Granville created the monster that is the template squad – only for it to turn on him.

That delicious analogy sums up the latest Gameweek for the ScoutCast team, as our mediocre scores were left dwarfed by those who dared to break from the norm to turn to the unlikely differential that was Sergio Aguero.

This latest episode conducts a full post-mortem, as the aforementioned Granville is joined by Jonty, Andy, and Az to contemplate another #Kanexit scenario with the clamour for Man City “nostalgia pick” intensifying.

I miss out with flu. The kind that creates bleary-eyed selfies in Swansea City centre Marriot hotels. But unlike Kane’s notorious Gameweek 22, I fail to make a 17-minute appearance, and instead listen in while the quartet tackle more community questions, creating their own motley crew of characters along the way.

In the midfield chat, Az spits bile in the direction of “JLings”, while Jonty fancies Shaqiri “Ironside” as a poor man’s Hazard. Lukasz “Lidl” Fabianksi turns up in the debate on goalkeepers, while the team are unanimous on the fate of Andreas “The Curse” Christensen.

NB: this ScoutCast was recorded prior to confirmation that Manchester City’s fixture with Arsenal is likely to remain in Gameweek 28. Oh, and Az was off the mark when he said that City play Basel after West Brom, that first leg tie follows the Gameweek 27. Don’t panic Aguero owners. Leave that to the rest of us.

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday evening. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

If Ramsey is fit is there any reason for him not to start?

Wilshere is playing his position atm and has done okay since coming in.
If Arsenal play 4 at the back like they did yesterday I could see both starting. Otherwise one gets left out or Ramsey goes wide

I think he has to play, he's probably their most talented player after Ozil.

      Son+Arnie out
      Mahrez+Ramsey in
      for -4
I would really love it if Ramsey was nailed.

Considering that Everton fans were jeering their own team when they finally managed a shot at the weekend I wouldn't think so. Their attacking stats have been woeful. Not to mention, Walcott's ACL robbed him of his pace which was the main strength of his game.

Can't decide between doucoure and choupo moting as 4th mf. Doucoure has edge in performance and stats, choupo in fixtures and maybe new manager bounce. Any advice?

Arnie is due to have an assessment on the 30th I read. Which I admit sounds weird... like West Ham have stuck him on an NHS waiting list because they can’t afford a physio to see him immediately.

Arnie to Milijo and Verty to Alonso
Alonso Salah and Sterling and Kane are essential this year imo

What do you think DZs: ??
    Son and Firmino to Milijo and Kun for -4; already have Kane;
    Leaves:
    Pope
    Alonso Ota Jones Ogbonna
    Salah Sterling Lingard Milijo
    (K)un Kane
    Elliott Wilson Duffy Arnie

    1. Stevie B
      • 15 Years

Firmino has good fixtures the next games (Huddersfield, Southampton, West Ham, Newcastle). Of course the Tottenham game is not so easy. Agüero have after the West Brom game Burnley, Leicester, Arsenal and Chelsea. In my opinion the Firmino to Agüero transfer make not so much sense. But this is only my opinion.

      1. Sonny “The Hitman&rdq…

        Cheers Stevie!
The key to this move is the low amount of no doubt Captain options this week... Kun is the only no doubter and may pay for the transfer and some!

        1. Stevie B
          • 15 Years
          8 years, 6 months ago

          No problem. You are welcome.

Yes, Agüero is a very good captain option. He is the leader in the captain poll with 44 %. But the next game weeks are not so easy for him and Firmino has nice fixtures. I think to do Kane -> Agüero because the next fixtures of Kane are not so good (Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal). But I have Kane since game week 1 and will loose money when I sell him. It is not so easy. But I will keep Firmino because of his nice fixtures.

          1. Sonny “The Hitman&rdq…

Kane can be fixture proof when he is in form like now... I did the Kanexit right before the hattricks... not again

              • 15 Years

I can understand this. There is a proverb "Once bitten, twice shy". I have him since game week 1 and are not a burnt child. Maybe this is the reason why I thought to do Kane -> Agüero.

You are very nice for someone from Chicago. I have a friend and she grew up in Houston. Then she moved to Chicago because her boyfriend found a job there. But she is very unhappy with the people in Chicago. She said that they are unfriendly, barefaced and disgusting. Now she is very happy that her boyfriend found another job and that they will move to Arizona. I do not no if the people in Chicago are really so terrible, but this is what my friend said. I live in Germany and there the people also very unfriendly.

Most people think Midwesterners (like in Chicago) are very friendly compared to other areas. But, there are jerks in Chicago too. Arizona has much better weather than Chicago so good move there for your friend.

If Allen is playing as a 10 this gameweek he will be my man. Thanks to both of you.

    Does this need a Wildcard?

    Courois/Speroni
    Masuaku/Ota/Jones/JJK/Mbemba
    Salah/Sterling/Lingard/RLC/Son
    Kane/Firmino/Niasse

If not - what to do?

Close to it for sure. Couple hits could get you out of the dirt though

            Not counting Courtois...

Would you do any of these?
            a Kenny > VVD
            b Lingard > ??
            c RLC > Shaq
            d Niasse > ??

        2. Licious Lizard (delete acc)
          8 years, 6 months ago

          Yeah no wildcard needed.
          Just ship Son/RLC.
If only shipping RLC then save the second transfer. If shipping Son only, you’ll need a defensive transfer as well.

If Courtois is out, I would do
Courtois + RLC -> DDG and Allen.
Then look to either ship Son or Ota (to vvd ?) to raise some cash for defensive improvements

    What to do with gundogun....
Had him for his goal and assist but probs time to ditch, even though silva started the midweek game and gundo played only 10 mins?

Depending on the state of your team (and formation), I would look to ship him soon-ish.
      Not dependable enough.

Funds are limited so would be able to upgrade but only to a 6.9, so limited really. Thats keeping lingard in the team as well. Awkward spot atm.

Yeah we suddenly went from having a lot of options in the cheap-ish price bracket to a more limited selection.
Hmm you could jump on the Stoke bandwagon or take a punt on Ramsey. There are also Ox, Gross or Albrighton.
PS. If Lingard doesn’t lose minutes, I don’t think he is a bad option next 3. HUD, new in 26,27...

Yeah quite annoying, glad i didn't do a few early moves I had in mind.
Yes, lingard will probs stay and ill just have to bear the likely blank.
Have son and kane too so a bit annoying have 3 invested in what might be a dull affair.

Early moves could have been deadly this week. Around 100k brought in William and even some brognt in Arnie.
Yeah I also own Kane and Lingard (and DDG on bench) for the game.
Perhaps I’ll bench Lingard too for Niasse if I hear any indication he’ll get real minutes

    Salah Arnautovic* Sterling Son
    Kane Firmino

      RLC -> Allen this week.
      Next week:
      Ota -> VVD
Son or Courtois out for DDG or Pogba/Sane/Mkhi/Mahrez

Risk Niasse vs LEI over Schindler(LIV)?

    1. Licious Lizard (delete acc)

I would go Niasse. Can’t see Schindler keeping a Cs, but then again, I didn’t see Swansea keeping one either.
      Niasse 4.5 point per match.

I’m in the top 10k any season league + Jan-May league.
Any other fun public leagues to join?
And no, I don’t qualify for the top 1k 🙁

However this said, I'm keeping Son. He could well score against Pool or Arsenal (less so United) then fixtures really improve. He's great value.

Who’s the best pick from Chilwell & Simpson? Without knowing much about LEI it feels like Simpson is more nailed but Chilwell offers more in BPS and attacking returns.
