In our continued quest to mirror the Fantasy Football season, this latest ScoutCast episode is missing a key player, but shuffles the pack and brings on stars from the bench.

Quivering from the midweek rotation, Jonty and Az begin proceedings before Granville is introduced to add his experience to the line-up. Then, late on, Andy arrives to shore things up and see the team through the final testing period. Me? I’m ruled out and left to watch from the stands.

The ever-changing line-up does a fine job contending with another round of community questions, as they assess the midfield template and consider goalkeeper recruits in the light of Rafa’s tinkerings. Then Granville rolls back to a classic ScoutCast question, lambasting United fan Andy for celebrating a City goal to ask which comes first, your football team or your Fantasy team?

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel earlier on Thursday. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

If you’re a traditional type, you can acquire the mp3 audio version via this link on the first player below, or take in the full visual experience via the second player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Just did Jones > Christensen before the price rise... Team looking good? 1.3 ITB earmarked for Zaha > Pogba after Zaha's 2x home games in GW16/17, hoping Pogba stays quiet for next 2 games (Ars, City) on negative NTI until then & no price rise

    DDG
    Christensen, Mee, Daniels
    Salah, Hazard, GroB, Richarlison, Zaha
    Kane, Morata
    (Elliott, Niasse, Moreno, Dunk)

gotcha, i get it...i may also be tempted by shaqiri and upping a defender to otamendi...

just playing devil's advocate, zaha deserves a shout

Zaha seems to be a home bird, and with those 2x home games looming didn't want to sell just in case he did haul... but Pogba looks like Jose's new version of Frank Lampard now, looks too good to be true at 8.0 so would like him instead of Zaha eventually

Yep... trying to steer clear of City, each of them seem to only score points once every 3 or 4 games, the rotation is disgusting, and then when they actually play they also rotate who scores points

Nice team. All season and before the season started I have been waiting to bring in an Arsenal player and Ramsey was my preference closely followed by Kolasinac, I think I'm getting close to doing it. Pogba makes sense with their fixtures after the next 2. Good plan either way

I can see hazard coming off early if they go up by a couple of goals though as will likely need to start champs league too

Beat the KneeJerkers XI: We have a champion!

GW14 saw our two finalists, Ricky Bean and Gwion Daffyd, go head-to-head for a second gameweek. With about 30 minutes to go, Ricky was in deep trouble, trailing behind both Gwion and the Kneejerkers. But his captain Salah came on for a late 13 point cameo and pulled Ricky to safety. It all looked like another round would be necessary until Sterling scored for the Kneejerkers deep into extra time and poor Gwion’s race was run.

    https://fantasy.premierleague.com/a/team/4112369/event/14
    https://fantasy.premierleague.com/a/leagues/standings/907919/classic

Congratulations to Ricky Bean and his team “KFC Wimbledon” for outscoring the eleven most-transferred-in players of each GW for thirteen consecutive rounds and thereby outlasting all other 326 competition entries.

This post concludes this season’s Kneejerkers competition – although I may be back later in the season with another short tournament. Thanks for taking part and I hope you all enjoyed it.

I'll be capping LMS to something like 2000 next season if I run it as the admin part takes enough time especially in the 1st half of the season.

Last year's winner revealed not owning a Liverpool mid last season was one of his secrets to success due to points spread across the whole team (Mané, Cout, Salah, Lallana, Firmino)

Are we about to see something similar with City's goal rate slowing down slightly as teams shut shop against them and when they get a couple of goals, they will back off and not exert themselves by trying to go on and win 5 6 nil.

So my question is, if City's goal rate slows, the points are going to be spread across Jesus, Kun, Sterling, Sané, DeBryune, Silva. Even Bilva and Fernandinho.

After the west ham game, could it be a nice time to drop out City assets and double get a differential in midfield.

Siggy could come good under Allardyce. Maybe on pens after Rooney's miss. Mane or Coutinho alongside Salah for Pools good fixtures. Pogba after the City game. Anyone else? Thoughts?

    1. Abusive_Sgt_Daelrhos
      • 11 Years
      8 years, 4 months ago

I'd stick with one, cheapest best option-Sterling. I doubled up on Liverpool, Salah and Coutinho, think that's differential tbh even tho Ramsey an dPogba aren't bad options either. Still, I wouldn't go without city option, at least one.

I think Sterling is still good value, and potentially Sanè also. But the strikers at the minute are a train wreck. That being said, an injury to either striker would instantly make the other a great option imo.

