Our latest update to the members’ area of the site is now live, introducing a range of new features and fixes.

Referee and Player Discipline Data
First up, our members can now get access to comprehensive data on Premier League referees.

This includes a full table listing some of the statistics you’d expect, like fouls, cards and penalties, though we’ve also gone further and split these by home and away team awards.

We’ve also plotted decisions that have led to shots in a match – either an attempt from a free-kick or penalty – in order to assess those officials more or less likely to award decisions in the attacking third.

Each referee also has a profile page, from which you can get full match-by-match data on performances so you can track their cards and penalty awards by Gameweek.

Added to this, we’ve provided new elements to our player and team discipline tables.

Statistics for fouls won and committed are added for both, along with penalties won and conceded. We’ve also added a view of total yellow cards in the player tables – in addition to just Premier League yellow cards – which acts as an extended Suspension Tightrope.

Used in conjunction with referee assignments for matches, this data can allow us to assess those referees more prone to dish out cards and penalties and the players in those fixtures most likely to be at the centre of their decisions.

New Expected Data
We’ve also extended our expected goal data in this update, offering a new Expected table for goalkeepers.

This includes statistics for Expected Goals On Target Conceded (xGOTC) and Expected Goal Prevented (xGP) enabling us to assess those goalkeepers that face the highest xG value shots on target and who are saving shots that are deemed high-value xG efforts.

This is a clear indication of those goalkeepers who are most likely to benefit from Fantasy Premier League save points and perhaps bonus points through saves made.

A new delta value for Expected Goal Involvement has also been added for outfield players.

Using these statistics, members can assess those players who are under or overperforming in terms of expected goals and assists. The value returned is the difference between their actual goals and assists (Opta not Fantasy) gained and their combined expected goals and assists.

Bonus Points System Widget
The members’ dashboard now has a new BPS widget which plots the top ten performers in the Bonus Points System both overall and by position.

This is displayed for the current Gameweek by default, though the dashboard filter can be used to view specific Gameweeks or the season as a whole.

Bear in mind that our BPS data updates at different intervals to the official Fantasy Premier League BPS. Our player statistics are updated days after the matches are complete, whereas FPL lock their BPS values an hour after the final match on each matchday.

What’s coming next?

Attention is now turning to our HomeCrowd comments system as the main focus, as we look to add new features and tools for both users and moderators.

Mat is currently familiarising himself with the code and then we will start to build up a task list which you’ll be able to track via this roadmap.

That’s not to say that new members features won’t be added soon – a new raft of additions and improvements will be planned for Easter as we build up to the new season.

If you have any requests for those features or any feedback on the members area, you can mail me at mark@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk

    Afternoon chaps,

    My team;

    Pope Elliot
    Jones Masuaka Dunk Gomez Kenny
    Salah Son Sterling Lingard Arnautavic
    Kane Kun Quaner

    1 FT & 1.5 ITB.

I know I need to upgrade defenders / Gk’s just working out the best way in doing so.

Bring in Stones? If so for who out of Dunk / Gomez / Kenny?

Or should I go for Ederson?

    Thank you in advance!

Wow thats unlucky. Arnie is probably the priority and wait for news on Courtois. You could downgrade both Arnie and Courtois for a bit of extra cash for next week if theres anyone you really want (maybe a RLC or DCL upgrade). Your squad is good enough to leave RLC and DCL for this week though IMO

Is is a bad strategy to play a wild card right now?

This is the way I see it: If you use it now you can benefit from it for more gameweeks. If you use it on GW 33 for example, the team will only last for 5 gameweeks and it will probably be optimized just for a DGW instead of for a long term.

    What's up with Arnie?

Moyes says nothing but Arnie put an Instagram story up yesterday saying "Come back stronger #COYI"

He'd hardly do that if he was only missing an FA Cup he would have been rested for anyway, would he?

So Mourinho doesn't mention Lingard as one of his five high quality attacking players. Does that mean anything? Is his spot in danger from Sanchez now or is it just reading too much into Mourinho's words?

Lingard has sort of taken a step back and played more like a central midfielder the last 2 games though. You can't really compare him in that role to Mata and Sanchez.

    5. Numb
      • 11 Years

I think he's classing Lingard as a midfielder, where he's been playing recently, as part of the midfield three. Those others are the options for the front three.

Have exact cash for Kane + Arnautovic -> Aguero + Pogba.

Doubt I will pull the trigger (and never would have considered it were it not for Arnie injury) but the lack of suitable replacements for Arnautovic (Stoke dumpster fire) makes it tempting... that coupled with the news that Jesus won't be back until the second half of February..

Chasing points a bit after an Aguero hat trick, but he did look sharp in the Carabao Cup as well... Even if Kane grabs 2 goals in the next 3, perhaps Aguero could match that at least at a 1m savings and Pogba would likely outscore Stoke players...

I’m contemplating exactly this move for a hit.

Would love to know if Arnie will be back soon. But his injury, and lack of any good options at his price (have nothing in the bank), mean I need to trade up - Kane to aguero frees up the funds.
