The first of two Sunday fixtures gets underway at 1.30pm as Bournemouth and Southampton go head-to-head in the south coast derby.

Eddie Howe’s side seek a fourth clean sheet in five attempts, having kept out Newcastle, Huddersfield and Swansea in recent weeks.

That upturn in resilience bodes well for Fantasy Premier League owners of Charlie Daniels, who is the most owned player (13%) on show from today’s early kick-off.

Handed a place in our Gameweek 15 Scout Picks, the left-back was acquired by almost 40,000 new owners for this weekend. Five of his last seven league goals have been scored at the Vitality Stadium.

Up top, Callum Wilson is denied a fifth straight start, however, dropping to the bench as Howe shuffles his options and calls upon Jermain Defoe to lead the line.

For the Saints, Charlie Austin returns to the visitors’ XI after netting twice in his first start under Mauricio Pellegrino in last Sunday’s 4-1 win over Everton.

Utilised as a sub away to Man City in midweek, Austin’s upcoming schedule suggests he faces a tough task to play a part in our festive plans.

The Saints are braced for a testing winter period, with clashes against Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs and Man United in the next six rounds of fixtures.

And the same can be said for their hosts. After next weekend’s trip to Crystal Palace, Bournemouth square up against Man United, Liverpool and Man City in successive Gameweeks.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

    On video replays ...

This is always the incident I think back to ...

    https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=SNTHV_cJkRw

Inter v Juve 1998, it was basically a title decider. A brilliant game where it was so end to end, the linesmen actually came onto the field at times cause the ref couldn't keep up

In this incident, Ronaldo was fouled for a stonewall penalty that was refused. Juve immediately went up the other end and Zidane played in Del Piero who was then fouled for another penalty, which was then awarded (and missed).

This all took place in about 15 seconds without the ball going out of play.

I always wonder how this would go with video replay.

Would they stop Juve counter attack, then, what if its not a penalty?

Or do they allow it until the attack is done, then call it back for an inter penalty?

What if Juve score on the break, do they wipe the goal out, then give an inter penalty?

In this situation, they would have had to give a Juve penalty, then review it, take that away, and give Inter one instead.

It'll just get daft in my view

    1. Pierce34
      • 10 Years
      8 years, 4 months ago

I think there are more wrong decisions than incidents like these, so video replays would be merited. Most of the time players spend enough time complaining about contentious decisions that the play won't really be interrupted.

      1. Sánchez
        • 13 Years
        8 years, 4 months ago

Aye but, as was here, that was after the decision was awarded, the first penalty didn't allow for that

        1. Pierce34
          • 10 Years
          8 years, 4 months ago

I think you have to ask what's more important - to get a penalty decision correct, or to allow a counter-attack to happen? Most of the time counter-attacks don't really amount to anything. I agree that it's not the ideal solution in the scenario you mention, but it's the lesser of two evils in my opinion. In other words, missing out on a counter-attack is a smaller price to pay.

          1. Pierce34
            • 10 Years
            8 years, 4 months ago

Although of course there has to be some kind of line being drawn so that we don't get video replays for every single tiny contact in the box. Not sure how that would be implemented.
