Careering out of the international break at speed, the ScoutCast returns in anticipation of a turning point in our seasons.

We’ve been chattering for several weeks on the much anticipated “fixture swing”, and now we’re all set to put ourselves at its mercy.

What does it mean for our Fantasy line-ups?

In truth, with multiple transfers and Wildcards at our disposal, Jonty, Andy, Luke and myself started this latest episode still seeking our own answers. Over almost 90 minutes and with your community questions providing the steer, we do our best to reach some conclusions.

We weigh up Manchester United exit plans, Liverpool’s blunted attack and Jamie Vardy’s recuperation techniques, before previewing Gameweek 8 in the usual hap-hazard style.

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday night. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

If you’re a traditional type, you can acquire the mp3 audio version via this link on the first player below, or take in the full visual experience via the second player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

VVD not worth the money. Yoshida.

          Dunk to Duffy
          Wimmer to Lascelles.

              9 years, 21 days ago

If Cedric drops to 4.9m before the GW deadline could be better than VVD as Jones placeholder. Keeping Jones myself as United will park bus and find 2 clean sheets out of the next 4 (Huddersfield +1).

              1. Chris_White
                9 years, 21 days ago

I'm not planning to use 2 FT's though. Which almost certainly would have to happen if I go Cedric over VVD.

Might as well hold Jesus until just before deadline so you can listen to Pep's presser and maybe get a price rise.

Yeah I've already made .1 so looking to get the second rise before Saturday. If Pep mentions that Agüero is in contention, I'm binning before the deadline

It looks like Hegazi is going to drop tonight. If I move now I can do:

Hegazi+Atsu->Otamendi+Stephens(or other 4.5(got Caroll as well)

    Got 2 FT

    Is it worth it?

Not worth it. By going Alonso -> Luiz or something like that you can actually get a decent mid. Even Otamendi to something like Daniels would allow you a lot

The Aguero news has thrown a cat amongst the pigeons.

    4. Ibracadabra
      9 years, 21 days ago

Wait until Pep press conference. Scored 2 for Brazil, should start, could always switch to Morata/Lacazette/Vardy if Aguero returns early from rib problem which he looks on course to do.

    3. Ajax Hamsterdam

i would say if you feel confident you have a good bench for a gameweek use it, i prefer treble captain for dgw

      1. Team Cruel
        • Fantasy Football Scout Member

There are at least two DGWs every season.

        1. mental fortitude
          9 years, 21 days ago

That's exactly my thinking. There are 2 or 3 double game weeks normally after January. This leaves the 1) Wilcard 2) Freehit 3) Triple Captain for each of those. We cannot use two chips at once, so Bench Boost is surely best used when it looks productive and is probably not a good double gameweek option.
