Gameweek 23 draws to a close at Old Trafford as Manchester United entertain struggling Stoke City.

Up against a defence that’s conceded more goals on the road than any side, the hosts boast three of the top 11 captains in Fantasy Premier League.

Romelu Lukaku (12.1%) remains the favoured attacker among Jose Mourinho’s contingent despite a run of two goals in the last nine Gameweeks.

Yet as evidenced by his goal and assist off the bench against Derby in the FA Cup, an enforced rest due to a head injury seems to have boosted the Belgian’s prospects.

Jesse Lingard and Paul Pogba are also highly fancied, with the former drafted in by a massive 567,000+ FPL managers in time to face the Potters.

Certainly, Lingard is the form player on show tonight, with seven goals and a pair of assists in the last nine Gameweeks. He has, however, recorded points in just one of his last four Premier League matches at home.

Meanwhile, Pogba’s 12-point haul away to Everton last time out – his first double-digit return since Gameweek 12 – hints at a return to form. However, tonight’s teamsheet indicates that the Frenchman will be deployed in a deep-lying role alongside Nemanja Matic, with Ander Herrera dropping to the bench.

Having conceded just five goals at Old Trafford, a ninth home clean sheet looks to be on the cards for David De Gea’s 42% owners tonight.

Up against an attack that have scored just three times in their last five road trips, interest in Phil Jones is on the rise – he was the top transfer target in defence for Gameweek 23, earning over 191,000 new owners.

Mourinho also welcomes back the fit-again Antonio Valencia, who makes his first appearance since Gameweek 18 after recovering from a hamstring problem.

Despite missing the last four matches, he remains the fourth top-scoring defender in FPL thanks to two goals and 11 clean sheets in 18 outings.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Which combo do you prefer?

    A) Pogba + Mahrez
    B) Pogba + Vardy
    C) Lingard + Morata

I know Morata has been utter shite lately. But I think Conte might change to a 3-4-3 formation which requires less creativity for Morata, and he can focus on scoring goals and makint intelligent runs. The doubt about Mahrez future kind of puts me off. Vardy has not been clinical lately.

So I am leaning towards A or C atm. Thoughts?

I think this message is written at least three times a day. And I disagree. I wont settle for mediocre. Rather go all in to win big, with a chance of failing than settle for a medium rank, both overall and in my ML

Again. Same bs as usual. Slow and steady wont win you shit. There is the nr. 1 spot OR and in the ML. It all depends on how much your lacking behind. If you follow the stream in all decisions, when not being in the top, you will be bang average at most

no. you gotta play according to the likeliness. there once was a tennis match in vienna: Djokovic vs random 10/1outsider.
You could guess the winner and of all those that won, a lotterly would choose the winner.
I bet on Mr.X and he lost. Of the 1400 who bet on the Djoker, one was a lucky winner.
If the outsider had one, I would have been one of seven, who bet on the other guy.
      See where I am going?
You cant have the same player as the guy in front of you and win, you can only draw, even if the odds are in your opponents favour, you should at least create an oppurtunity for him to fail.

      1. MTPockets
        8 years, 6 months ago

I disagree. Unless it's say GW36 you should let your opponent make the mistake.

But what if your opponent is good a picking the obvious picks? He can literally copy your team each round, if he knows your the better manager, but just got lucky. He wont copy your team.if you pick differentials, as he has other competitors to worry about

          1. MTPockets
            8 years, 6 months ago

Sure but then by definition you're making sub-optimal choices. Those choices may work out through luck, but odds are they won't.

If choosing between the best choice and 2nd best choice then yes go with the best choice, but if you feel two different players have equal points potential you should go with the one different to your league leader if you want to catch him. You've 0% chance of catching your league leader with the same players, by choosing different there's a chance of narrowing and of widening the gap.

Kun could be a nice differential in my ML. Hmmm

B imo coz Kun has been unreliable so far while those two could balance out your team nicely

    Adrian Fab
    Otamendi Christensen Jones Obgonna Wimmer
    Salah Sterling Son Pogba Arnie
    Kane Firmino Ayew

    1FT 0.4 ITB

Best way to get Alonso in this team? I was thinking of doing Pogba, Christensen -> Lingard, Alonso but I'm not sure after today's game. I could save and replace Son the following week, right before his bad fixtures.

I’m going to bring in Callum Wilson this week but should I transfer out Calvert-Lewin (not starting now) or Tammy Abraham (injured currently but still maybe not starting?)

unless price drops an issue, tammy i guess. 1 DCL point is better than 0 if subbed in.

3-3 reverse fixture recently. Wilson 2nd to Kane for SOT recently and scored hat trick against West Ham 2 seasons ago

(RP - more options added to A)

    Pick your favorite pairing option

    A) Pick two out of Sane/Son/Pogba/Mahrez/Vardy
    B) Morata + Lingard

      A - Mahrez and Sane

...and if Mane was an option too? (for A)

Too expensive.. could be an option with lingard but then I would tripple up on pool

Morata against Brighton absolute last chance saloon. Only danger is he scores well and sucks you in for several more dud games

      whats the cahill news?
      I'd say B anyway.
      Just got Wilson.
      Huge threat stats and explosive.
Firm just lost Cout and Christensen is under doublethreat and you will have to lose him soon anyway.
Alonso as well speaks for himself
