Pep sunk his teeth into our Gameweeks, while an old moggy took a chunk out of my partner’s arm, depriving me of my appearance on this week’s ScoutCast. I’m not sure which was more painful.

At the mercy of the local A&E, Jonty, Andy and Az became my other emergency service as they stepped up on this latest episode.

Inevitably, Guardiola’s Man City teamsheet dominates your questions and the ensuing chatter. Elsewhere the boys re-appraise Kane after his Wembley haul, revisit Liverpool with their fixtures about to swing and consider whether the heavy-hitting midfielders are poised for a renaissance ahead of Gameweek 10.

As far as I know, I’ve edited out all the “pussy” jokes.

    Was going to do Sterling>Sane but possible both could start. Have Jesus as well.

      I like it, one upgrade, one sideways move or even an upgrade given current form. Go for it, obviously you know hazard could sting but most players we take out at that pricepoint could and salah looks on paper the better option over the next 4 at the very least.

            Did my WC 2 weeks ago. Sold Salah to get Hazard and Vardy instead of cheaper forward and Sane. Fixing my coin flip mistakes

      Hits the target less than 20% of the time. PB touches at home 4 vs 48 away. Shots 10 vs 22 on target 0 vs 6

        You make good points here but following the herd with Salah isn’t for me. Potter’s defense has been horrid as of late admittedly and Watford offense has been great. No other standout options in my front 7 amongst Aguero, Kane, Eriksen, Vardy, Gross, and Salah. Vardy against a managerless Everton squad perhaps?

        I think these home vs. away stats are in need some some serious context, and they were sort of debunked on the Scoutcast.

        1st home match (LIV): Signed three days before the match; barely speaks a word of English; plays only 41 minutes (and looked threatening).

        2nd home match (BHA): Watford go a man down 23 minutes in and play for the 0-0 tie the rest of the way.

        3rd home match (MCI): 6-0 loss; barely see the ball (against the best side in the league); yet still has 4 of the team's 9 touches in the box.

        4th home match (ARS): 9 touches in the box; 3 shots; 2 on target; 1 assist.

        This is not my actual team but I think that I am slowly building towards this. $8m city mids are less frustrating when rotated compared to Jesus/Aguero, Cout can become Alli/Eriksen depending on form and fixtures. And Morata can become Lukaku

          I like it a lot, as Morata can flip to Lukaku or Aguero/Jesus if needed. I’d have 2 City mids max, not 3.

                Yeah ... but in that system you only have 2 premium forward while you can count on 5 mids. $8m is still "easier" to accept compared to the $10.5m-$11.5m forwards that could be benched

                    Money is tight unfortunately. Alli or Eriksen would come for Coutinho, or for one of the city mids if I downgrade Morata to Vardy/Firmino but I don't rate them as a second striker

          The Stoke game was ridiculous outlier. 2 full backs playing in a back 3. Take that away look at rest of stats and they're quite ordinary. Batman had 4v shots to his 1 last week in half the minutes

      Ive been tinkering with something very similar - so I like it.

      My only hesitation is around rest rotation of both Sane and Sterling. One option would be to downgrade one of them to eg Zaha and then upgrade a defender to Otamendi

          I couldn't say for sure - but it would be a constant risk. Personally I'm comfortable with having either one of them, but unsure about having both.

              Yep. Realistically, there probably aren't going to be too many instances when neither play - so your line-up could do really well. But I think that Otamendi looks very good value too. He has less up-side obviously, but also has less risk. Comes down to personal preference I guess. Good luck whatever way you go.

        C) would give me a top-heavy midfield of Sanchez, Hazard, Salah, Richarlison and Choupo-Moting, as well as Kane and Firmino up front.

        Who knows, maybe Poch will say Kane is out, in which case I might be able to afford Sanchez and Jesus.

      Sterling played loads of minutes mid week but guessing MC line up is impossible
      I think, dont know, RLC will start. Only him and Zaha real attackers in that team.
