Through the first two months of the season, no side has scored more frequently than Manchester City.

In their second season under Pep Guardiola’s tutelage, City have averaged more than three goals per match to open this campaign and already look to be mounting the strongest title challenge on show.

With Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus as options in attack, we are blessed with two obvious routes to investment. However, reading Pep Guardiola’s intentions with the pair remains a test, made all the more difficult by the news of Aguero’s return to light training following his rib injury.

Just as Gabriel Jesus seemed cemented in the central attacking role, suddenly Aguero’s return seems more imminent, casting further doubts on the likely minutes of the pair over forthcoming Gameweeks.

So, instead, our attentions are drawn to City’s midfield in an effort to achieve coverage of this potent attacking unit while we wait for the striker situation to resolve.

In this article, we’ll be running the rule over three mid-priced Manchester City midfield options – David Silva, Leroy Sane and Raheem Sterling – alongside the more expensive Kevin De Bruyne, in an effort to ascertain where best to seek value from this side over the coming Gameweeks.

Kinda want them both myself – have ota on my WC, but personally a bit wary of Chelski def without Kante. Should be safe this GW either way, though.

My current backline if you're interested:

Ota Bavies Maguire Ward (Mbemba, considering upgrade to wimmer)

thats a pretty solid def i hadnt considered the Kante factor probably edges it for city for the next three, i plan to wc next international break so will have to bring in a chelsea def then hopefully rose is fit so the davies switch is easy to make.

It seems that it was an 'international injury', which is disgraceful considering how important those games were for Scotland.

Form suggests that there is rather a huge gap between the 2 sides particularly with Stoke having 2 key defenders missing.

      City: plus points:
      Great side.
      Score goals for fun.
      Great fixtures
      Weaknesses:
      Rotation risks all over.
      Tired legs

      Stoke vs City
      Missing 2 defenders.

Conclusion: not as great as it looks for City but better than united/spurs/arsenal/pool

On WC, looking at two options. Have always used 3-4-3, but considering going with 4-4-2 on this WC.

    Team 1: 3-4-3
    Pope | Elliot
Davies Monreal Ward | Clark HÜNEMEIER
SALAH Silva Sterling Doucoure | Carroll
    Lukaku Kane VARDY

    Team 2: 4-4-2
    Pope | Elliot
Davies Monreal Ward STONES | Clark
HAZARD Silva Sterling Doucoure | Carroll
    Lukaku Kane | ABRAHAM

    Basically
    Vardy, Salah + Hünemeier (bench)
    or
    Hazard, Stones + Abraham (bench)

    What would YOU prefer?

I quite like the balance of this WC. So tempted to take the risk on Hazard.

    Would rotate Ryan/Elliot and Mee/Clark.

    What you think?

    Ryan
    Otamendi • Bavies • Cedric • Mee
    Hazard • Richarlison • Sterling
    Kaku • Kane • Vardy

    (Elliot / Clark / RLC / Stephens)

      Taking out your serious logic:

Bournemouth let in goals so I would be nervous with them too.
Puts Burnley top of the list for me.

What if in football (like in so many other sports) there was a GB team instead, what would your best 11 look like? I wonder whether it would be considerably better than just England (or any of the others for that matter)! And why is it that in football they are separate but in the Olympics, for instance, it's team GB? Andy Murray playing for GB, not Scotland. It might feel funny in football as you're so used to England, Scotland, Wales, and N. Ireland being separate, but if you really wanna win the WC in the future..... 😉

Hi all, I have 0.5 ITB & 2 FT left. So I have to do at least one transfer in the upcoming gw. I am confused about the following transfer decisions:

    1. Lukaku to jesus (save FT)
    2. Bellerin to Luiz (Save FT)
    3. Lukaku to Jesus & Bellerin to Alonso/Salah to Hazard/Atsu to Richarlison
    4. Salah to Sterling/Sane/Silva + Atsu to Richarlison

Which one would be the best transfer decision?

Who would you take out for Silva? Mkhi or Salah?

Mkhi definitely. Compare how many goals Salah has scored compared to him and Liverpool have had a much tougher run of fixtures.

Would people get Cedric in on Saturday morning if he's still very very close to a price drop?

I probably wouldn't risk it. All it would take is to sleep in or internet problems, distractions etc and wildcard is wasted.
