We end New Year’s Day at Goodison Park where Everton host Manchester United.

Fantasy managers have plenty of interest in the events that will unfold, with United’s assets sill clinging to significant ownership.

Since the decline of Romelu Lukaku, David De Gea is by far their most popular asset as part of 42.5% of squads. The Spaniard claimed just his second clean sheet in eight Gameweeks in the 0-0 draw with Southampton last time out. Phil Jones – owned by 13.4% – also played his part in that stalemate and features again on Merseyside – his sixth successive starting role.

Elsewhere, Jose Mourinho is forced into changes with the aforementioned Lukaku sidelined with a head injury. It’s Anthony Martial rather than Marcus Rashford who leads the United attack, with Jesse Lingard likely to be retained in a No 10 role. Significantly, Paul Pogba could be given more attacking freedom with Ander Herrera selected alongside Nemanja Matic in midfield.

Sam Allardyce also tweaks his Everton line-up, as recent Fantasy enablers Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Jonjoe Kenny are rested to the bench, along with Gylfi Sigurdsson. Wayne Rooney is in the XI, however, with the veteran having supplied five goals and three assists in his last five Gameweek starts.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Rooney playing in defence. Terrible transfer for me he's been. Can only hope for a penalty.

He doesn't look interested at all in getting involved in Everton's attacks. He's just so deep.

Have Schindler, Coutinho, Depoitre. Long-term would you rather have:

    A) Alonso, Coutinho, Depoitre

    B) Schindler, D.Silva, Firmino

Lukaku would have excelled under Fergie but not as long as Jose falls out with the likes of Mhiki who was instrumental at the start.

              Different era.
Don’t get me wrong I loved watching Utd under Ferguson, the greatest ever in my opinion.

What I’m saying is that the job he is asked to do, by Jose, he does very well.

Jose teams are never set up to be expansive, attacking minded.

So if Salah was 50/50 this week, you would have benched him?

He was 50/50 and I sold him for Eriksen.

But if I hadn’t, I’d have the option of playing Salah (who may score big), or getting half of Richarlison’s points. I’d probably have played Salah because he has more potential than Richarlison. If Richarlison hauls and gets 10 points, I’d get 5 of them and I’d accept that because I chose to bench him.

Do we think the FPL towers will review the prices for next year?

With the ongoing rotation across most teams it is quite a challenge to make sure you have a full playing 15 and also having some quality picks in amongst that. (in my option there are too many defenders overpriced this year)

Obviously the game still needs to be hard or we would all have superstars but players like pionts not praying for 11 starters every gameweek. People will lose patience and they will lose players as a result!!

Would love to hear your thoughts....

I thought they reviewed them every year.

The recent rotation is exceptional due to the compressed nature of the season because of the WC. 7 games in December and one today won't happen next season

Think the pricing has proved quite kind tbh.

Tbf defenders weren't too overpriced if you got on them early. Burnley def @4.5, Ota @5.5, although West Brom was very overpriced.

I think that they did a very good job of player pricing this year. Not too many total aberrations.

Prices are fine. Who is overvalued in defence that you would buy otherwise?

Stoke Swansea Watford West Ham with defender stating at 5.0 or more for me is wrong.

Well Naughton would be useless if you'd just pick Mawson. You want the best team pick to be the same as the rest.

Should drop Sanchez price a bit. Increase salah and sterling. The rest about right

I think the pricing was very fair except with mids at or over 10 mil, but nobody could have predicted that.

Prices are fine imo. We have plenty nailed CBs at great prices. If load up on pricey wingbacks that's on you

I think it makes it fun.

Seasons when everything is predictable everybody moans at a lack of variation. Then, when things are harder to judge and rotation hits hard, we complain it isn't more predictable.

        Fair pionts all 🙂

I just feel most of my ML are all struggling to field 11 at this piont. Obviously due to heavy congestion but makes it less fun!
