We ease our way out of Saturday’s action with a head-to-head at St James’ Park involving two sides who offer limited Fantasy interest.

Newcastle United host Leicester City with Jamie Vardy the top owned asset on show.

The striker has just a goal and an assist from his last five Gameweek but remains part of 16.9% of Fantasy Premier League squads. His ownership increased by 169,000 over the past two Gameweeks with some 83,000 swooping for Vardy ahead of this match.

Harry Maguire is next in line and is included in 8.8% of squads – he will bid to guide the Foxes to their fifth clean sheet of the season, having gained a first shut-out in the last five Gameweeks last time out against Burnley.

As for Newcastle, their most popular Fantasy assets both miss out. Rob Elliot (25%) once again plays understudy to Karl Darlow in goal, while Chancel Mbemba (11.4%) is out of the matchday squad. Jamaal Lascelles (6.1%) is fit and returns among the substitutes.

    got 2 FT but dont know what to do. Any suggestions ?. Happy with my big hitters, but could be happy changing a goalie, daniels, wilson or gross maybe. but dont see many good alternatives atm.

    Anyone is noticing that Vardy is barely receiving any passes or potential assists from his team mates? I’m seeing him rather isolated.
    I also think that Vardy’s such an upfront position is not suited anymore from after last season.

    This feels funny! I benched Ward's 8pts this week purely because I have Pope who I had to play, because my other goalie is Elliot (would have played Pope even though Elliot was nailed).

    Instead of Ward I played Duffy, who got 1 point. But here's the catch, if I didn't have Pope and played some other goalie, then I would never ever have benched Ward over Duffy... Is there a lesson to be learned here? I had Pope so I wanted to mitigate the risk and bench Ward, just in case.... But shouldn't one just try to hit the jackpot, so to speak, instead of playing it safe... Shouldn't one always think of which goalie to play and which defs to play as separate decisions which have nothing to do with each other?

      Spreading the risk wasn't a bad move, tbf. A CS at Huddersfield shouldn't have been beyond the realms of possibility for Brighton's defence.

        No, but as I said I would have never ever played Duffy instead of Ward if I didn't have Pope... I'm arguing here that "spreading the risk" is not a good thing to do, you should just play whoever you think is more likely to get points, and not be afraid of a double defense getting blown... In the long run, you will get more points by not spreading the risk!

      You put yourself in a position where you only have something to complain about if you take points. You have to accept that didn't put all your money on one winning hand. Huddersfield are way worse offensively than Watford, but Watford got an unpredictable red card.
