Our Fantasy Football Scout Cup contests are edging closer to their nailbiting conclusion with just 32 teams remaining in both.

In the fifth round of the open to all Fantasy Football Scout Cup three of our four remaining previous winners Mark, Ninja Fit Saints and Gribude made it through the next stage. However, Sleepysi misses out on the chance to become the first manager to win the cup twice, with his score of 88 not enough to overcome David Slade’s impressive 102 point haul.

Mark, who is placed at 19,657 in the overall standings, notched the same score as Sleepysi, but in his case it proved to be more than enough to earn a giant killing victory over 1,307 ranked FPL Poker Player’s Kane-less side. This former winner faces another highly placed manager in the next round when he squares up to 3,427 ranked ezdmanx.

Ninja Fit Saints also has a tough tie, as he has been matched against POLSTER, who is ranked more than 152,000 places above him. In contrast Gribude is just 3,656 places behind his round sixth opponent Hamadahoda007.

The Scoutcast’s Az marches on and takes his 1,293 ranked team into a sixth round tie with 7,778 placed You, Me and Firmino.

Meanwhile, former FPL winner Tom Fenley also makes it through and earns an encounter with Icepickle, who is ranked just 1,120 places above him.

The competition’s only two remaining top 1,000 placed managers United Come On (ranked 943) and FFScout Members league leader Elvarus (ranked 115) have drawn each other in a heavyweight round six encounter.

The results from the Fantasy Football Scout fifth round can be found here, while the draw for the sixth round – played out over Gameweek 21 – is here.

In the Members Cup the last remaining FFScout staffer, Mark, was seen off by John Nerdelbaum, who hopes to claim kwapsy as his next scalp in round five.

This contest’s only remaining top 2,000 ranked manager Fozilla28 (1,740th) will now clash with 36,088 placed Cheeseoid, while the encounter between Gnu and Spike looks even tougher to call, with the former just 7,102 places above his fellow FFS community veteran.

You can view the full results from the fourth round of Members Cup can be found here, while the draw for the fifth round – also played out over Gameweek 21 – is here.

Due to the tightly congested fixture list both cup contests will be taking a break during Gameweek 22 and will resume in Gameweek 23.

To labour a point...So on the free hit for GW22 to counter act rotation and get six DGW players (that in itself is a problem with only two days apart)

If Jesus plays this week then Aguero nails a start two days later..
If Coutinho doesn't start then he nails a place two days later...
If Lingard starts then rested two days later...

Salah, Sterling, Lacazette, Jones....blah, blah, blah...

It's a gamble but some teams could look really very thin for GW22 whilst the smart money has 6 DGWers and a nailed Aguero or Coutinho and co...A full squad of players with 6 DGWers and nailed starters whilst crucially those around us have benched players...That at least has to be worth a coat of thinking of...

(appreciate their are other weeks to play it but this may be as good as any in lieu of the TC being risky now)

Interesting angle... if some heavy hitters are rested this weekend, it might be worth (and safe!) investing the Free Hit.

Aye. I'm not saying it's the only time to play it but with just two days between GW21 and GW22 then a lot of players are in for a rest...and some good picks...So whilst most will concentrate on bringing in DGW players for Spurs and WHM they could end up with the likes of Firmino and Sterling planted on the bench....I can Guarantee you that their will be wholesale changes in the prem from GW21 > GW22...

Scrambling later in the season with rubbish players in blank GWs will be worse.

This. Imagine a week where Liverpool and City both have a blank.

That can come down to ML's if that's a priority. My brother has made such a f up of City picks that he's thrown in the towel on them (I bet he's not the only one)...I agree for OR though...

I decided to go with FH in gw22 few weeks ago
I still think its better to use it now then in some blank gw
      We will see
All you wrote here were my decision points too

I'd have gone TC for certain without a risk to Kane but FH looks just as promising now and save TC for later...In effect GW22 may well be looked on as a BGW for a lot of rotation players...it's too close to GW21....

Why is everyone convinced Son will play both games in the DGW?

He won't....60 mins and 30 mins imo with Lamela taking up the slack...

Lloris/Vertonghen...Eriksen/Alli...Kane.....those are the choices to max minutes...

I've seen quite a few posts questioning his minutes.
But the others aren't immune either.

It is strange, people are often overly optimistic. Someone was doubling up on West Ham’s defence as well!

I haven't seen anyone claim that Son will play 2x90 minutes.

The previous two times Tottenham played two games in two days, Pochettino started with 2 out of 3 offensive midfielders in both games. In 2014/15 Chadli and Eriksen started both games. In 2015/16 Alli and Lamela started both games. Lamela and Eriksen were the benched players, so there's no consistency in who's nailed on to play both games.
