It’s been quite a start to the season for Ben Davies. Currently leading all defenders in terms of points with 49 – a number which trails only Sergio Aguero and Romelu Lukaku at any position – the Welshman’s form is inarguable.

In the six matches in which he has featured (Davies was rested for Spurs’ home encounter with Swansea in Gameweek 5), he has returned an average of 8.2 points per match (ppm) – more than a point clear of his closest rival (Antonio Valencia’s 6.7).

Last season, Davies performed admirably while deputising for the injured Danny Rose – racking up a goal and three assists, in addition to his share of Spurs’ league-leading clean sheet total. However, his attacking returns this campaign (two goals, three assists) have already exceeded last season’s totals in just 30% of the minutes.

In order to better interpret this attacking leap, we’ll be breaking down Davies’ early-season heroics, and looking for players who might serve as good benchmarks for projecting the Welshman’s performance over the remainder of the campaign.

This current Argentina might be the worst of all time. Weird as they have Messi, De Maria, Kun, Dybala, Higuain, Icardi 🙁

Get Sane and Sterling in for Mkhi and Salah if I get no injuries in the international break?

    Begovic Elliot

    Eriksen Salah Mkhi Ramsey Carroll
    Kane Lukaku Abraham

I feel like this is one of those moves where it feels right to do both simply because you can't decide between them, when in reality neither transfer is oarticularly inspiring by itself. I would consider Mkhi to Sterling, or using the FTs to do something less arousing but more sesible and .... point-scoring.

An example of the second transfer being what exactly?

I'm pretty happy getting rid of Mkhi due to his poor stats and utds fixtures
Also fairly happy with getting rid of Salah with Liverpool in bad form with utd and spurs next

How do I fit in some Man City this week?

    Alli, Ritchie, Coutinho, Chalobah, Carroll
    Kane, Lukaku, Vardy

    0.2 ITB

    A) Coutinho > Sterling (coutinho has tough fixtures, and I could bring him back after those)
    B) Lukaku > Jesus (not too keen on this, as I prefer Sterling for MC)
    C) Alli + Vardy > Jesus + Sterling (-4)

Haven't heard anything about Couts being injured, what's that about?

I can't lose Alli before Bournemouth at home, and yes the (-4) looks a bit sideways at best.

Perhaps Lukaku > Jesus is justified.

Need to win game, subs on Gago and effectively benches one of Dybala or Icardi.

Gago gets injured, Dybala and Icardi forced to stay on bench.

If I wasn't a fan of this team, I'd be laughing so much at how this stupid manager's arrogance backfired there

And the real kicker is that we had hope with Sampaoli. The dude revolutionized Chile.
