Pep sunk his teeth into our Gameweeks, while an old moggy took a chunk out of my partner’s arm, depriving me of my appearance on this week’s ScoutCast. I’m not sure which was more painful.

At the mercy of the local A&E, Jonty, Andy and Az became my other emergency service as they stepped up on this latest episode.

Inevitably, Guardiola’s Man City teamsheet dominates your questions and the ensuing chatter. Elsewhere the boys re-appraise Kane after his Wembley haul, revisit Liverpool with their fixtures about to swing and consider whether the heavy-hitting midfielders are poised for a renaissance ahead of Gameweek 10.

As far as I know, I’ve edited out all the “pussy” jokes.

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday night. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

If you’re a traditional type, you can acquire the mp3 audio version via this link on the first player below, or take in the full visual experience via the second player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Too many midfielders to choose from 🙁

I have Hazard and Sterling, which means I can't fit in Salah and Richarlison. Neither worth a hit I don't think? Could backfire badly.

Salah is worth a hit simply because he's leading a lot of polls, could be brutal if he finally stops wasting chances.

RP from yesterday just trying to gather as much feedback and advice as I can regarding my WC team for GW 10 any will be great:

    Pope
    Jones Mee Otamendi
    Eriksen Salah (VC) Sane Stanislas
    Aguero (C) Kane Okazaki

    Subs: Elliot,Dunk, Carroll & Rangel

    1. Concrete

I'd go Silva on a WC instead of Sane

      Are Stan and Okazaki punts?

I have had Silva in my WC for few GW's he is nailed but will he score more points than Sane my head says no at the minute

Okazaki isn't wanted him for a while in my squad but Stan the Man very much is

Fair do's, just unsure on Sane minutes although he is explosive!

It's a decent team, has a nice balance

Yeah I know his minutes do worry me a little but think he will play this GW will rotate him out for Mkhitaryan in a couple of GW a time thanks for your input Concrete appreciate it.

Don't like sane, Stanislas, or Okazaki.

Everything else looks good. D Silva, Richarlison and Tammy

Stanislas made BOU look a proper threat last GW Vs Stoke hes a nice differential this GW Okazakiwas rested too I have considered downgrading Sane to Mkhitaryan 0.3 cheaper and the fixtures change soon worth it?

    3. Eze Really?
      • 11 Years
      8 years, 5 months ago

      I like the side but:
Jones always injury concern and Otamendi will start to get rests when Kompany returns. Therefore is Dunk Enough cover.
Stanislas a nice choice but remember King and Defoe return.
New manager and Okazaki a slight risk.
Sane gametime now Jesus can play wide with Kun.
Bottom line you need a better bench.
Having said that, not all I said can go wrong in the same week surely!?

You make a few good points like most of the list you mentioned above will be rotated out for others as the GW's to by thier not season keepers for me i know but some are worth a little risk at the moment food for thought though cheers mate

Who is playing their free hit this week and why?

Want to see what the logic is

    1. TheTinman
      • 10 Years
      8 years, 5 months ago

Majority of good players are going to use it late in the season when there are blanks or doubles. That's all the logic you need to know

      1. Fantasy Gold

Logic requires a balanced outlook, considering all variables and outcomes.

        Not what you just said.

    2. Galza
      • 8 Years
      8 years, 5 months ago

Could be a nice week to use it imo...
These depleted weeks people are waiting for a likely to contain lesser sides with not much appeal.
Pool, Arsenal and City(if you choose wisely) could reap the rewards...

      1. Pep says
        • 10 Years
        8 years, 5 months ago

I still the blank GW will be useful. Could be the situation where you have only 1 or 2 of the players with a game that week and I won't need to worry about tryna make 7 or 8 transfers specifically targeted at the blank GW, I'll just use the free hit chip, get in whoever has the most potential and field 11 players

Thats a guaranteed 20 points at least, get lucky and it could be an increase of 40 or 50.

Just my opinion, I know there is a million ways it could play out but I'm holding it until I know what's coming..

        1. Galza
          • 8 Years
          8 years, 5 months ago

          Fair point..
I did mine in GW8 and caught City v Stoke.
          FH team = 69 pts
          My team = 27 pts
          That’s a 42 point mark up..
I consider it as a success however will be interesting to see if I regret it...

