azpi / Monreal / Kiko
          Mkhi / Silva / Richarlison / Gross / King
          Kane / Morata / Laca

Looks like I recommend option A

I've sacrificed my defence to be able to afford it. Trying to play my defence based off fixtures and making sure they rotate well to have all 4 as green games. Just not really sure whether it's worth it just so I can have Eriksen in. Once Aguero is back in a few weeks I was planning on just switching Monreal back to a 4.5 (as I did Monreal and Laca in for Aguero and Trent AA this week). But now looking at maybe whether I should strengthen my defence instead and like you have a reasonable third mid option instead. How have you managed to get such a high TV mines 102 and I thought that was pretty decent.

TV is from more transfers than I would like ... I get rid off players once it is clear that people are selling and that there won't be any increase in SV (currently 101.8). Rule 1 - Never lose SV on a player

I'm tending to buy rising players who are below their initial value - e.g. Kane, Laca, Monreal
I'm adamant that building SV is more important than points at this stage

I definitely agree with you and that's also how I've built up mine quite a bit but I try not to do too many transfers as I feel like there's still a fine balance and being within reach of leaders of your leagues and having high TV. What OR are you?

OR is in recovery mode ... 2.3M atm but team is looking a lot better than my rivals

My main issue is still making the right choices, hits pale in comparison with choosing the right captain, the right subs or the right transfers

This week I sold Jones (thought he wasn't starting) and benched Otamendi ... 3 points for Kiko / Azpi instead of 11, and a -4 for the transfer ... a 15 point swing

12 point swing ... on the flip side, I had to wait till Saturday morning to take my 100K profit on Lascelles and get in the 5.4 Monreal ... so 11 points up, less whatever points Lascelles get

Yup had similar, got all my 50/50's wrong so far and cost me around 50 points through transfers (20 points of hits and 30 from players performing who i transferred out) and like 40 points from picking the wrong captain vs my vice captain. Difference between being 600k and like top 500. My team is feeling decent but need to make this decision whether I go with keeping Eriksen and having a worse defence or going with the other team where I have a weaker third midfielder but slightly stronger defence.

Can someone explain why Bellerin gets given an assist but Eriksen doesn't yesterday. Like what is the actual difference between the two??

      Eriksen didn’t touch the ball

      1. Pep says
        • 10 Years

Eriksen had possession before he lost it so he did touch it but it wasn't an assist.

    2. Football Weekender
      • 9 Years

Because Bellerin’s shot was blocked, whereas Eriksen tried to turn inside his man and the defender kicked the ball to Davies.

But Bellerin's shot was going nowhere near mineral the defender effectively played it to him...

But the defender deflected it to Monreal. These are always given as FPL assists. You don't have to agree with it. These are the facts and this how FPL awards assists

    3. Pep says

Because Bellerin's attempt was deflected to Monreal. These are always given as FPL assists.

Eriksen was dispossessed yesterday and the Huddersfield defender flicked it onto Davies

Eriksens ball was in the opposite direction. Only went to Davies because it bounced off a defender. Watch it again.

Yeah but the same can be said for Bellerin. Don't get me wrong I don't think Eriksen should have an assist but don't know how bellerins can be considered an assist