Overall I've gone 3-5-2 with zero City, I think Haz, Salah, Groß, Richarlison are better options than the city mids at the minute. Fifth mid slot is currently Zaha but earmarked for Pogba, really can't be bothered with the city rotation

    4. FFSbet.com
      • 10 Years

I went that way, never got in Sterling/Sane and had Silva some time.
Now few weeks without City mids/forwards and plan to do it till end.
I think they will soon start to struggle but just guessing.

    5. La Gazzetta
      • 8 Years
      8 years, 4 months ago

I think last year that was acceptable because Mane had AFCON, Coutinho and Lallana picked up injuries and Firmino is Firmino. Sane and Stirling are pretty durable so their growth in ownership looks like its only stopped because some people are bringing them in and out whenever they aren't in the points for whatever reason. In summary I think they are still good value for money but maybe that's why I'm struggling a bit this year..

    6. Ramboros
      • 14 Years
      8 years, 4 months ago

Liverpool didn't turn bad because of points sharing. They turned bad because of injuries and AFCON. City have a better squad, and some of their players will be even better options if injuries occur.

You don't hear people speculating about too much point sharing at Watford with their 12 goal scorers this season, and their unsustainable rate of 1.7 goals per game. Do we think Watford should be able to score 60+ goals a season?

      1. Pep says

I'm worried that you're spot on the money.

I've been advocating a midfield triple up on City for a while, based on them stomping teams by 4 goals or more every game. This clearly isn't the case anymore and while I think a duo of Sané and Sterling is a very nice spine of a team as long as you captain neither and have adequate bench cover, plenty of standout 'more nailed' players are starting to emerge.

I'll keep my Silva Sterling Sané for West Ham (assuming all 3 are fit), but will then likely move at least Silva on.

Jesus and Agüero have been nogos for a while now.

Sanchez is likely back now and I'd like to own him as the ultimate differential, obviously requiring cash.

It looks like with Luiz out they only have 4 centrebacks for 3 positions anyway - so only one of Christensen, Cahill, Rudiger will ever be benched. If Moses is injured & Azpi plays RWB Christensen is even more likely to play

    Pope - Elliot
    Azpi* - Daniels* - Mustafi - Mee - Mbemba*
    Hazard - Salah - Sterling - Ramsey - Sane*
    Morata - Murray* - Niasse

    0FT, 2.4m ITB

Afternoon all, just wanted some thoughts on the team and the plan. Original plan was to upgrade Ramsey to Coutinho/Mane but the lad is on form and I'm now thinking over the next few weeks

Sane > Mane (after West Ham)
Azpi and Murray > Christensen and Vardy

I'll then be able to do Daniels and Mbemba at a later date, most likely to Kiko and Duffy if prices hold, if not I'll go for Kiko and 1 other.

Thoughts? Or should I pull a trigger on any of those moves this week? But it will be for a -4 hit if I do

My ML rival who is usually very poor is ranked inside the top 10k and brought him in last gw. Inspired move considering their form. Now with BFS there he could become a good option. Still a wait and see for me though

If Jose says Jones is back in contention I’d much prefer him to Moreno. By a distance. Great value

Agreed, I feel I have come this far with him and held it would be juts my luck to ship bow to see him play, keep a clean sheet, get an assist and 3 BPS

Would be much easier to read with a spacebar. I would go with A but maybe just Stirling this week and Kola next week if you can afford the likely rise by Kola. Unless you fancy Arsenal to keep a clean sheet against United

Well Bavies is a priority. Just boot him for Azpi or a BUR/BHA d.

If you downgraded Bavies to someone cheaper who plays regularly (Tarkowski?) would you then be able to upgrade Tarroll to Hazard?

    Play Mee or Kiko?

    Courtois

If you're losing Firmino I would downgrade him to Calvert lewin and upgrade Jesus to Kane and leave Sane. I think Sane still a better option than KDB. I can see Calvert Lewin starting from the bench this week in case you need him to start though.

Change your grav rating to "G"
      He played them all.
Chelsea had no Europe and the season was less congested to this season.

From memory he played all the games over X-mas but he joined the season a bit late which may have helped. He only started to get rested (taken off after 60 mins) towards the end of season when they were so far in front in the league and had FA cup which became a priority. They also had no championsleague last year so hard to compare anyway

As we saw the last match apz and hazard was rested. Think he might give Morata and a alonso a rest this time round. Much congested fixtures this season. It will be logical.

I'm thinking of bringing Kola in next week. Think hes a good player to own at the moment. Man Utd may change that this weekend. If you want chelsea might be worth taking the risk on Christensen if you can upgrade someone else with that money you have ITB

Upper/mid table in my league, thinking this could be a good week for a free hit to get me up.

Thoughts on potential free hit team?

    Hennessey
    Moreno Alonso Otamendi

    Morata Aguero Rooney
