The curtain falls on Gameweek 18 under the lights of Goodison Park, as a rejuvenated Everton take on an ailing Swansea City.

In Fantasy terms, the focus is quite definitely on the home side and, in particular, their two strikers.

Against the odds, Wayne Rooney is currently revived as a Fantasy option. Perhaps benefitting from the malaise suffered by the premium-priced forward options, Rooney’s 7.5 price tag has attracted over 271,000 new owners ahead of Saturday’s deadline.

Rooney goes into tonight’s contest on the back of five goals and an assist from his last four Gameweeks – all from a No 10 role behind lone striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

The 20-year-old is also a factor in tonight’s match. Backed by over 80,000 new owners and now in 560,000 squads, Calvert-Lewin will bid to further his CV as our third striker “enabler”. He boasts three assists and a goal from his last five Gameweek starts.

But with three clean sheets from their last four Gameweeks, the Toffees defence also demands attention.

In particular, both goalkeeper Jordan Pickford and right-back Jonjoe Kenny will be auditioning for further transfer attention tonight. They were signed by 21,000+ and 62000+ ahead of Swansea’s visit in anticipation of yet another shut-out.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

He got early sub last week, but I guess it was tactical with Watford down to 10 men.

How does this look for a front 8..?

    Hazard | Richarlison | Sterling | Pogba | Salah

    Could possibly shift Kane + Richarlison > Rooney/Morata + KDB/Son

It is an aggressive play. Could reward, or backfire with four points on top of it. I’m in the same boat. Feels imprudent, yet is tempting. I already have two pool mids, so am less inclined to buy Firmino.

managed to sell him before his assist and subsequent 14 pointer, was considering getting him back this week, but he was miles away from price rise, then saw he was at 96.8% at 01.10am but assumed he would hold, oh well, maybe Pogba instead if I'm priced out

Ye well. I will either (C) Sterling or Kane that is for sure 😉 Playing 2 Pool players away to Gunners is enough. Owning Haz is enough next GW, and though I would like to have the balls to (C) Zaha vs. the 'slow-mo-swans' or Richarlison away against Seagulls without Duffy I probably won't.

True. I probably should keep the armband on Coutinho but Wilshere has a bit of steel about him, and even Wenger is showing signs of benching Ozil when he needs more presence in midfield.

I can only see Liverpool scoring 2, so am hesitant.

I think so. I have 2 Man City which is stressful enough without sticking an armband on one.

I feel Aguero is starting to look better but minutes a concern.

Yep, even if you do win Pep' roulette and your City player starts, there's still at least 5 players that can grab the points + subs

Unless the league cup changes my mind I doubt i'll captain a City

I'll randomise between Sterling, Hazard, Salah, Lukaku and Firmino if I get him.

      Arsenal fan - play.

Not just our defence that's the issue - Pool could swamp us in midfield and create loads and we have no consistency in our tactics or lineup of late.

    A) Ended up with both Rooney & DCL , is it good or should trade DCL for deposited or quaner

    B) best 5m or less GK base on form & fixtures?? Thinking of lossl or Pickford???

      A) Just stick with DCL. I think he's more nailed than Quaner and he'll contribute more than Depoitre (if that's who you mean). If anything look to upgrade Rooney to Firmino if you don't have him.

      b) Adrian or Lössl

Ward to 4.5 or so. Who do I get?

Have Ogbonna & Dann, not interested in Kenny or Robertson (both might lose their place in a few weeks), don't want Stoke, Watford, Brighton or Huddersfield.

    Any ideas? Thanks!

I favour Zanka too just because of their favourable fixtures, nailed on and already has a couple of assists.

I guess all you've got left on the table at that price is Masuaku, Hegazi, maybe even Lascelles, all of whom have a mixed bag of fixtures.

Probably not worth taking a hit to replace Daniels so I don't have to field Mee vs TOT this GW, right?

Nah, there's a fair chance Mee could even keep a clean sheet.

Thoughts on Masuaku due to the scoutcast discussing which West Ham defender to get:

I know team sheets, twitter updates, team news on ffs and more display Masuaku as a LWB and Zabaleta as the RWB. However I do think this is misleading. From what I've seen Masuaku looks more like Left mid in a front 4 of: Arnautovic - Lanzini - Masuaku; Antonio whenever West Ham got the ball. Zabaleta does not play nearly as offensive. In fact I would dare to argue, that Masuaku just got a lot of defensive duties, and West Ham plays in a back 4 of: Zabaleta, Reid, Ogbonna and Cresswell. When Zabaleta does the runs as a RWB Reid pushes a bit to the right. Otherwise I think West Ham line up in a 4-2-3-1 where he left wing (Masuaku just defend a lot).

Have I simply not watched enough of West Ham or do yu get the point, that Masuaku actually seems to be a midfielder priced at 4.4?

Furthermore, I would just point out that I think Masuaku (or mousakka as Jonty calls him) has been GREAT, and it is his spot to lose. Surely he could be rested, but with Arnautovic knock Lanzini might getting a ban and so forth I simply can't see Masuaku being benched.

He’s played as centre back in a back 3, LB, LWB and left wing this season. He’s a decent player.

Agreed. The thing is that a player who runs that much is much more likely to get rotated with the likes of Ayew. His attacking potensial is still making him a good option though
