A reminder that entry for the 16th Fantasy Football Scout Cup is still open.

The qualifying round for this latest tournament will take place in Gameweek 29 this weekend. However, you can still enter your team up until 10.30am on Monday March 5.

Sign-up can be found here.

The roll call of former cup winners looks like this: donnellyc, Jonty, Gribude, Goonerdave, Ninja_Fit_Saints, sleeping master, Mch, Wild Rover, Tdubb05 , CMIFLFC, Mark, Leon Harris, A Manager Has No Name and Sleepysi.

They will be joined by our new reigning champion, TH14.

As former winners, those listed will gain a bye to the first round of the tournament should they enter with the same username.

If you’re new to our cup competitions, read on for an FAQ, offering all the details.

How does the Cup Competition Work?

The FFS Cup is very similar to the Fantasy Premier League’s own Fantasy Cup game.

Entrants who qualify for the first round will be randomly drawn against each other and the winner of the tie is whoever has the highest score from that Gameweek, minus points spent on transfers (like in the original game and in head-to-head scores).

In the event of a tie, the manager highest in the overall FPL rankings after the tie will progress.

When does it start?

The qualifying round for the Fantasy Football Scout Cup will take place in Gameweek 29, with the first round proper running in Gameweek 30.

Fantasy managers can enter their teams from now right up to 10.30am on Monday March 5, when we’ll stop entries and make the first round draws shortly after.

Previous winners must enter with the same usernames listed above to gain their bye.

How do I enter?

Enter via the entry form here.

You will be sent a confirmation email to verify your entry and you’ll be asked to confirm your FPL team id at the point of entry – please be sure to click the link to verify that your team is correct before confirming. If you FPL team is incorrectly entered, we cannot amend this at a later date.

You entry is only completed once you have confirmed your FPL team Id as part of the process.
To check that you’re entered correctly, please scan the list of entries.

The list is here.

Please note that only teams that have been registered with FPL for Gameweek 1 will be eligible for the competition.

How do I find my FPL team Id?

Your FPL Id is your unique Id for your FPL team. This is found via your Gameweek History page – the link to which is found in the right hand menu under your FPL team strip. When you visit your Gameweek History you will see a number in the URL (as opposed to the XXX below).

https://fantasy.premierleague.com/a/entry/XXX/history

Place this 1-7 digit number, or your Gameweek History URL, in the FPL id field on the entry form.

When will I find out if I’ve qualified?

Results from the Fantasy Football Scout Cup qualifying round will be published shortly after March 5 and then weekly, after the completion of each Gameweek, from that point on.

What is the Gameweek Schedule?

The competition will be played out according to the following proposed Gameweek schedule, though this could be subject to change.

Fantasy Football Scout Cup Round Dates
Qualifying – Gameweek 29
Round 1 – Gameweek 30
Round 2 – Gameweek 31
Round 3 – Gameweek 32
Round 4 – Gameweek 33
Round 5 – Gameweek 34
Round 6 – Gameweek 35
Quarter-Final – Gameweek 36
Semi-Finals – Gameweek 37
Final and third place play-off – Gameweek 38

When are the fixtures released?
Where possible, the fixture list for each round will be published a day or two before each Gameweek deadline.

The first round draw will be made and published shortly after March 5.

Prizes

Overall prizes
The prizes for the cup are as follows:

1st Place: £150 Amazon voucher
2nd Place: £100 Amazon voucher
3rd Place: £50 Amazon voucher

Do I have to enter if I’m previous winner?

Yes, because your FPL team ID will have changed so we will need to record your entry again. As a previous winner, you will be given a bye to the first round proper.

Do I need to be registered with Fantasy Football Scout?

We ask you to supply a FFScout username so we can feature you, as a member of our community, in any articles associated with the tournament.

Ideally, you will already have a username with us, but this is not essential to enter.

You must, however, supply a username for the purpose of the tournament so you can be identified in articles.

You must not change this username throughout the course of the tournament. Should you do so without permission, should you enter multiple teams, or if your FFS account comes under moderation for any reason, we reserve the right to remove you from a tournament at any stage.

Sterling trained with the full squad so byebye Shaqiri bench points.

