It’s been quite a start to the season for Ben Davies. Currently leading all defenders in terms of points with 49 – a number which trails only Sergio Aguero and Romelu Lukaku at any position – the Welshman’s form is inarguable.

In the six matches in which he has featured (Davies was rested for Spurs’ home encounter with Swansea in Gameweek 5), he has returned an average of 8.2 points per match (ppm) – more than a point clear of his closest rival (Antonio Valencia’s 6.7).

Last season, Davies performed admirably while deputising for the injured Danny Rose – racking up a goal and three assists, in addition to his share of Spurs’ league-leading clean sheet total. However, his attacking returns this campaign (two goals, three assists) have already exceeded last season’s totals in just 30% of the minutes.

In order to better interpret this attacking leap, we’ll be breaking down Davies’ early-season heroics, and looking for players who might serve as good benchmarks for projecting the Welshman’s performance over the remainder of the campaign.

This whole CONMEBOL thing is so complicated right now.

That Paraguay win actually really messed things up for Peru. Colombia were supposed to go to Lima already qualified and having partied for five days, instead they go there having to win to secure themselves a spot. Also, Paraguay winning at home to Venezuela (highly likely) will mean a draw probably won't be enough for Peru.

Will try to get my breath back by wednesday night...

Hi all.Glad to share your opinions here please.
3 top heavy upfront and 4 heavy back makes the mid line weak.
As i see though,Alonso,Davies, Kola and 3 front are season keepers.
    What would you change here?

    --Elliot
    --Alonso--Davies--Kola--Jones
    --Silva--Richie--Gross
    --Kane--Luk--Jesus
    ///Foster///Suttner///Chalobah///King

    1.0itb. Wc used.
    a) Downgrade Kola and Suttner and bring in Coutinho/Salah for Richie.
    b) upgrade Suttner to Otamendi and leave mid as it is.

    Thanks guys.

I don't know tbh mate. None of them seem that reliable, need longer to see if Choupo isn't just a flash in the pan. Gross plays for a side poor going forwards, Brady plays in a sider that doesn't score much but has set pieces. I've got Brady and think I'll just hold for now, although he could be on his last legs in my side shortly. Most promising atm seems to be Choupo but not sure the returns will keep coming

Any suggestions for this team? I am considering to WC due to the fixture changes (in particular to get Chelsea and Man City players, and to remove Man U players).

    De Gea (Elliot)
    Dawson Naughton Lascalles (Lowe Long)
    Salah Silva Brady Atsu (Carroll)
    Kane Lukaku Lacazette
    1FT 1.3ITB

    WC team would be:
    Ryan (Elliot)
    Alonso Azpi Stones Simpson (Ward)
    Salah Silva Choupo-Moting (Carroll RLC)

This. And also the spread of goals. Any of the 4 could easily score. You would need 2 goals a game to obtain an assist or goal a match. Couple this with the fixtures and I think that there are better options.

Won't get much love from The Shed End ref. Willian, surely better options. Game time hardly assured either.

I wouldn't get Cout. until he starts smiling again and stops looking like he's sucking a camels rectum.

Would monitor Mbemba before pulling the trigger on him too.

anything you guys would change on this WC team?

would love to upgrade Salah to Hazard but would have to sacrifice defence. 3 Man City players in attack a risk I know but could also pay off big time - would downgrade one to Richarlison in a few game weeks when Kun back.

    Elliot Pereira

    Jones Davies Luiz Cedric (Ward)

    Salah Sane Sterling (Carroll, RLC)

    Jesus Kane Vardy

Thoughts on what to do here? Would ideally be getting Firmino out and Jesus in.. Would need a downgrade and hit elsewhere though..

    Elliot - Foster
    Jones - Davies - Naughton - Lowe - Mbemba
    Eriksen - Mkhi - Ramsey - Richarlison - Carrol
    Kane - Lacazette - Firmino

The only real downgrade could be Mikhi but would you want 6 mil mid plus Jesus instead of what you have?

Other option is to downgrade Ramsey -> a 6.4 or less... Shaqiri/Chupo?

Yeah but your mids will stifle future changes.

Downgrade Mkhi to get into midprice-midfield-minefield and get Jesus in.

Are Richarlison, Brady & Fellaini viable midfield starters? I think they are... Very cheap too

They are starters but potential is not so good...

2 out of 3 each week yes. But you will get frustrated with the choice each week.

Depends on what you do with the money saved I reckon, personally I wouldn't be wanting to start all 3 or are you looking to rotate them?

Fellaini ? If he doesn't start he will always come in for final 10mins. To head the ball away from their box or to be a target.

Pope simply because you will have 11.5% of your budget tied up with Chelsea defence.

As you already have Pope and Jesus, bring in Moses and 3 Saints. Who else - maybe Jese.

        A) but maybe Fabianski.also Creswell worth to consider. Not likely to get any attacking returns from any Saints player.

Consider Cedric just because the coming 4 easy game.

If I choose Pope, I will miss the CS potential of Courtois and only can buy Ars def (Big 6).
In fact, still not sure about this move.