          1. Pep says
            • 10 Years
            8 years, 5 months ago

No chance you'll regret it, 42 pts is huge, we'll done.

              Cheers..
              The boost I needed..
My actual team came back in and got me 69 pts GW9 as well..
Couldn’t have gone any better to be fair...

The ceiling on last years blank week for example, isn't high enough to warrant FH IMO.

I fear for my team this week, if I play it, I'd expect 75+, my current team I expect 15-40 points

Considering it intently through low likelyhood of playing, plus fixtures resulting in blanks.

At risk of not playing: Aguero, Kane, Sterling, Bavies, Martina, Jones, Mbemba, RLC so....8/15

At risk of huge blanks: Kane, Lukaku, Bavies, Jones.

The big question I'm asking myself to legislate the chip is...what will be different next GW?

    4. Pep says
      • 10 Years
      8 years, 5 months ago

It's definetly a good week to use it (if your team is similar to mine which I think many are), there is no denying that.

I've used 2 ft's this week so if I use it, I'll be 2 transfers behind and that's 8pts in hits so I feel it can serve me better at another point in the season. Not sure when, just not this week. (for me!)

      1. Eden ACCOUNT CLOSED
        • 10 Years

Yes, I agree with the transfer element, I would still probably do the same transfers as this week, next. Price rises could cause havoc, you having 2FTs makes it a waste

Most interesting captain week in a while, as shown by the captain poll.

Kane - Bad fixture and possibly might not start (?)
    Lukaku - Bad fixture
Man city assests - Good option but always threat of rotation
Liverpool - Salah tops the poll and looks like a good choice while the others are not close to reliable enough.
Sanchez/Lacazette - Fortune favours the bold. Would go with one of these two if I had them.
    Hazard - See above.

    Week for differentials??

Yea I saw highlights of his huge fail versus Swansea. 1 big chance if memory serves, the rest were shots outside the box.

I have no arsenal or Liverpool... so I am thinking about Richarlison. Crazy?

Thinking about putting the armband on Richarlison. Kane and Lukaku play eachother and it could end either way. Jesus is not guaranteed to play.

    So Richarlison? Is that crazy?

Not crazy - good week to stray away from Kane/Kaku. Salah maybe safer if you have him but I do like the Richarlison punt.

Cheers! If I had a pool or arsenal player I would have gone for one of them... but I don´t. So Richarlison FTW! 🙂

Doping Bavies and Sterling to Burnley defender and Salah..

Any reasons for going with Ward over Mee? Would like to save 0.2..

Ward getting the bonus points... getting 9 or 8 instead of 6 for a cs

Jesus cappo is a risk imo and some say RLC will be benched again but GTG apart from that.

Cant see Swansea scoring and do see Arsenal scoring so thats why Loftus ahead of the swansea boys.

Jesus played less minutes midweek than Aguero so I expect him to start...

But you are right Salah is the more cautious choice... Might change to him to be sure of a captain starter.

Would you play Carroll or naughton ahead of loftus?

No, I'd play RLC still and hope for the best.

Personally, I think the minutes played last game for Man City don't mean as much as people think. Jesus is needed more midweek, Aguero is better for parked buses (WBA) imo.

Long term, selling Davies is wise at this point imo. Naughton still has some nice fixtures ahead and is nailed.

I really want Salah and/or Richarlison in my team. But don`t know how?

    Elliot
    Kolasinac - Davies - Jones - Otamendi
    Ritchie - D.Silva - Ramsey
    Kane - Lukaku - Jesus

    Foster - RLC - Tarroll - Hunmeier
    2FT 0.0ITB

    a> Foster + Ritchie -> Speroni + Richarlison
    b> Davies + Ritchie -> Mee + Richarlison this week and Kolasinac + Ramsey -> Salah + Daniels next week (-4) .
    c> Lukaku + Ritchie -> Firmino + Salah
    d> Other

Leaning towards B. Means Kane or Jesus C this weekend.

Even if Sturridge plays, Firmino doesnt seem possible to get rotated so far. Could play Sturridge upfront with Firmino in the flank and Coutinho behind the 3 uptop players. I believe he ll start delivering again, Salah will be the heaviest threat so more space for the rest attackers.