It's the hope that kills you

              Thanks guys.
Virgin - we're really busy at work at the moment a focused on quality for the pod this week in terms of the topics we discussed. I can't be up editing until 1:30-2am this week as I have a busy day tomorrow.
We do this for free, I don't charge you anything and just want to create something to entertain people and allow us to do what we enjoy in talking about fpl.
Pods don't happen by magic: we have to put time into research, then record it, then edit it and produce it. Sometimes as this is not my job and I give up my evenings to do this, we're not able to devote as much time as we'd like to our podcasts and wgta generally.

That said, if you actually listen to the pod before commenting you might hear it and think actually it's a decent quality, well researched discussion on two key issues as well as the usual content.

              Enjoy.

That's fair enough, Nick. I saw a poll on Twitter where the masses were voting for a shorter pod. I thought that was why it had been scaled back.

Obviously if you're mad busy then that is a different kettle of fish entirely. Apologies.

I think you guys know how much I enjoy the show. I was one of the first people on here encouraging people to listen to episode 1 way back when.

I'll always be a little bit grumpy unless I get my maximum fix of WGTA, but I can appreciate how knackering it must be trying to get these out before the morning commute, so I'll pipe down now 🙂

I'm a big fan of WGTA. I've listened to every show and I have supported them from the very beginning.

Making their pod short and snappy and bitesized for generation ADHD is awful news. They are better than that. I would hate for their show to become like some of the poorer FPL pods out there that just recycle cliches and soundbites. The fact that they take their time, look at things in great detail, elaborate on their arguments - and not watch the clock - is what makes the show good. There are very few pods that cater for the advanced, high level FPL manager and this was one of them.

I'm disappointed as a fan of the show. Because I enjoy the show, I can't be happy with a reduced running time. But I understand how busy you must be. I totally accept that and I know how tiring it must be editing until the early hours of the morning during a weekday night.

I spend all day reading articles, listening to pods and looking at stats tables. There are very few people who have my knowledge of FPL, TBF. I think I could help a lot of people out with their teams. And there is a gap in the market for an FPL show that gives people straight answers to tough questions.

I'd probably just call it The FPL Virgin Show.

Keep it simple. And utilise the strength of my brand name.

Tag line would be: Get straight answers to your FPL questions.

Arsenal's form has been very predictable IMO.

Crap against teams in the Top 6
    Crap away from home
Good against non-Top 6 teams at home

The real question with Arsenal is will they put their eggs in the Europa League basket and give up on the PL

Good move likely doing something similar with Shaqiri.

Choupo could come useful in GW 31, I wouldn't waste a transfer on a Pritchard or someone of that nature unless they show more promise.

Dropped from 130k to nearly 300k in just 3 weeks and yet I don't feel like there are any urgent problems in my team?

    Pope (Begovic)
    Maguire Robertson Kenny (Ogbonna Daniels)
    Salah Sterling Walcott Ramsey
    Kane Kun Firmino

Clearly I have a lot invested in attack but I think I will downgrade Kun for Wilson maybe before 31 which will allow me to boost my defense. Are there any urgent transfers I am clearly missing?

Full plan with 4 point hit is:

        GW30 Duffy > Daniels
        GW31 Adrian > Hennessy & Eriksen > Shaqiri

        GW31
        Adrian
        Mariappa, Hegazi, Gomez, Daniels
        Salah, Sharqiri, Walcott, Brunt
        Firmino, Wilson

Brunt has been doing well recently, Hegazi bit of a punt but he gets forward for corners and the play Bournemouth GW31.

I'll probably play DDG (cpl) Gomez (NEW), Mariappa (WBA) and Fernandez (WHU) at the back GW29

I never use RMT. I find it of little use.

Comparison tool is good if you can't decide between 2 players.

Start making and looking at the stats tables. That's where you'll find the keys to the kingdom.

Not long ago Eriksen was playing deeper; controlling the game bout no good FPL-wise. Son and Alli getting the goals and assists.

Now he seems to be the main man, playing further forward, free kicks, corners.

I have him and will bring him back after GW31

Ive only 4 BGW’ers, but none particularly taking my fancy this week bar Bobby...
How’s this for a plan (I’m chasing obvs) to give me 7 or 8 BGW’ers and potentially some juicy differential joy either side?

    GW29 Aguero > Aubameyang (29,30 & 32 are stunning)
GW30 Chilwell > SCHINDLER (or Save)
GW31 Kane Elliot Son > FIRMINO 2x BGW’ers (maybe Son out sooner)
    GW32 a mid > Alexis/Ozil
